《Tartarus- A Prison Odyssey》B3 Chapter 16- The Sting

“Mm… So they’re fighting… that fight should be starting in the next half an hour, with the travelling speed…” Manticore spoke aloud, considering the reports from the battle field.

“I hope they’ll be okay.” Manticore finally spoke after a few minutes of thinking, not just speaking about those currently in battle, but everyone else fighting for their freedom…

But even as the words were spoken, Manticore acknowledged their hollow nature, for a battlefield had already been lost to the enemy.

Hoping for the wellbeing of the fallen… far too little, far too late.

If it weren’t for the necessity of his being here, guarding the Zeta Generator of Area two, Manticore would have much rather been on any of the other battlefields, supporting those who he called comrades.

That wasn’t in the cards though, and Manticore sighed at that fact… That’s when he heard the footsteps.

Calm, measured, with the associated ‘clack’ of boots, Manticore looked upwards from his seated position, seeing what had to be his opponent.

Armoured boots, a body suit that would have been risqué even on a man if it weren’t for the armoured segments, bulky, mechanical gauntlets, and a smooth, streamlined motorcycle helmet that reminded Manticore of a certain snake-eyed character from a very old cartoon.

“Girtablullu?” A really difficult to pronounce name aside, Manticore could see why he was the one sent to fight this person… the long, segmented, mechanical and whirling scorpion tail appearing from over Girtablullu’s back was a huge sign as to why Aaron would have asked Manticore to face this Babylonian Chained.

“Yes. I take it you would be… Chimera, right?” Manticore made to refuse, then sighed, the actions a tad exaggerated even as he stood, fastening his suit jacket which he had loosened before sitting.

“By Management terms, yes, I’m Chimera… though we’ve managed to find out that my name was swapped with the actual Chimera. They’re in some other place right now. I would be Manticore, more accurate in the mythological sense, you see?” Manticore continued, rolling his neck and lifting his shoulders, knowing the fight would be starting, whether he liked it or not.

It would not do for Manticore to lose a fight because his shoulder pulled stiff or something.

“That seems both tedious and pointless.” Manticore… couldn’t really argue with that, he had gone by Chimera up until the eventual acceptance of the name Manticore, but then again, few Chained, if any, were attached to their ‘name’.

The Chained were more accurately ‘titled’ rather than ‘named’ and thus Manticore had no love for his title.

“Regardless of how tedious or pointless it is… I am who I am.” Manticore added while raising his weapons, two knives, both sharp and dangerous, even when the light hit them it did not reflect, created and treated by Solomon to make sure the light would not give his position away if he needed to have the knives out while hiding.

“Excellent point. I’ll look forward to killing you though.” Manticore winced at Girtablullu’s words, the Scorpion Man raising his two fists, both covered in gauntlets with sharp edges, closely resembling the pincers of a scorpion, his own tail raising up behind him, whirring in a mechanical manner.

That was the only real different between the two, Manticore realized. Manticore was a Biological Chained, no doubt physically stronger, but the Scorpion Man was a Cybernetic Chained, no doubt having greater skill and precision than his biological counterpart.

It was precisely the type of argument that Aaron relished in, the theoretical discussions of man against machine…

That was a bit too close to ‘waxing poetic’ for Manticore’s taste, but he had developed a habit of speaking and even thinking like that with his talks with Aaron, the latter claiming it suited the assassin.

“I’d much rather be elsewhere myself though…” Manticore’s response to Girtablullu was met with the Cybernetic Chained dashing forward, tail raised behind him as he leaned forward, Manticore cursing as he ran forward himself.

The two both stayed out of punching or kicking range, both tails lashing out at the other, with Manticore continuing his path of attack and the Scorpion Man using his own tail to divert Manticore’s.

This gave both enough space to step in closer, Manticore stretching out with the knife in his right hand to stab Girtablullu in the throat, the Cybernetic Chained raising his own right hand and blocking the knife.

