《A Glimmer in the Dark》Prologue 2

The light did not fade but it was neither blinding nor glaring to the eyes. The brilliance slowly filling the body and stipping away all the loose "skin" that had started peeling of when it left the shell, even dirt on its bare feet was falling away. The light then was working its way into the body of the figure and it made the figure feel lighter and lighter, until eventually the figure was floating a little off the ground.
The voice returned, this time with a bit of a chipper tone. "You may feel a little discomfort but it is time for us all to meet."
And the figure's body began to float away from the hole in the mountain and started to pick up speed. The wind did not hit it as the pillar of light became a large teardrop shape that covered the figure as the voice was speaking and was flying through the sky as the ground speed off from under it. A see of green with an occasional blue, brown, yellow and grey spots were also zipping in and out of view but they were all mere smudges below.
The ground then disappeared, giving way to a vast blue and slowly other tears of light were coming into view. As the tears came closer to one another they also began to climb higher and higher and they took up a circle formation as they swiftly spiralled into the clouds. Yet higher and higher they continued and the clouds were left far below them and the blue of the sky grew darker as it gave way to bleakness of the void.
The figure tried to see what others were inside the tears but the view was obstructed by the brilliance it gave off. This just sparked curiosity as the thoughts came of what could be the reason for all of this to be happining yet worry and fear was the least of the things that came to mind as the radiance each tear exuded was both comforting and calming.

The figure then trained its gaze forward still in "calm wondering" when a sudden shift in feeling came, like that of a ripple on the surface of a body of water. It was as if time had stopped and there was neither up nor down, no hot nor cold, all that could be felt was a sense of being, just being there. Then the awarenes of the other 8 presences near by came and it realized that it was now sitting with the other tears around it and the light receeding.
The others became visible and the figure looked around, taking in the forms of those it was with as another thought donned on the figure. It was now seated. But what was it sitting on? So it looked down only to find nothing but the same light that covered it in a pillar and then a "tear" before, a light that now stretched throughout the whole space it was in. Looking at the expression of the others it saw the similar thoughts and realizations coming forth from the company it was with.
All the of them started to make a motion to speak, moving their respective mouths and lips, or lack there of, only for them to discovered that no words nor sounds were being produced. A short panic insued but was quickly calmed as their thoughts were being directed into the center of their circle.
"Greetings progenitors. Welcome to your new abode, you may call it Haven." the voice said is the sound was coming from a form similar yet diffent to all of them as it was basically featureless. "I am but a consciousness of this space and a guide to allow you to adjust and now of why you are here." the voice continued. "The world you were in is but a clean slate, though not entirely barren as you have observed. There is only a most basic forms of flora and fauna that lives on its surface, kinds which are no taller than a leg and some so miniscule for naked eye to see, yet that is not part of the point."

"The purpose of you all being here is simple, a clean slate is there to be filled, and you are the ones to fill it."
the voice declared.
"All of you will be granted power and the unlocked knowledge to be able to use this power. You are then to "release" in unto the world until all of it is expended. And at the point of expending its entirety you will be returned to places you first gained consciousness. Now then, it is best that you begin." the voice ended
As the voice ended speaking, knowledge came rushing into the figures mind, its thinking changed and it looked around to all those in attendance and then found out that all of the others' gazes now shone with and intelligence that wasn't there previously. The feeling of the "shift" came as pillars of light were covering all the forms that were present.
A ripple radiated from it and then it was then returned to a familliar secne, the mountain it had come from so it decided to look at where it came from and then inspected to shell and the "things" that were across it.
A story unfolded into its mind as it absorbed all to meanings that the scribble actually had and then it floated out up to the green peak of the mountain and released its power with a single word "Life."

A Sinner's Eden
The Earth of the future is united under a single government, but not all things are well. The shape of the playing field may be changed, but the powerful still rule the weak. And those who do not conform with the rest of society are exiled to another world. A world that not even the technology of the future managed to tame.It should have been humanity's New World but ended up as nothing more than a penal colony. A place where the exiled are sent to die. Motivated by revenge, Magnus sets out on a quest to bring his own justice to his enemies. For that purpose, he is willing to go further than most others. But then he learns that if he truly wishes to change things, he can only find his answers beyond the gate. Having lived most of her life as an exile, Astra is a woman of few interests aside from survival and climbing the ranks of her clan.To achieve those goals, she certainly won't be squeamish when a chance literally falls into her lap, or will she? ——————————————————————————————— I am trying to go with a survival/medieval setting in this one. People from a technologically advanced society are thrown into a world where they can't maintain their tech. They are forced to rely on medieval technology where they have to make do with the limited resources they have and what little of their old technology is still working. Their gene manipulation allows them to have something akin to superpowers, but that doesn't help much against the monsters of their new world. Not sure yet whether sufficiently advanced technology will be discovered later on to count as magic. ——————————————————————————————— Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently, I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur)

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
