《Saga of Osin》Chapter 10

I try to control that energy wreaking havoc through my body but it is of no help. My entire body is trembling and I feel like I'm having a seizure. My eyes roll back and I pass out.
...
..
.
Gale, the Supervisor of this camp rushed over to see what the commotion was about. People move away from him and give him way. The cause is apparent in matter of minutes; A boy is on the ground, convulsing and rolling around. He seems to be in considerable pain.
Gale gets down on his knees and places a hand on his stomach. He tries to wrap his mana around the energy and pull it out but his mana is burned away.
A gleam of happiness and panic courses through his body. Holy Energy. This boy has the ability to in-take holy energy. His gears start turning in their little noggin. This boy be an invaluable asset for him especially, if he had some inkling of talent.
Gale knew this was his chance. His chance to get hold of a brilliant trump card. He grabbed one of his men by the arm and told him to rush over and find his vial of extracts.
The solider came back with it and Gale grabbed the boy's mouth. Somebody moved over for a brief second and Gale's instincts force him to back away. It is a brown-haired man with a ferocious gleam in his eyes. "What are you doing to him?"
"This is the distilled extract of a frost banshee's core. It will help him relieve his pain, trust me." Gale raised one of his hands and poured it into the boy's mouth. This time he made sure that he handled him with care.
An instant calm spread through the boy's body. The amount of mana he'd absorbed was not too much. Gale sighed with relief.

"I can't give him appropriate treatment if he stays here. I have a doctor back at my residence. He will be able to do it."
The brown-haired man nodded and backed off. "Can we follow you to your residence?"
"Sure. I'll have one of the guards escort you." He commanded his soldiers to pick up the boy.
...
..
.
I feel the smooth, indentation of a mattress beneath me and I sigh. Am I back in that cell again? All that must've been a dream. I need to stop day-dreaming.
My eyes open and I'm not staring up at a bunk-bed. I turn over and I'm in a sparse room. There isn't that much furniture in here. Still here, thank god.
I feel a spike of pain travel through my body and I check under the covers. My abdomen and stomach is so purple that it's almost black.
The slightest touch sends a spasm of pain through my body. I try to sit up but a fierce shock of pain travels through my body. I don't think I'll be able to utilize my core for quite some time.
"You're awake. That's good." I turn over the sound and find a man in his forties. Streaks of white are pulling back from his forehead. The most striking feature is the area below his left eye. It looks like its drooping. Droopy eye.
I can't see him in any other way now. "Who are you?"
"I'm Gale Satin " He extends his hand forward and I shake it. It is a strong grip. "I decided to bring you here. You were hurt an awful lot."
I feel a wave of gratitude flow through my body and my first words are, "Thank you."
He smiles back at me. We chat about some mundane topics for a few minutes and then he gets up. "If you'll excuse me, I'm quite busy these. I'll have the doctor come in and examine you."

I have a question for him before he leaves, "Do you know where my companions are?"
He rubs his chin, "Do you mean the brown-haired boy?"
"Yes."
He looks awkward for a moment, "They're still down at the Courtyard. I thought they might be related to you somehow but you don't look alike."
"Ok, thank you." I smile. Now isn't the time to piss of this guy. I just have a few minor problems. There's a hundred million people out on these streets, dying and suffering. This guy decides to just save me? There has to be an ulterior motive here.
The first reason I can think of is my title: [First Alien]. Perhaps, it was the absorption of that white cloud. It could also be my other skills. I need to pinpoint the reason for his generosity. The door creaks and another person walks in.
It is a woman. She is thin and about five feet tall. I think she's a maid. She's not wearing a maid costume but I can tell by her cleaning tools. Her most striking feature are her ears. They're elongated like an elf's. Her hair's tied up into a tight bun. I'm attracted to her.
She starts to sweep out the room and clean out some of the gunk. I pull my gaze away and try not to stare. That Gale might've sent her in for this very reason. I need to find out his intentions.
The doctor walks in next and he examines my stomach. "You should've cultivated mana storage first." So they're aware that I can mediate.
"What is the problem with that?"
The doctor rubs his head and mutters, "Commoners..."
"Holy Magic is very potent. Mana Storage would've prevented this and allowed you to absorb it safely. This whole debacle could've been avoided. Drink this." He hands me a cup with some disgusting green liquid inside. I don't want to drink it but not doing so would be a little suspicious. I down it.
Then he hands me a small crystal. I grab it and it shines with a white radiance. His expression is different now. Greed. That's what it is.
...
..
.
"He has the talent for it. I checked."
Gale laughs out-loud. This is it. His lucky break. "What should we do next?"
"Let's get him [Mana Storage]? It's a fundamental. His talents won't bloom without it."
"His trust is the crucial factor here. Without it, investing in him would be a waste."
"Of course..."
