The Return

VIIIth Century, year 63, Brumáire. Day 14. Somewhere in the Florenz Kingdom.

The warrior stopped, exhausted and without strength, he only knelt down. At that moment his willpower has vanished. His eyes captured the view in front of him, but his brain would never accept that reality.

His body was without strength, his legs slightly spread, his heavy arms was touching the ground. It was as if a puppet master had cut his strings.

And There was a sword that stood out amidst the mud and blood. The polished sword, reflected the evening sun. It was a weapon that had probably not even been used once. That same sword absorbed the light to itself. A sword bathed in pure ore, striped with elven runes. A jewel. And that was exactly why this sword was so familiar to the warrior. This fact definitely determined that his greatest fear had come true.

Even though paralyzed, he rubbed his eyes in another attempt to tell himself that this cannot be true

"This can't be true, no, no, no, NO, this isn't true, No!" His voice began to accelerate, the tightness in his chest caused him to feel anxious, his eyes filled with water.

He kept repeating the same phrase to himself, almost like a mantra.

With each passing moment, more and more he denied it with all the strength he could muster.

"Kra" a loud sound of his lips being brutally bitten off by himself. He never thought that this can be happen.

Anger, sadness, disappointment were some of the emotions that echoed in his heart. And in that moment, he did what any human would do. Beg to the Gods.

His sister was dead. His beloved sister was on the ground, butchered, thrown among mud and bodies.

"Brother I brought red fruits from the forest"

"No brother, you can't start drinking early on Monday"

"One day I will become the strongest warrior in the kingdom!"

Her sister's sweet voice flashed through her head, her dreams, her dedication to her failed brother.

"Great Matre, great Matre, why have you abandoned me?"

Her dry voice, echoed amidst the battlefield.

His sister had been forced into this situation. After all, the military affairs of the kingdom were going to be increasingly neglected.

"That's? Is-is that? An army? It's nothing but a large, poorly organised milita" he sarcastically replied to himself.

It sounded like a joke, an miserable joke.

Maybe, just maybe, if he was a little stronger. He could have arrived earlier and saved his sister, he could have resisted his enemies and protected the person he loved the most.

"No, no, I never could" Deep down he knew he was incapable of change, he was never the talented type neither hard working. He lacked the training to go in brothel and never even received a punishment, after all his superior was his friend.

At that moment, the feeling of regret sickened his heart, which as a side effect brought his mind to the brink of madness. His breathing started to become out of breath, his organs throbbed, his skin began to whiten and his body trembled inexplicably.

After a while of waiting, his mind began to understand the symptoms. It was a symptom of fear, his instincts were warning him that something scary was approaching.

With every step that being made, the more chills his body felt.

"So that was the feeling my sister felt? And she still managed to raise her sword against it?"

That being was so close that its silhouette protruded in front of the warrior.

"So there was one more?" The being asked, with a voice that sounded like the barking of iron wolves.

"N-no sir, never, that must have been some one that managed to escape the front line" states the petty officer with a trembling voice.

"That feels like a joke to you, correct?" Interrupted the warrior. The warrior did not quite understand from where that courage to question that being came from, but that doesnt matters now.

A persistent silence isolated the environment, it was as if that being was quietly waiting for me to continue saying my regrets.

"You took everything from this village, you see that body there. It was Mrs. Maria's, the one who took care of me and my sister during the winter, that one under the mud was her husband who always brought bread for us to eat during the night". It was her home village, honest people who helped each other. And it burned her heart. Each breath became harder.

He could feel the indifference in that being.

"Of course, how can a being like you feel compassion?"

His mind fought against his body, he knew he needed to take some action, but his body couldn't stop shaking.

His sister and close friends had been killed without a shred of remorse.

Amidst the wailing, he stopped feeling his body. As if his body had created a life of its own.

He didn't understand, his gaze suddenly turned to that being, was it a human?

But because his gaze had turned to that being, he couldn't even turn his face away in fear.

"Too boring." That was the only sentence that being had spoken after listening to the lamentations.

