《Heir of the Dragon》Chapter 6

Mel shouted in amazement as he turned around and glanced at the scattered flowers.
"I know all the plants, it's amazing!"
He knew all the details about the plants he saw, and he felt as if they were part of him.
"I guess Grandfather Drago’s legacy is not only limited to power. It seems his knowledge has also been transferred to my memory.”
That was a valid explanation about what really happened. The true meaning of being an Inheritor was to capture everything that belonged to the previous generation without restriction.
"What am I going to do now?"
He paused for a moment while muttering. Then the book in the ring appeared in his hands. The book was too big for the little boy to hold with one hand. He found it convenient to carry it up to the stone altar, where he first woke up in the cave, and then read it.
"If you are still in the cave, know that this is a place built entirely for you, my heir!"
As Mel had just read the first sentence, his tears began to flow like a flood. These were his grandfather's words, and the old man would no longer wait for him by the ruined shed every day.
Fate had parted their ways. Mel would try to remember what it felt like to be close to him just by reading what he wrote in this book.
“You have just received a small part of my heritage. I hope by using the cave and the valley, you can reach my Shallow and Deep heritage.
Are you confused by these terms? If you want to inherit the legacy of the previous generation as heir, you will have to embark on a three-step journey. If you can fully absorb the energy divided into three heritages; Shallow, Deep, and Bottom, you will have inherited the legacy of your predecessor.
In the cave, the materials and the environment you need to improve yourself in botany are ready. The clay pots inside the ring are full of objects that will help you in this regard.

A valley is a place you can use to enhance your fighting ability. You can find wild creatures at every level. In the beginning, I advise you not to go far away from the cave, because creatures above a certain level are afraid of it and cannot go nearby.
I know you are reading what I have written in an anxious mood and you are unsure of what to do. But I cannot explain everything to you.
Now is the time to discover yourself and the environment. Go and live! ”
The first page ended with these words. Mel, who received the required explanations for the first phases, began to walk around the cave.
Drago had spent many years here, making the preparations himself. The little boy walked and touched every stone and every flower as if his grandfather was with him. Mel closed his eyes by leaving his body on the damp soil.
For a long time, in a half-asleep mode, Mel observed the flowing of time and then entered into a different meditative state.
He felt an energy flow coming from the roots of the plants and reaching into the pores on his skin. It was penetrating from his skin to his blood, and then to his flesh and bone.
The absorbed energy was so calm and docile that the young boy could embrace it without any trouble. As if the plants were offering their energy to Mel by their free will and let him absorb it.
It was a magnificent feeling. After a while, when the energy flow ceased, Mel had to open his eyes. The little boy did not want to get out of this situation which tasted like happiness. He tried to take energy from the plants again by closing his eyes.
Now, the energy coming into his body from the earth did not seem to flow as smoothly as before, and when it came to the pores in his skin, the little boy began to writhe in pain.

The energy was no longer comfortable but was in a form that made him suffer from pain. Young Mel woke up immediately and jumped up.
"What's going on? Why did I feel like knives were sticking in my body when everything was so easy the first time? ”
The little boy felt a little guilty beside the pain. Although he did not know what it was, these feelings came and sat in his heart.
"Don't kill anything that hasn't gone into the killing cycle!"
The situation continued like this until he heard the voice echoing within him, hearing Drago's last will in his voice.
"Did I do something bad to the plants?"
Mel shouted in panic, looking at the herb garden and saw that what he feared had happened.
The flowers and plants that had previously appeared in vitality had bent their necks and lost their color as if to show that their vital energy was being exploited.
"Sorry, I really didn't know it would be like this!"
The boy in panic was running around in an upset state, thinking that the energy he absorbed was enough to destroy a huge herb garden.
Fortunately, the plants gradually began to regain their former shape, as they nourished the water of the river that flowed through the cave, their colors came back and their scent spread.
Realizing that did not make an irrevocable mistake, Mel went into the second most interesting thing in the cave, the river. He was trying to calm down by lying on the edge of this stream, the deepest part of which came to the level of his waist.
Contrary to his expectation, his eyes suddenly opened and his limbs in the water began to tremble. In less than an hour, the little boy had become energetic enough to pierce the sky. As he threw himself out of the water, he began to run into the cave-like crazy.
Not being aware of his direction, Mel threw himself from one side to another as if he was going to explode. In this state, he left the main hall and reached another room inside the cave.
As he entered the room, his movements slowed down, and the waves bubbled by the storms that broke inside of him, dissipated as if they hit a breakwater.
The skinny boy, who finally managed to return to his normal self, started to examine the place where he came by coincidence. The glowing crystals in the ceiling were the first to catch his attention. This part of the cave was illuminated by crystals, just like the big cavity.
While this was the first to be noticed, the most glaring detail was the dragon's paw print, which seemed to be carved into the great wall. It looked like an old and ancient thing as if this print had been there for a long time.
After a glance, Mel realized that this was a place designed for combat training. The large space in the middle was surrounded by puppets made of wood, metal, and materials that he could not identify.
Across the traced wall, there was an inscription engraved from the ceiling to the floor. Mel knew very well for which purpose this inscription, with the words Dragon's Claw written at the top, was made.
"It is written here how to use the only fighting skill Grandfather Drago allowed me to use. It will be a pity if I don't start right away with all this energy inside!"
It was not clear whether he said that because he was aware of his responsibilities or because he just wanted to play a game, but Mel would begin his first combat training here, in this cave built by his grandfather, who Mel hung up with, while others were working.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
