“We got sidetracked quite a lot by those men '' i say worldly. We reach Hortus without another problem in 1 week. In the woods, I change into my fancy clothes and so do Cedric and sequoia. When we walk into town people seem to believe that we are just common gentry folk. We walk for a while before we find a place to stay, it's not fancy but it will do.

We put our stuff in the rooms and ask the hostess where the mayor lives because we want to talk to him. It turns out that we passed his house earlier this morning. And he lives not too far away. We buy a newspaper and see our faces on the cover.

“Uh oh,” I say weirdly. Luckily we look different now. I even feel different. I have been missing (as the newspaper says) for a month now.

We head out to the mayor's house and sit down to talk to him. We tell him who we are and what we are here to do (about the king and elven empire). He believes us and is very sympathetic for our cause. He says he will arrange a time for us to tell the community about how the king is destroying the elven nation and getting his daughter married 25 years before the legal age. It is a success.

We enjoy civilization for a while but sequoia really seems to miss the forest and seems sad. So I tell Cedric this and he takes her riding in the woods. After this, she seems so much happier. The day comes and we head to palace square for the talk thingy. We tell the people everything and by the end of it, the way sequoia told our story has me wiping tears from my eyes.

“ So who is with us? Who wants to make this right? Who wants to have a chance at something?” she says. The only thing you hear is the blacksmith's hammer on his anvil. She drops her raised hands and walks off the platform. Well this is great. The people slowly leave and we walk back to the house we are staying at.

This didn't work. We came here for nothing. All this work, down the drain. I try to fall asleep but I can't. I walk to my window and look out across the street. It is beautiful. Lit up with candles for Sol Feray. Sol Feray! That is tonight! The days that celebrate the Does Pax. Tonight and tomorrow night are devoted to magic.

I stealthily creep down the stairs and walk out into the night. I walk and walk trying to clear my mind and find a way to get help from the people. I soon reach the edge of town and stop. I hear something. The memory floods in. the sound of horse hooves, getting tied up and dragged for miles and watching them tie Cedric up. Hearing Sequoia’s scream of rage at being handled by these men. I can't let it happen again. Sequoia knew but she didn't warn us. This time I will make a difference.

The beat of Horse hoofs is getting closer. Oh no. who is coming? I know that I shouldn't be so traumatized by this but every time the memory floods in. I see the riders coming into the village.

They look suspicious. I have to run back and warn Cedric and Sequoia. I start to run, faster than I've run in years. I get to our house and tell them of the riders I saw. They are concerned so they get ready to leave at a moment's notice. We just hope that the men I saw are not the king's soldiers.