Manticore continued the attack instead of stopping, now trying to stab Girtablullu in the side, this attack also being blocked by the Scorpion Man, who then twisted his hands in an attempt to break Manticore’s arms.

Manticore jumped, moving with the rotation, looking as if he was doing a cartwheel on the spot despite the pressure on his arms and the wince in his face, his tail taking a swipe at the Scorpion Man’s legs leading to a disengage, Manticore landing calmly from his spin, Girtablullu leaping back a few metres.

It was fast, it was violent, and it let both of the fighters know that, not only were their ‘abilities’ similar, but they had a similar style of fighting too.

It only made sense though, as Manticore used his knives to pressure his opponents and hold them in place until his scorpion tail came into use, it was the same for Girtablullu with his odd gauntlets.

Manticore stepped forward, knowing of their similarities, but also noticing that there were likely an area or two where both were dissimilar.

Case in point, Girtablullu’s tail began to buzz with noise, swaying from side to side before the Babylonian Chained spun, the tail spewing a cloud of smoke, Manticore opening his eyes in surprise even as he stopped his run, back stepping away from the smoke.

For all Manticore knew, it could be something dangerous, not just a cloud of smoke… and just to be sure, he ‘burped’ some fire at it.

Being able to ‘burp’ fire was an ability Manticore would rather do without honestly, sure it was helpful at times, but actually ‘using’ said ability was horrible, not to mention implying horrible things about his internal organs and their volatility.

In an odd, yet slightly predictable turn of events, the cloud ignited, a shockwave of displaced air causing an effect not unlike an explosion.

Manticore allowed himself to feel joy at this, knowing that in the ‘rock-paper-scissors’ of powers, his won out destructively, or at least that one ability did.

The explosion did, unfortunately, distract Manticore from Girtablullu, leaving Manticore falling after Girtablullu slid next to Manticore, spinning and kicking in the back of Manticore’s leg, the Greek Chained’s tail immediately moving to kill Girtablullu.

The Scorpion Man’s own tail blocked Manticore’s, allowing him to raise one of his claw gauntlets in an attempt to hit Manticore in the side.

Manticore opened his wings, oft forgotten about due to his suit jackets.

Folding his wings against his form was easily done, and made Manticore appear more bulky than he actually was, with the slits in the jacket, his wings appeared easily, or at least one did, slapping into Girtablullu’s arm and deflecting the attack, both disengaging from each other with a roll at the unexpected attacks.

Manticore was wincing, already aware that he had panicked, resorting to using his wings and revealing them, regardless of information Management had on all the Chained.

Management created the Chained, it was expected for Management to have a good grasp on what each Chained could do…

With Typhon and Echidna, that grasp was easily shaken off, with previously deformed and monstrous Chained now appearing human, or mentally unstable and irrational Chained now capable of strategizing and focus…

Typhon and Echidna were force multipliers for the Chained, a way to make the knowledge the enemy possessed obsolete… but if Manticore kept being forced to reveal a trick up his sleeve, he’d eventually run out of tricks.

Girtablullu’s tail whirred once more, spreading the smoke, and Manticore hesitated to burn it once more, the ‘once bitten, twice shy’ adage coming up here, with Manticore recalling how Girtablullu used the explosion as a distraction.

It was only a moment, but it was long enough for Manticore to back away from the cloud, realizing that he was actually being silly thinking about getting close to Girtablullu.

Manticore was an assassin first, not a martial artist or brawler. Fighting was something he wasn’t even supposed to be doing… he was supposed to be striking a final blow and then leaving.

So in an unexpected manner, for his opponent it was unexpected at least, Manticore simply turned and ran to the nearest alleyway, leaving behind a confused Girtablullu who was quick to give chase.

It was definitely unexpected, what with Manticore being the defender of the Zeta Generator, a defender that abandoned their post would be considered inept in the majority of the world.

That wouldn’t quite apply here for Manticore though, as with his wings, he had already proven more mobile in comparison to Girtablullu.

If Girtablullu tried to show his back to Manticore long enough to change the settings of the Zeta Generator, that would give Manticore enough time to strike, taking out the Scorpion Man definitively.

