Getting back to their room, they all quickly closed the door and started to complain about Kyle's action from earlier.

“Why did you do that, that so was unnecessary, they did welcome us to their home, what more do you expected” Luna said

“I am sorry, he provoked my and I just lost my cool” Kyle answered

“Bullshit, you were the one who lured him in to this, I know that trick of your Kyle, you always do this kind of think, luring them into facing you, making it look like they were the one who hit you first so you can make the excuse of it was just self defend.” Liam angrily spoke.

“We could have used them as allies if we needed anything in the future, don’t you think your action might have caused us?” Allan asked. Kyle laughed hard at what Allan just said.

“You really think they are that generous,” Kyle said, his eyes told it all, somehow, they have already missed something important and they were gonna get a lecture by Kyle again just like in the cave.

“Giving you clean clothes and a bath, is that all it really takes to buy your trust? Dear old Richard did not mean what he said when he told us to ask for anything we want. What he meant was “I would give you some money and now leave this place”. Kyle said. “ You really could not see it do you, Allan was so fixated on Rose while the rest of you was focusing on his words and not his action. What kind of person does not even offer the ‘Heroes’ that have just saved his daughter's life to come in and at least have a meal, we were left outside of the gate. He thought that I would not ask for anything in return, just like how he manipulated Liam to almost not accept the gold. He told us in public in front of a large audience and tried to play us with high words like heros, and what ‘Heroes’ like you don’t do are to take credit for what you do and to take gold for your heroic action. If he wanted to, he could have just given us the gold right there and then, not just offered it around waiting for us to answer ”.

Everyone's eyes were widden, they did not notice that at all, it was true like the last time. They thought they were welcome into this place, they were so happy that they were given the name heroes that they did not even think about how they really reacted to them.

“Not to mention, they continuously poking us question, a bunch of experience adventures wearing fancy armor and caring rare weapons asked low level new adventure about our “heroic stories”, give me a break, I can not believe you did not notice that, and this duel between me and Geralt was a set up, by Richard no less” Kyle continued.

“What, how do you know that Richard planned the fight?” Maria asked.

“You mean the leading and most respected member of the guide and Geralt's father could not say a word in between our argument and act as if he could not do anything to Geralt. In actual fact, Geralt has been silent for most of the evening since that moment and was looking at his father, almost as if he was waiting for some kind of signal. And in my opinion, that signal was gold, so that's why I challenged him for a duel with 1000 gold as a prize.

It all kind of added up now that they thought about it, the one thought that they could not find out why the lead of a famous merchant guide would react like that, that was something that Kyle could not explain either.

Once again the gang was clueless about what was going on, but this time Kyle’s lecture did not last for long, he told them to rest and that it was gonna be ok, he would not do anything that crazy to Geralt. But that was a lie.

The night went by quickly and calmly, nothing exciting happened, they all stayed in their respective rooms and were too tired from all the stress that happened that day. Morning came and Kyle was already prepared for what was about to happen.

The group was led to an arena, where an open space was placed in the middle and tables and seats were placed around it. It truly was like an exhibition match between two fighters. Rose and her family arrived, they all took a sit next to each other, and of course like in a fairy tale, the handsome blue eyes Allan got to sit next to the princess of the merchant guide, Rose, they immediately said hi and start their conversation, while Liam, Luna and Maria was focusing on Kyle. He was standing in the battle arena with no weapon, he even went as far as doing it shirtless to indicate that he had nothing to hide. The sight of Kyle shirtless was truly something to seen for all the lady in the arena as the result of years of training really showed on his body, Luna and Maria was blushing at the sight, they only ever saw him shirtless when he was injured and cover with blood, this was actually new to them.

On the opposite, Geralt did the same, they both were ready and just waited for Richard to announce to start the fight. And not a moment later Richard started the fight. At that moment, Luna saw Richard crack a smile, “he really thought that Geralt would win huh” she thought to herself.

Geralt immediately closed the distance between the two and attacked Kyle with a series of combo moves and martial art skills. Kyle, however, seemingly could not respond to his attack, only narrowly dodging his attack with luck or blocking them, he could not fight back. The smile on Geralt and Richard's face grew wider, but then, “Are you done showing off”, with one move, Kyle managed to redirect Geralt's incoming blow and counter him with a direct punch to his face. Geralt was stunned, Richard's eyes suddenly grew worried and that smile was gone.

“Too slow” Kyle said “ And those attacks of yours were too weak, there was no power in them at all”.

Geralt attacked Kyle again right after that, and the result was the same, he did not land a hit on him, that when everyone realized that Kyle was not just narrowly able to dodge Geralt attacked, he purposely did so, “Oh shit, that kid is doom” Liam said as he stood up from his seat, Allan, Maria and Luna caught on of what Liam had seen soon later, Kyle eyes was as cold as it could be.

Kyle countered Geralt again, swiping Geralt's legs, causing him to fall on the ground and with his eyes full of bloodthirst. Kyle jumped up into the air, crashing down toward Geralt and his right hand was getting ready to release a cannon of a punch. “NO” screamed from everyone, Liam, Luna,.. and Richard. But it was too late, a loud sound shocked the arena and Geralt was motionless. Liam and the rest could see Kyle's right hand was at where Geralt's head should be. But, Kyle did not hit him, instead, he hit the ground right next to Geralt's head, Kyle then got back on his feet, moved back from Geralt and said.

“Stand up, we are not done yet”, everyone was glad that Geralt was ok but for how long they wondered. First they thought that it was a one-sided fight and were all smiling but now, it was a one-sided fight but they were all scared straight. But nothing can be done as no one can intervene to duel that was the rule, and Richard, a well respected figure of the guide could not break it in front of so many spectators.

Geralt was scared now, his legs could not move, but Kyle yelled at him again “Stand up you fool if you don’t want to die”,

Geralt instinctively stood up. This time, Kyle was the one attacking and Geralt could not defend against such powerful and precise attacks from Kyle, he quickly fell back on the ground this time seemingly scared and broken. But Kyle was not about to let him go that easily. “Up” Kyle yelled at Geralt, and he had to stand up as there was his family and so many spectators were watching, he could not just lay there and do nothing. So he did, with his leg shaking he stood up facing the monster that was Kyle.
