The strings were being tested, a short thread that desired to become a knot.
“““…ₕₒₕₒₕₒ...””” A faint laughter overlapped thrice over as it silently rang out in an empty space.
A thin yarn connected with a larger string.
A twitch of a finger altered a greater tapestry.
The role of a thread was cut sooner than intended.
Those that wished to deny destiny were blinded by hubris, ignorant of their own incapability, for they were merely a tiny piece that came together into a larger whole.
A single thread woven in a peerless tapestry.
A colored marble in a mythical mosaic.
A line of ink in history’s grand epic.
Their tales already wrung, their stories already foretold, their lives already decided.
Their efforts bare nothing more than amusement.
“““…ₕₒₕₒₕₒ...””” The snip of scissors echoed after laughter.
A butterfly flapped its wings.
A typhoon had yet to occur.

After a dear friend and mentor is taken from her by the ignorance of the same people from whom she once learned kindness, she leaves to find something more and to share her love for music on the other side of the Alblu Sea. With kingdoms becoming obsolete to the modern world of Embre, her choice to be a musician over trying to get back the royal life stolen from her leads her to dark places in a big and dangerous city. When they meet again, Kael has the chance to learn forgiveness from his long-lost sister and Melody has the chance to be corrupted by Kael’s need for revenge. Kael has the army Melody needs and Melody had the home Kael needs, but they cannot both have what they want. For Melody to surive a dark threat, she would have to accept the path of violence. For Kael return to the life he lost, he’d have to abandon the strength to keep his sister safe.

In a single night: an entire nation of monsters vanished. A cloud and flash of light that all had seen. Only the strongest could survive against their might and stubborn ingenuity. Those terrifying, amazing humans. We had laughed at first. ‘What possible danger is there? They’re just humans’. That was centuries ago by this point, of course. We all realized the moment we saw that metal tube fall. There is something that only a human can accomplish, through their ability to see light even in the darkest situation. You don’t win against humans. You either die with them or live to serve them.
