《Aetherborn (Rewritten)》Chapter 12- Pursuit of Quebelle

VIIIth Century, year 63, Brumáire. Day 20. Somewhere far from the battlefield .
Ashkan's eyes slowly began to open, his vision momentarily becoming a blur. My body was slightly recovered.
"Maybe the break in my mana core has recovered, but how long did that take?"
He was in a comfortable place, too comfortable, it was a bed, which in itself is strange enough. As he tried to get up crying sounds rushed towards his ears. Forcefully he tried to get up, and his chest burned, as if they had stamped a hot iron plate on his chest.
"Yeah, maybe my mana core hasn't recovered yet. What pisses me off the most is having to use Queen's powers, even though she still can't get back to physical form her prices are still sky high."
"Argh!" Every step Ashkan used to move shuddered her entire body, it was immeasurable fatigue, Ashkan not only exceeded her physical limits, the host was not prepared for any magic Ijin could use.
An aged wooden door stood in front of him, it was clear that that was the room of a house. Even in that state Ashkan felt no fear of what might be on the other side, so he promptly opened it without hesitation.
"Are you awake?"
A girl dressed in farmer's clothes was sitting on a damp wooden table, there were only a dry bread and a cup of tea. Her face had a tired expression, her cheeks barely possessed any fat, she must have been hungry for a while.
"Yes, how long have I been unconsciously?"
"Ah, no more than 3h, you recovered very quickly"
Ashkan was relieved that in such a short time her total fatigue had turned into a slight recovery.
"You look hungry, unfortunately I don't possess much but I can share some of what I have"
The girl with a kind gesture offered what little she possessed to me. She probably didn't know that he was the Regent King after all not many people of the mass knew his real appearance, that's if the memory of the former Ashkan doesn't fail me. However Ashkan couldn't waste any time, he still had some unfinished business.
"I am fine, just fatigued. But tell me, where are we?"
"Well, we are a bit away from the centre, in the southern part"
"How long does it take to get to the centre, or rather the palace?"
"Well, 600 I read, around that. But no! You are in this state and the centre of the capital is in chaos, the enemy forces with two Generals are close to conquering the whole centre of the Capital. There are several refugees heading towards the other Kingdoms, run away with us, soon they will come for us"
"I thank you for your kindness and I am extremely happy. But I must go..."
That girl understood his urgency, perhaps there was some there that he had strong ties to and he couldn't just run away.
"Wait, take this! It is a magic locket left by my brother before he left for the war, he promised me that he would return alive, and as long as this locket exists nothing can cause me any harm"
As she handed over Ashkan's hand she smiled slightly and whispered
"W-from your condition, you must be some kind of fighter, I know it's crazy but my brother was a member of the Order of bronze, do you know...do you s-know if he is alright?"
Ashkan was left without an answer, he had witnessed the battlefield, and none of them could have survived after that. It was the true and cruel answer, or the friendly lie. A cruel decision to give.

"There are different ways to deal with death, for some peace for others torment. I believe your brother will not return, but for sure he will be at peace, after all anyone who does harm to anyone in this nation will pay with double blood and sweat."
The little girl cried, she already imagined the answer, but the way Ashkan answered her caused a commotion in her heart, that her brother had not died in vain.
"Thank you! Thank you indeed..."
As she wiped her tears away she spoke that her name was Yur and that she had lived in this region since she was born, her mother passed away in the course of giving birth and her father eventually passed away years after from an illness. Only her older brother and she continued to take care of the little land they owned, but due to the high taxes of the kingdom, and the growing war they ended up consuming all their rations.
Ashkan then looked in his pocket, his former body had a few coins still stored and then gave all those coins to her.
"WHAT?" the girl could not believe it.
"S-sir, that's a lot-"
"Stay, take it as a reward for helping me and giving me the locket"
That medallion was a magic item that could slightly regenerate the user's mana, and also had a slight barrier in case of emergency, it was a weak item but coincidentally it was useful at that moment.
