“Poire? Were you able to find your forgotten homework?”
Poire hid the bag filled with water and life behind her back as she walked up the stairs. “Yes,” she quickly said, “thankfully the school was still open. I’m going to work on it now. I have a lot of catching up to do, so please don’t come in my room, Mother.”
“But, Poire!” her mother called from the kitchen. “You haven’t washed your hands with—”
“I did, Mother.” Poire paused in the middle of the stairs. “I washed my hands with the holy water, don’t worry. I was just too quiet, which is why you didn’t hear me.”
The silence that came next was all Poire needed to get away. Poire knew that, technically, if she had left for the pet store at the time she had initially planned to, there was at least thirty minutes left before her father came home. However, since there was certainly no certitude of this, Poire’s panic only rose. Sure, she could have simply gone to check a clock, but in her frenzy the girl had forgotten about their existence; and at the same time perhaps she was right to do so—for it was possible, in her mind, that she might not even know how to read the indications any longer.
Poire stood before the aquarium. Its filter was still making bubbles despite there being no soul inside to enjoy their company. She grabbed the bag containing the fish and opened it before pouring the extra load of water into the tank.
And then, that is when she heard it: a key twisting in her front door’s lock.
It was Poire’s father. She heard his voice, as he greeted both her mother, and her brother. She gasped and almost dropped the bag, but thankfully managed to hold onto it long enough for the fish to swim free, and into its new home.

Without wasting any more time, Poire then ran out of the room, dashing toward her own in a race against the echoes of her father’s footsteps that creaked as he approached.
“Poire?” Poire’s father tilted his head. He looked to her, confused, with one brow raised. “What are you doing here?” he asked her.
Poire smiled. She leaned against her room’s doorway and said, “Nothing, Father. I simply felt like greeting you since you took the time out of your day to come back early for once.”
“Ah,” he sighed, “well, I guess I can’t be mad at that.” He ruffled her hair before walking toward his study. “Just be sure to finish your homework, okay, dear?”
“Yes, Father, I won’t dwell on it.”
He opened the door she closed seconds ago and paused. Poire wondered if he knew, if the heat of her skin was still radiating from the handle. Her father turned around. He looked at her.
He grinned. “Good night, Poire,” he said, before shutting the door again.
Poire waited a second, then two, until she stepped back into her room and placed a hand against her heart.
Her shoulders dropped.
She huffed.
The air that had once been so thick grew thin.
She could finally breathe again.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.

Chosen of Silver
In the lands of Neden, children with gates--birthmarks able to accept and hold the power of soulstones--are collected every five years, when they reach age fifteen to nineteen. It is nearly time for the newest cohort to be celebrated and then conscripted, and with that day looming, those whose lives are about to change wait impatiently for their destiny to arrive...or try to find a way to avoid it: Cal, a refugee from the nation of Caas, doesn’t want to go to Kellingherth to gain the powers of man, beast, or element, and he certainly doesn’t want to join the war efforts after that. The only things he’s dying for are a good drink, dance, and girl, in no particular order. His best friend Raff prefers his sweat to come from a hard day's training than an evening carousing and wishes Cal did, too. He wants to accomplish more with his life than becoming a simple palace sentry like his estranged father and will do whatever it takes to get there. And they are just two of many. When the tenuous peace of the realm is threatened by the arrival of an old enemy, these young chosen will likely be swept up in events rather than prevent them, but the future cannot be rushed or escaped, only experienced.

The World Close to Entropy
At year 3021, Akino Kylei, a detective, and Alexa, her adopted daughter, got caught in a huge explosion of unknown origin. The next thing they knew was they woke up in a huge room full of empty ‘seed pods’ looking structures. Much to their surprise, their bodies have turned into something else and the world they knew became deserted ruins covered in alien flora and fauna, with no single human shadow to be found. Investigating further, the detective and her daughter discovered that one million years have passed since the explosion they got caught with, the whole world has turned into a highly radioactive environment, and a strange stationary ‘void’ appeared below the north star Polaris. The two accidentally went into the void, finding themselves in a strange world, and as they begin surveying that world, they saved a demi-wolf named Lyka from some attacking 'knights'. Lyka thanked the two otherworldy humans by going in a pact between them, and so the three embarks on their journey. Lyka guides Akino and Alexa in her world called 'Elyn', becoming adventurers, and resolving many conflicts. They travelled in that world and experiences many things, all the while slowly discovering some vague information about the so-called Institution, a secretive organization from Akino and Alexa's world, and has left considerable amount of evidences of their existence in Elyn, leading to more questions as to what really happened on that day the Earth was wiped-out.

Lament of The Demiurge
The Great Law of Blood is simple: when you kill someone, you take their EXP. When you get enough EXP, you level up. When you level up, you become better at killing people. The cycle has continued since before the time of the gods and has been going on thousands of years after they died. It's a good thing, of course. It rewards punishing the evil creatures of the world: goblins, kobolds and other sorts of terrible monsters. It will surely go on for eternity. People thought the gods would live for eternity too, but they were slain. This world has never, and will never, stand still.