They say that when you have your head cut off, you can maintain your cerebral activity for another eight seconds.

And in this short time the warrior understood what had happened, his head had become disconnected from his body, spinning in the air. That was what had happened. The warrior's head fell into the mud.

Everything began to darken, his body collapsed to the ground just like his head, to end the massacre of the village of Carnage. His body would join the mud, blood and smell of the corpses. The insects would soon devour every bit of it, and his story would never be remembered by anyone. He was finally dead, along with his sister, along with his village. Or maybe not.

VIIIth Century, year 63, Brumáire. Day 14. Somewhere in a village near the Kingdom Wall.

A girl in a small village on the border of the kingdom, was carefully trying to open her eyes that were soaked with blood pouring down from her head. Her first sight was of her broken arm. Her bones were turning outwards, forcing an exit in her flesh and skin. Small pieces of bone lay fragmented on the ground. The cells in her lung were begging for oxygen, she had probably lost consciousness due to the lack of oxygen. The pain she felt was so intense that her mind forced it to shut down. In the midst of it she cried for help, but her voice didn't possess enough strength to call out loudly for help.

She had never felt such pain, even when she broke her leg playing with her friends, or even when she was kicked by her grandfather's horses.

These comparisons were childish, in a way. But how could such a young person have more comparisons. This only showed how young she was, maybe even her adolescence was not over.

"You awake?" A soldier asked her, but his face didn't look like someone who was out to help her, his face showed a certain wickedness. They looked like hungry wolves that had just found great prey.

She wanted to scream for help but her voice was weak due to the lack of oxygen.

But she tried again. But this time the soldier put his dirty hand over her mouth, blocking the air from escaping, making it impossible for her to scream.

"Shiii, we don't want to make you black out again, understand?"

Her body started to shiver, she felt a dread that she couldn't explain. She wondered why the soldiers were taking off her armour.

It didn't make sense. And it really didn't, until her memories began to return.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!, NOOOOOOOOOO!. NOOOOOOOOOO!"

"I don't want again to feel his teeth biting my neck, his fingers penetrating my mouth, his sweat pouring over my body. Anything, but not this again, please, please, PLEASE!!"

Her scream managed to come out, she had remembered what happened to her and the symptoms her body was showing was signalling that it was going to happen again.

Something repulsive was happening and she didn't want that again.

"Please help me, someone help me. I don't want it, I don't want to feel his bites on my body again, his hand firmly touching my skin, I don't want it, I don't want it. HELP"

The trauma made her repeat again, and again what she said befor, her mental state was destroyed.

Her lung gathered all the oxygen it could to let out her cries for help.

The soldiers started lining up among themselves, there were all kinds of solidersy, the young one, the tall and thin one. It was as if they were queuing up in a bakery, each one respectfully waiting his turn.

Among them were soldiers, who on returning home would hug their children, would play with their daughters or become priest.

The soldiers jumped on top of the young girl's body, even with all the exposed injuries of the girl it didn't take away the excitement of those animals, that couldn't be considered human anymore. The girl's body had been thrown between them, that disgusting carnal scene played out for hours.

"My Matre, if it is your wish, I will go through this obstacle" The girl whispered to herself that sentence the entire time, her eyes had become empty of will. In the end she held in silence, holding on to her last string of hope, in a miracle from her Matre, that this was proof. Her virginity and innocence had been thrown into the mud.

As the girl's body moved due to the inertia of the soldiers' movements, she saw her entire village being looted and burned.

"What is the plan of the Gods?" She wondered in her mind.

Meanwhile the soldiers shouted in celebration, while others shouted:

"Shit, it's my turn now, you piece of shit."

"Keep it Easy, it's not like she's going to run away, she must be loving it"

Due to the constant friction her skin was beginning to tear.

She reached out her left hand amongst the mud, slowly pulling out a knife in the mud so the soldiers wouldn't notice. As she managed to bring the object close to her, in one swift stroke

swiftly pierced her heart. Maybe your Matre was doing something more interesting than help her.