Without further explanation Ashkan took his course back to the centre, while the little girl was shocked at the value Ashkan had given her
"Three, three Real gold coins..."
VIIIth Century, year 63, Brumáire. Day 20. Pursuit of Quebelle.
She had just clenched her fist and punched with extreme force, and then the sound of crunching metal spread across the battlefield. A huge black crimson bubble popped around the soldiers that was hitting by Quebelle. As the dark blood bubbles came out of each soldier, the more terror spread through the enemy soldiers. With every scream of pain, the more the soldiers scattered and disorganised
"This body, is still far from reaching my peak, however it is quite practical for melee combat" smiled Quebelle.
They only gave the soldiers time to inhale for a second after the punch, and right after that their organs started to look for exit through their orifices, mixed in a jelly of blood, flesh and metal of their equipment. Their bodies were expressed internally and also externally by their fists. None of them were allowed to die without pain, and those left only watched the desperation of their colleagues waiting to be next
Quebelle was making her way in front of thousands of soldiers, finishing each one of them off without much effort, punches and more punches were deferred by her and in an instant more screams and susprios of pain appeared.
"Oh my god I don't want to die!"
"Somebody help me"
"Where are the generals? Why aren't any able to stop that woman?"
These were the pleas of the soldiers, who were desperate and without a commander to organise them.
Tears of blood streamed from his eyes and urine poured out through the openings of his armor, the scent of feces and blood now becoming common, and it mingled with the smell of metal. There was no doubt that it was an enormous pain, it was as if his soul was being crushed together with his body. If they could speak befor the rapid death, they would ask for mercy.
With time fewer and fewer soldiers remained alive, and some began to hide under the crushed bodies of their colleagues trying to play dead.

"Do you believe you will make it out alive?"
"Quantum" Quebelle conjured, all the dead soldiers that had been crushed began to float, gathering a few feet above the heads of the living soldiers, it was as if a gravitational force sucked and squeezed metal, flesh and blood into a giant ball of flesh.
With a subtle signal from Quebelle's hand that huge ball of flesh accelerated rapidly towards the ground, crushing those who tried to hide under the bodies of their colleagues.
The remaining soldiers who could still speak or at least utter sounds, were crying in fetal position, begging for mercy. Those soldiers full of sadism and pride were in a shameful situation.
"Mercy?, why, moments ago you killed without mercy and now that you know you have no chance to survive ask for something so noble"
The vision was always directed at that woman standing agains the crowd, but driven by his curiosity, the remains population, that was hidden rapidly directed his vision away, and saw the bodies of the soldiers who in a blink of an eye, had been silent and by every breach of armor skirt blood, but a crimson black blood. The silence continued, all soldiers were probably already dead, to where their souls were, that question was around the population, but the smell, the odor was something cloying, many citizens started a vomited. It was surely a delay of their system that was being suppressed by the terror of the image they had seen.. After a brief delay the crimson black bubble swallowed all the soldiers, there were none of them left, only their blood and armor remained on the ground.
Now there was no more doubt, the threat was "dead."
The danger that had almost claimed their lives was gone. But that was no reason for celebration. Now the doubt of what that powerful being could do with them.
They understood she as salvation but when he saw that scene she's really was a salvation? Could not he do the same with them?
Faced with the apparent fear of the population, she approached them...
"There is nothing to fear, I am the sword of King Regent Ashkan." Her subtle voice did not match what she had done a moment ago
Quebelle didn't hesitate to explain who she was, and that slightly calmed the populace?
"So the Regent King possessed a being of such strength?"
"I think he got help from some Neighbouring Kingdom"
Murmurs surged through the population that had gone into hiding. However Quebelle had nothing to do with it, her job was to be your majesty's sword, and that meant the political part was your majesty's job.
"Tsk, apparently with that body I won't be able to chase the other general."
Quebelle raised her hand with a gesture that showed it was an order.
"Return to your hidden, it's still dangerous out here"
None of them dared to go against her command and they quickly returned to their burrows.
