(Ju Huang, younger sister of Ju Ping)

A month ago, I finally moved my ki for the first time. Following Sister Meifen I got it to leave my body's holes. It was too faint to even be visible, but Meifen said she could feel it. I could too after a while when I got sleepy and hungry. They celebrated with a lychee tart, and I got the biggest piece. I couldn't finish it, so my brother said “waste not want not” and ate it up in two big bites.

My brother is funny. When he sees me practicing he tries to distract me with things to play with that he thinks are appropriate. Sometimes mom sees and hits him. Then she explains to me that good people don't hit other people when I try to hit my brother when he brings more gross things.

I think Meifen is the one who makes the most sense. I like her, and she's nice except when she's showing me how to do something new.

When they left on their trip things got boring, so I went to play with my friend Mr. I. He really likes books, and was looking up the history of our village. If I could read that probably would be fun too.

He explained that our village and the two closest towns make up a county under the city of Baiwe. It was started by a great pioneer who built the first homes out of the shell of a massive turtle he defeated.

The shell is missing, but Mr. I hopes to find it. If he can he will figure out how strong the beast was and how strong our founder was. It may even have medicinal properties depending on its age.

I agreed that was important work. Not as important as my uncle's Dojo or my brother's druggie place, but still really important. So the next day, I dug up our yard looking for it. I found rocks, and worms and an old tin box, but no shells. I think my mom was also disappointed too, and demanded I dig somewhere else. If I knew where to dig I wouldn't have wasted time in our yard, mom.

Then I remembered my brother's place is important. Old things are always gathered in important places. I headed over to his shop and began digging there. He had a lot of interesting moss and stuff growing there, but no shells. Well, there was a snail shell, but that wasn't big enough.

Mr. Sum came by with a request and I explained how Meifei and my brother left to go find bad monsters. He was quite impressed with my holes and said I would become an expert treasure hunter one day. That's right. Mom told me I can be anything I want to be, and I have a nose like a dog. I manage to sell Mr. Sum the nice snail shell I dug up for a copper piece and rushed over to the trading post.

The mean man tried to drive me away until I waved my copper piece at him. He sold me some milk candy and told me I should go take a bath right away.

I'm sorry Mr. I, but I don't think I'm good enough to find your shell. I decided to leave one of the milk candies on my brother's desk. He needs something to cheer him up on occassion. I also think mom and dad didn't give him enough candy growing up. When he returns from his trips he'll sometimes give me such and such pill with blah, blah effect and smile at me like he's the best brother in the world.
