《NPC MAKER》Chapter 1 Starting Point
Advertisement
A naked man was suddenly spawned into this world. His spawn location was currently a fucking desert with endless dunes of sands. He was asleep but suddenly jolted awake from this immense heat.
“ What the fuck! This is the worst possible starting location ever!” shouted the man as he scanned his new surroundings. “ Fuck there was nothing around. I’m not going to fucking die here.”
If the man doesn’t act quickly, he will eventually succumb to the heat in a mere 8 hours and die of heatstroke. The blistering heat of the sun was steaming his very body, soon he will run out of sweat and be cooked alive. The temperature was reaching a high of 50C ( 122F). Normally the average person wouldn’t survive that long in this heat but the NPC MAKER’s body was above average in every possible way.
He looked at his super short shadow at the ground which meant the sun was directly above him and that it was in the afternoon. He picked 1 direction and ran, using his best judgement around him to keep running in the same direction for as long as possible. You could easily get lost in the desert without some sort of compass or landmark to guide you.
After 5 minutes of running in the same direction, his sharp eyes discerned that the shadow was getting longer which confirmed the sun was setting. He hoped that the temperature would become more survivable as the sun kept setting. Even though his body was above average in every way, his feet were getting first-degree burns from the hot sand. The running also sped up his sweating rate which was lowering his survival time of 8 hours to possibly 3 hour or less if he kept going full speed for the next 2 hours or so.
It had been 1 hour of running in the shadow’s direction and there wasn’t any new development other than endless sand around. His speed became halved as his body was getting more sluggish. He also lost a lot of water through his constant sweating. The NPC MAKER was starting to take deeper breaths and the heat was starting to kill him.
The NPC MAKER was getting pissed, “ WHERE’S THE FUCKING CACTUS! FUCK THIS HUGE-ASS DESERT!”
Even though he was very angry that he might die before ever establishing his empire. He still kept running, in hopes of encountering something that would help him survive.
The 2nd hour of running was slower than the 1st hour. It wasn’t even running anymore, he was jogging as hard as possible despite his effort to go faster. As he took 1 more step, he tripped and fell into the sand face first. He quickly got up and his body couldn’t jog anymore but walk. He reasoned that he only had 1 hour of walking before he died in this heat. The sun was still high in the sky as the temperature was now a mere 44C.

> ( NPC MAKER)
It was true but the NPC MAKER doesn’t make pussy decisions. If there was a choice between 80% survival rate by walking only or 0.001% survival rate by running to find something fast. He would no doubt always choose the riskiest decisions that have the highest payoff.
The final hour of walking to his body’s death. He collapsed onto the sand.
>
His eyes were about to close before he forced himself awake.
“ NO! FUCK THIS! I WANT MY WOMEN AND EMPIRE!”
A simple man with a simple desire. He crawled forward into the sand, hoping to see a better future for himself despite his absolute retarded idiocy. In the far corners of his eyes, he saw a tiny green dot. It made him super excited that it could be a desert oasis with water! He immediately got up and started running with his final dying breath. His tongue was completely rock hard and dried just like the rest of his body. Despite the immense heat pain all over his body, he surprisingly ran over there in his final adrenaline push to the green oasis.
He made it to the green oasis somehow! He stumbled over to the little lake and began chugging down the water. But the water flowing down his throat burned him.
Unfortunately for him, what he saw wasn’t a green oasis, it was just a mirage. He had been swallowing hot sand into his body. He coughed the sand out violently, realizing that everything was faked.
>
Before the NPC-MAKER gets killed by heat exhaustion. He used his NPC-making ability on himself! The resources in his body were used to create a new miniature person. Before he transferred his consciousness into his new smaller body. One-third of his adult body disappeared as it was consumed to create his new little body of a 12-year-old. The human body itself was the best resource to use to create NPC’s after all. This was also his ultimate technique to revive himself when his former body was about to die. He can only revive himself by sacrificing his current body but it was only at a 33% efficiency. So he would get ⅓ smaller every time he tried to ‘revive’ himself. So his other ⅔ body was used as his food ration instead.
The NPC-MAKER felt completely refreshed in his new body like he was given another life. However, if he were to do this again, he would become a harmless baby that would no doubt die in this terrible hot desert alone without anyone to help him.