"I think I should report to your majesty."
Quebelle in a flash vanished from the battlefield. In that moment she single-handedly decimated thousands of soldier, what she didn't know that represented almost a huge percent of the enemy's entire invasive force.
VIIIth Century, year 63, Brumáire. Day 20. Near the entrance to the Centre of the Capital.
With her forces returning he clung to a debris of a destroyed house with your vision slightly blurred, Ashkan was able to see a little of what had happening.
His heart had been filled with enormous calm, and this only increased upon seeing all the defeated enemy soldiers. He may did not know what exactly situation was like around the center, but he knew that this can be only done by Quebelle.
"So I did not fail to bring you back Quebelle."
Ashkan was extremely happy at this, only he understood the relief his chest felt.
In the midst of all the chaos, Ashkan noticed that there was one house still in good condition, it was a well-lined house, typical of some nobleman. There were probably survivors and it would be great to pick up some information that Ashkan didn't know.
VIIIth Century, year 63, Brumáire. Day 22. Near the entrance to the Centre of the Capital.
The news had reached the Kingdom of Austrelia Aquila had explained everything to the Great Generals and to the Grand General of what had happened. But he withheld certain information, and he also did not know the origin of that enormous power, who possessed it. His instincts warned him to keep certain information hidden, even from his superiors for the greater good of himself. Even with certain information withheld, it was still compelling and no one doubted at all that. Because Aquila was still a General, and a strong general. With this the notification reached the ears of Urias and the high-ranking nobles, who immediately ordered that nothing of this news get out of the Castle.
"Urias, I think it's time to back off, we do not have the strength to continue with one more battle front. The Western side is already succumbing and now this new threat that we do not know about the dimension is worrying. The right thing is to be cautious "
"Jess, tell me, do you think this Being is more powerful than me and the all great generals together?"
"I do not know, but I believe it is impossible, one of the great generals give around three generals, it is an astronomical sum in forces, it is almost the population of a Kingdom alone. In addition you have the strength of the nine together "
"So Bertrand ,do you know why even with all this military power we continue a Kingdom?"
"Urias, that's just it, our industries are behind schedule, we do not have good raw materials, and we do not go out to sea, either. Having a single military force does not let you get out of the protocol of a kingdom ... I understand how frustrated you feel about it, but having multiple battle front even with vast military power is Suicide! I continue to affirm, leave this Kingdom for a moment, there are not many advantages to conquering them now, besides having lost two good generals, we have lost more than thousand men ... this is terrible. "
"Argh, send the rest back, and concentrate those that retreat on the eastern front"
"My majesty, and the Western front, will you give them no rest?"
"Bertrand, the western front is already lost, let Gustav solve the diplomatic problems, if necessary give up the lands of Glumenor, and the most beautiful concubine, or servant if so the king prefers. It was a mistake to have entered so many front, my ambition took a bigger step than the leg, now let's focus on the eastern part and recover the injury, the men are boiling and do not know the defeat of the Western front, use as completed the goal and send they return gradually. "
"Alright, my lord"
And so all the general leave...
As soon as the Grand General went through the door, and it slowly closed
Only Urias and Jess remained in the room, Urias was frustrated, her plans were now totally disorganised. She placed her fists on the marble table, and light drops fell on the reports.
Jess saw Urias's suffering and didn't hesitate to hug her, and that made Urias fall into tears, crying like a helpless little girl.
"Why Jess, why?"
"Don't cry Your Majesty, you are no longer that helpless girl from before"
As Jess wiped away Urias tears, her fingers lightly traced the direction of Urias lips, with her other hand she grabbed his chin and brought it close to his mouth. Urias closed his eyes, and kissed Jess. Her kiss conveyed peace to Urias, and Jess was finally able to release her pent-up desires for Urias.
Lightly Urias's clothes were shed and they both began to kiss each other strongly, Jess with her left hand squeezed Urias's breasts, making Urias let out a moan of lust.
But Urias quickly interrupted.
"We can't do that Jess, not now!"
