《Kitty Queen of Crime.》Of Goblins and Men part 4.

I smiled happily as I dodged for the tenth time. The old veteran, Liliac I think? Eh doesn't really matter I'll just call him nameless soldier. Perfect! Anyways the old goblin had been sparing with me for the last two weeks. I was so used to using high kicks and grapples to fight. Time here had taught me that grapples where useless when I was genetically weaker then everyone around me.
I learned to use my claws and fangs. It took me a bit, but I had adapted my fighting style for athletic maneuvering and quick deadly attacks. I pretended to scowl when the nameless soldier ordered "again!" As I dropped him to the ground. Honestly other then that cheating bastered Roland the others fell for my acting hook, line, and sinker.
It didn't help that I had reached level 9 in a shorter time then I expected. Roland had told me that once you gain your first level, most would reach level 10 about 2 to 3 months later. My leader class had reached level 12 under Roland's tutalge, while my alchemy had reached level 9. Not much time to make potions with all the training I had to go through.
After a couple more bouts where I dropped his jolly green ass, nameless soldier finally gave the reward I so desired.... FOOOD. The goblins may have some WEIRD meals. They where still tasty though even if every dish looked like it could murder me in my sleep.
I let out a sigh of relief when I got back to our cabin. As I stepped in I gave a silent nod to Harold who was getting ready for training himself. He gained a lot of muscle but still couldn't quite get the sign language I kept trying to teach him. Alas while a mystery to ponder I had work to do. Pulling out some ingredients I began to work on a Concoction I wanted to develop. It was combination of the slow mind water which allowed one to view the world in slow motion, but came at the cost of slowing one's heart beat. While fast water allowed someone to move faster at the cost of greatly increased heart rate.
I began the long lengthy process of refining Hercules Beatles and mana grass as the desk lighted with multicolored runes. After a bit of stirring the mix began to glow and congeal into a liquid state. I then added the main ingredients for slow water and fast water. The best part was while the effect might be of a medium level potion, the actual Waters themself where just natural. Meaning that it still counted as a lesser potion.

Once I was finished I poured the mix into the syringe and like any sane person with a potentially deadly chemical. I plunged it right into my arm.
The world around me slowed, but my heartbeat remained the same! Now one last thing to check. I dropped the syringe and watched as it fell slowly before my eyes. I cuaght it! The damn potion actually worked! It was a game changer and my bargaining chip to get access to the the tunnels.
The beautiful thing about this world was the lack of industrial level production. Which meant that a single syringe could go for a lot of money. It was quite litterly worth an a whole armies pay since someone could create potions without the bad side effects, better yet they would work better then ingested potions. It was so fun to make mon er revolutionize the world!
And as if to make my day even better a notice appeared before my eyes.
congratulations! For making a powerful Potion you have gained a level in the [Alchemist] class. [Alchemist level 2.]
[Craft:lesser potions] has advanced to [craft: Medium potions.] You may now craft medium potions.
Your total level is now 10. Your stat cap has raised to 30. Your next stat cap will occur at level 20.
you may now pick the following evolution paths [Tiger] [Cheetah] [House cat] you may choose your evolution path at any time. You will not be able to level until you do.
Hmmm an evolution path. I would need to ask Roland about that. For the moment though I simply relished the feeling of knowledge entering my head. Being able to craft medium class potions would be a wonderful way to experiment with the chimera potions. I was still disappointed at not gaining a level in that particular skill.
I made some more of the potion mixture I decided to call SPEED. Because I am original, don't mind all the bodies of those who disagreed. Once I had finished up, I went out the door packing up some odds and ends just in case. As well as stuffing a jar of the mixture and some syringes for when I talked to Roland today.
On a whim I decided to check my profile. I mean I did just level. Why not check how clearly superior I am to all other life forms.

The level up had also given 4 stat points. Each time I got them I noticed that I got less each time. But Roland had told me that stat gains would eventually only rise by 2 per every even level. Talking about the old bastered I would need to see him after I was done with the clinic. Or as they called it "The sanctum of rest" which was a dumb name and they should feel bad for even calling it that.
My time at the clinic was short. A quick polite greeting to Roland's wife as I began preparing the healing syringes, I dubed that batch "energy stick" before plunging the contents into the sick or mildly injured goblins. I made my way to Roland's office passing by other students (all goblins) as I walked through the wide corridors of the cave system.
Roland was sitting in his oh so comfy looking chair reading some weird old looking tome. When he noticed me at the doorway I saw him close the book quickly, but not before I noticed the images of a hoard of goblins in armor.
" Ah. Kitty what might I do for you?" The goblin said in greeting. Though we both knew why, it was nice that Roland pretended that he didn't.
"Oh just one thing.I leveled recently but noticed an evolution option?" I asked hoping he could provide some advice.
"Congratulations on reaching level 10 then. Hmmm, come, take a seat." The goblin motioned at the same chair I had done all my lessons in. I groaned inwardly. I hated having to climb on the damn thing. After a few seconds of dicculty I finally was able to sit down.
"Tell me. which options where you offered?" I told him and the goblin sat their scratching his chin. After a minute or two of wordless pondering he finally spoke.
"It is smart that you came to me kitty. But you'll likely want to choose now or as soon as possible." He puased to make sure I was listening before continuing on. "Each one comes with its own advantages. The tiger evolution paths for example works by boosting your natural weapons with active skills. While the Cheetah and house cat work through passive skills. For the cheeta you would likely recieve the [ Natural runner ] passive perk. While house cat would give [adorable Disposition] as well as offer stat boosts in the charisma field."
I Took a minute of reflection before choosing one, and at that exact moment the world faded to black.

The Spider's Lair (Vomit Draft)
A group calling themselves ‘The Starlight Spear’ ventures into a dungeon known as ‘The Spider’s Lair’ in the hopes to recover the treasure it possesses. Along with their newest member Morana, what could possibly go wrong? This 'Novella' -ha Novel* will follow the stories of a few main characters centering around a coherent plot. Theo Wood is an elf who joins a new criminal guild in the city of Leeside known as the 'Webbed Children', Sabrina Black is a young orphan girl developing strange new abilities, and Saurus, a Lord Commander put in charge for the recapture of Wetbrook--a town consumed by giant spiders! There will also be some interludes surrounding supporting characters. I'm using Royal Road to publish my first drafts, like throwing paint 'or shit' at a canvas to see what sticks. The writing quality will be the main focus in draft two (You've been warned), and I'm using the first draft mainly as a loose outline for the plot. I will also try and 'show, not tell' in draft two. This is my first attempt at a novel! Any help or advice is much appreciated! If you want to support me! Please follow, rate and comment, as this really helps me understand what to focus on in draft two. Thank you.