In order to survive longer, the NPC-MAKER drank the blood of his former corpse to hydrate himself further. People would find it disgusting and even the NPC-MAKER would as well. But to do everything possible to survive, he won’t pussy out at drinking his own blood. He then ripped apart his old body that was already partially destroyed to obtain the bones inside, as it could be used as a makeshift tool. He broke apart rib bones to create a sharp edge, and obtain a tiny bone that could be used for sewing. The hair was used as a thread for the needle. Even though he was only in a 12-year-old body, he was still above average in skills in every possible way.
He spent the next 30 minutes turning his former corpse into an actual backpack filled with his biological flesh. He did his best to make sure the precious blood doesn’t leak out. The NPC-MAKER strapped onto his new backpack as he walked towards the shadow’s direction. The heat was lessening to 36C as the sun was setting lower, it was pretty much perfectly survivable for him. He reasoned that with his flesh-eating and blood-drinking, he would survive well into the night and perhaps the next day as well.
It would be a massive waste to not use his corpse after all, and he would use everything in it to survive. He could have made flesh/bone shoes so his feet don’t suffer 1st-degree burns, but it would be a waste of resources to do that so he doesn’t. His survival was more important than his comfort and he wasn’t a pussy to walk on hot sand during the day.
Several hours of walking forward with still nothing in sight. The sun had completely fallen and it was nighttime. The temperature was -5C but completely bearable for the man. It was completely dark and not even the NPC’S MAKER’s amazing eyes can see in this pitch-black darkness. But the NPC-MAKER didn’t care and kept on walking forward despite not seeing shit throughout the entire night long.
He periodically drank as little blood as possible to survive and ate as much flesh as he needed.
As the sun was starting to rise again and the temperature became a warm 15C, the NPC-MAKER was still walking forward and he was getting bored at seeing nothing new to help him survive.
>
The flesh backpack was starting to rot as well, but the precious blood he stored in it was still useful so he hadn’t given it up yet. He also made sure to get rid of all the biological waste that wasn’t consumable or useful to lighten the load.
The NPC-MAKER was running it down the desert again as he became too impatient and thought that running while it was only 15C was a smart move. It was quite a decent move as he was able to cover more ground faster. Even if his body was smaller and his speed was slower than that of an adult, it was still good.
A few hours later, there was still fucking nothing on the horizon. He drank the rest of his blood in his flesh backpack and ate the rest of it before it all eventually rotted away. It wasn’t the best-tasting food either but he swallowed it all down anyway. He tossed the backpack onto the sandy ground and tied the bone knife to his hand with his hair.
He stopped running when it became too hot and walked again.
Several more hours have passed and he survived the 2nd day, thanks to his flesh food and blood drink from earlier. He won’t be able to survive the 3rd day if he doesn’t obtain any food or water fast.
Night has fallen for a 2nd time as the NPC-MAKER kept on walking throughout the night before succumbing to his need for sleep. He only slept for 30 minutes as his desire to survive outweighed his desire for sleep and he continued walking through the pitch-black darkness.
When the sun was starting to rise again. He saw something green but this time it was real.
“ HAHAHAHAHAHAHa finally a fucking cactus.”

Before I reached Lvl. 100, they called me Death God Hei. But when I broke the limit, the System punished me. It cursed me to become this monster. I woke up as a Lvl. 0 again. Dying only brings me back to a save point now. But I don't go back until I die twice. First I suffer as a human, then I hunger as a zombie. The worst part is...I still have to watch when that thing takes over my corpse. I call it the Gray. I can't do anything even when it's hunting down those I'm trying to save. Sometimes, I wonder. When I level, I swear I can hear a voice speaking to me. This thing...can it think? It's like Re:zero crossed with SAO, Solo Leveling, and Tokyo Ghoul Re:The Worst System is a dark, 1st person timeloop story where the main character is slowly driven insane by his ability to respawn at a save point. However, each time he levels, there's a possibility that the next time he dies, the zombie inside him will become too powerful for anyone to stop. So he has to level up a harem...ahem, others, to fight for him against the System. Oftentimes, Hei will get trapped in repeating death loops which are truly terrifying. You've been warned...please don't read if you're not willing to see the darkness all the way through. The light on the other side may be a long ways away...I'll be trying to post on Thurs/Sundays, but honestly, depending on how I'm feeling, chapters could come out at some wonky times.