Jess merely agreed and accepted the step she was able to take.
"Kof kof! Well I believe I should go."
Jess left soon after that, however Urias leaned against the wall, touching his lips and imagining of the kiss Jess had given him.
"With you by my side Jess, I'm able to accomplish anything."
But immediately his thoughts returned to Florenz
...
"What the hell is this feedback of Aquila, how the hell does a useless kingdom of that one have such a powerful being?"
The Kingdom of Austrelia was a kingdom by protocol, it was one of the greatest military power, but far behind in economic, social and industrial matters. And this displeased Urias for him Austrelia should be a worthy empire, and could only achieve that by taking the industries and raw materials of other countries, the wealth for that human was something that was limited by nature.
And to carry out his revenge this was the only way.
-A few days later
Gradually the soldiers of Austrelia began to leave the Kingdom of Florenz, and this astonished the villagers who resisted with small militias.
A force of more than thousands men invading a small kingdom like Florenz was frightening and they were going away without motive apparently frightening even more.
By then the news would begin to echo over the mountains, rivers, valley and especially the plains.

Polyrhythm Time -- A Bard's Tail
Have you ever met someone who loves what they do so much that they'll skip sleep, food, love and safety to pursue it? What happens if that kind of person encounters a different dimension, yet holds on to their love of music, and specifically of rock drumming. When the world ended at the end of 2057, Kevin Snackenbridge slept through it. He'd been drumming all night. tl;dr-- System eats world -- Monsters and magic ---- LitRpg -- Practice, not levels and stats ---- MC Bard -- support class -- low power ---- MC chooses music over survival skills --tl;dr Kevin trips into the Internal Strength Dimension where Thaumaturgy is king. With the help of a talking plant and several vicious monkeys he learns that the rule is "Change or die." Kevin changes, but remains firmly a drummer/Bard in this high fantasy setting. This is Kevin's adventure, and that of the friends he meets. Kevin has the soul of a real musician. He loves music, specifically rhythm and drumming, and would give his left nut if it would help him drum better. He's a rock drummer, and his language is that of a rock drummer: slanged, duded, and frequently laced with profanity. He focuses on music, and makes decisions that even the author doesn't approve of. However, that means all his decisions are Kevin's decisions, not those of a system-optimizing power-gamer. There's points (All of Arc 2) where he wanders aimlessly. Goals seem foreign to him at points. What would you do if you were a musician, and the world fell apart and you no longer had an audience or band-mates. You'd be kinda lost. Kevin is. Arc 2 is a lot of Kevin not knowing what to do, going with the flow, and not being articulate enough to know that he doesn't know what to do. 1. 8 195Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******

8 185A series of Transmigrated Misadventures.
This is an original story about a sadistic and scheming human and his defective sometimes malfunctioning cube about how they travel to different worlds with different settings where they make people's lives miserable. Zhang Fei was anything but a normal person. He was a sadistic human who made the lives of his book characters quite miserable so when he died he was bounded to a system by The voice and entered the realm network. He got a second chance at life and could now practically make the character's lives a living hell but he soon found out that there is a downside to being a sadist as well. that's all folks , so the novel is a bit different from the normal system novels you read, the Main charachter isn't a good guy like in most novels, well he isnt a bad guy either, he is just a sadist. But the point is i tried to make the story as different as i could while still keeping the system/trnasmigration formula with it, so i don't know how you will interpret the story but i hope you still read it and enjoy it. i am not chinese so i might have butchered up the chinese names in the novel. and first time writing so if its a little bad please forgive me. And almost forgot any constructive criticism is appreciated. as it helps me know what i am doing right and what i am doing wrong and i have also posted the same story on wattapad.com. enjoy. Arc 1- [The Cube, The Sadist and The Villainess.] (COMPLETED) Arc 2-[The Lonely Island] (ONGOING) Writing in Quotation marks-"For dialogues of characters" Italic writing- For inner monologues and thoughts Bold writing in brackets- [For the dialogue of system]
