《Im a Kobold, So what》Chapter 1 Leaving Home

-CLANG CLANG- These sounds were heard everywhere around me in the mines thats home to my clan. All around little draconic beings swung their pickaxes down on the rocks and metal I was one of them It was dark but easy for us to see but most of all it was safe. That's why we stayed in these caves for many years.
"Hey Crimson how's it going"? I heard my friend Draco shout. Draco has always been the strongest of this generation he was as short as everybody was but his strength was abnormal thus he was dubbed Draco by the village chief. [Im doing good Draco and you]? I asked smiling at my long-time friend. "Just finished my combat training how about you did anybody pick on you today"? He asked this since I had abnormal deep red scales thus I was dubbed Crimson by our chief. Some of the others used to pick on me saying I wasn't a kobold but a big red lizard however they don't do that anymore Draco makes sure of it.
"Are you still planning on leaving the cave, it's really dangerous out there you know?" He said this with a concerned look on his face. [I'll be fine trust me I've been practicing my skills with a dagger you know]. Draco lets out a loud sigh "alright alright I won't stop you Crimson, however, you need to be careful of those humans just as much as any other monster". I smile happy about his concern towards me. [Thanks for worrying about me however I have already made up my mind] I pick up my bag and start heading over towards the cave entrance with my friend.
As we make our way over to the entrance I feel my friend hit me on the back, the force nearly makes me fall face first on the ground. [HEY WATCH IT YOU BRUTE I NEARLY CRACKED MY SKULL]! "Well it's not like you can lose any intelligence since you don't have any in the first place Crims". *Where did that heartwarming goodbye go to*? I ponderd to myself as I regain my balance. "Crimson make sure you come back got it". [Sure and you will be the first I come and see]. We bump fists with each other right before I make my way towards the entrance. *I see sunlight* as I got towards the entrance I finally found it the exit of the cave looking over the forest.

At first, all I could think is *What a beautiful sight* however that lasted only about a second. After that all I could think about is *AHHHH MY EYES THEY BURN WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AHHHHH*! I think I fell and started rolling on the ground for a good ten minutes however that's my pride speaking, it was more like a good thirty minutes. [HEY IF YOU LIVED IN A CAVE WITH NO SUNLIGHT FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE YOU PROBABLY WOULDNT GET UP AFTER AN HOUR]! *Wait what am I thinking oh nevermind its time to start my journey* With thoughts of future adventures on my mind I make my way down to the forest and go wherever the road will take me.

Horizon
Emiluna is about to turn 16 and gain access to her first two classes. Living in a small village in the middle of nowhere, she always wanted to become a Hunter. Having learned a bit under her parents, a miller and a seamstress, she was sure she could never pick a class that meant staying inside all day. But being a Hunter is more than just a class. It means providing meat for the village, culling small pests near the cultivated fields and most importantly guarding the village from predators and monsters. But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
