《The Girl Who Jumped Through Worlds》12. Shock

Am I considered a fool for thinking that we were actually in front of our destination. As soon as Shaiyla assaulted me, I was too angered at myself for letting her supposedly trick us like that since she had us separated too. I was too sceptic by her decisions and the way she acted, but my inability to properly think during those times condemned me.

I knew that if it hadn’t been Shaiyla, somebody else would’ve capitalized on the situation and captured us both. I could’ve tried to hand myself in just so Kotlin could be safe tho. Wait, what!? Why do I even care about him to the point of doing such thing? I’ve never trusted him since we first met, and my faith on him hasn’t raised that much either; but I still somehow feel that he’s trust-worthy. Either way, Shaiyla didn’t turn out to be any of what I feared her to be and I was actually standing in front on Tibius.

He surprisingly enough wasn’t an old man, for what I knew he could’ve been only some years older than me. His physique looked robust and he had long-ish curly hair. Considering Lirius being that old, I thought of them as being friends and consequently both looking old-ish but apparently this was more of a master-to-apprentice type of thing.

Shaiyla on the other hand looked like a boy. She had short hair, a suit that would tell you the opposite of what she was and some pretty nice eyes.

And there was me, beaten and tired to death. But that’s how it goes I suppose.

“Welcome girl!” finally said Tibius. “We’ve been eager to make your acquaintance for a long time. You know, you’re somewhat of a big deal around here.”

“Well yeah, I’ve been getting that a lot. Thanks for the warm welcome, tho.”

“You have to understand us, we had to see what you were capable of. And oh did you deliver. Shaiyla is my first pupil ever and regardless of her being the only one, she’s by far the strangest specimen I’ve seen; and seeing her struggling with you at the end just proved our point about you. You are the one. There’s no doubt about it. You’ve only been here for a few days, right?”

“Uh-h, yes.”

“And you’re competent of such things? That’s marvelous. I do apologize for my over-joy though. First things first, get these herbs to your friend and he’ll feel better in a matter of time. Then we’ll have a talk. I know you’re been keen to find out what’s going on.”

Eve was still in awe.

“Alright, sounds like a plan.” responded Eve and left.

Was she actually going to get some answers? It looked like all of her energy had gotten back since she was jumping around out of content. She just wanted to recover Kotlin as soon as possible and share this moment with him. Maybe he was gonna get answers as well. She just couldn’t wait anymore, so she sprinted towards the tent she had left Kotlin and when she arrived it wasn’t a surprise finding Kotlin still asleep.

Eve used the herb and in an instant Kotlin was awake. To her amazement, Kotlin looked fully restored. There was contentment on her eyes. She in a way felt that it was her mistake that Kotlin was on that condition, and seeing him finally well made her relieved.

“Kotlin, you’re wel—“ and she fell to the floor unconscious.

“Isn’t she lovely?”

“She surely is.”

“Isn’t she precious?

“She definitely is.”

“Isn’t she gonna be ours as soon as she finds out?”

“She most certainly is.”

“Oh, is she staring at us?”

Evelynn was in the middle of 6 giant statues. This all seemed like a dejavu. They all looked tremendous. One worse than the other. She was trembling in fear.

One of the statues approached her and was about to grab her when she vanished.

“NO! You scared her of—“ and the voice was inaudible now.

Eve woke up screaming.

“AHHHHH” screamed Eve.

“Eve, Eve! I’m here, are you ok?” tried to comfort Kotlin.

Eve hugged him. They were both laying on the bed, the small space it had looked like it wasn’t gonna be enough but they were somehow mingled together that it didn’t matter.

Eve was too scared to know what was going on but good thing Kotlin was there to bring her to her common sense. It took him a few attempts but after realizing the situation, Eve got out of the room blushing and calling Kotlin a pervert.

It was peculiar for her to have a nightmare at this point. It had been so long since the last one, or at least it felt like that, that it was too weird now. The thing is, this one seemed too realistic and too frightening. Maybe it was supposed to be that way so things could balance out. Too many good things had happened these last hours that they had to compensate for them.

Anyhow, the only thing she cared about right now was to find out what the hell she was doing here, and she knew Tibius had the answers and was awaiting her. So she got inside the tent, explained Kotlin what had happened since he last was asleep and rushed towards Tibius, inviting Kotlin as well. But not before calling him a pervert once again for abusing the situation in a moment of weakness for Eve.

“Great, you’re finally here then.” said Tibius. “Let’s get started with your Mom.”