And yes, there would always be a possibility that Girtablullu could provoke that response hoping for a counter… it wasn’t going to happen though, with Manticore being an experienced assassin.

If Manticore went for the kill, he had a good chance of making the kill, if not heavily injuring his enemy.

Girtablullu couldn’t let Manticore out of his sight for too long, and so the Babylonian Chained gave chase, running after Manticore with a split second of indecision giving Manticore enough time to start his ascent to the roofs.

“Hey, get back here!” Manticore smirked, he and his opponent both knowing that he wouldn’t turn back, and Girtablullu already chasing, tail whirring behind him ominously.

It took less than a minute for either of the Chained to be on the roofs, Manticore leaping from across the gaps with experienced footsteps, Girtablullu chasing from the back.

It was while being chased that Manticore ducked to a blind spot of a building, given cover by stairs leading up to the roof, mentally reviewing his map of Area two and smirking.

Girtablullu rounded the corner defensively, knowing that even in the height of the chase that Manticore was looking for openings, looking for opportunities to attack.

It was what saved Girtablullu from pain, the loud ‘bang’ noise and the smell of gunpowder helped Girtablullu identify what had just happened, beyond the round iron bullet dropping to the floor after his tail began to whirr again, a barely there indent showing where the bullet impacted against his tail.

“Well damn, I was hoping for more.” Manticore complained with a smirk, dropping the flint-lock pistol to the side without any fanfare, turning and running once more, leaving behind an open, empty box.

“Supply crates…” Girtablullu’s eyes widened behind his visor, glaring at Manticore as the suited man leaped to another roof.

“A home ground advantage huh… still going to kill him.” Girtablullu didn’t doubt his own abilities, acknowledging the abilities of his opponent and yet still seeing victory.

It was a chase worthy of an action movie, at least to those unfortunate enough to get caught up in it.

Girtablullu would get close enough to Manticore, faster on foot as he was, and try to hit the Biological Chained, only for Manticore to drop into the streets rather than continue his roof hopping.

And the streets Manticore chose to drop into frequently were not empty, prisoners and those of Management attacking one another and now being forced to be shields and weapons for the two fighting Chained.

Even as he held a man up to take a few bullets, tossing the corpse at Girtablullu to slow him down, Manticore had the presence of mind to realize that his actions weren’t painting a good picture for Chained…

It was always like that though, when giants moved they didn’t care for the ants they stepped on. And the Chains were metaphorical, and sometimes literal, giants within Tartarus.

The prisoners were on their side though, and Manticore did indeed try to keep them alive, but nothing was stopping Girtablullu from using Manticore’s own tactics against him, grabbing a prisoner, crushing her skull and ripping a gun from her hands and firing at Manticore, who once more had a human shield.

“Chained, Chained!” One of the prisoners screamed, the Management troops floundering at the involvement of these superhuman fighters…

Girtablullu was wide eyed when a brick hit the back of his helmet, knocking his head forward, and Manticore smiled, glad that he was not wrong in his thoughts.

The prisoners were used to the Chained. The Chained were an unfortunate ‘part’ of Tartarus and the prisoners had to live with and around the Chained.

Some Chained were violent, some were passive, and in the end prisoners had their own thoughts on them, but they knew of them and accepted them.

Every prisoner had at least interacted with a Chained once or twice, willing or not. The enemy had not, only knowing that their leaders were strange.

The result was that the prisoners were quick to move away from Girtablullu while maintaining their attacks on the Management troops, and some even started attacking Girtablullu.

The Babylonian Chained definitely didn’t expect getting thrown with a brick of all things, but what he had to do was clear.

Rushing at Manticore, Girtablullu had a clear goal of getting Manticore and himself away from the fights, clearly the better equipped soldiers had less teamwork with Girtablullu, whereas the prisoners would hamper Girtablullu.

Manticore had no way to completely stop Girtablullu outside of engaging him in combat, but that would also keep Manticore still long enough for the soldiers to shoot at him more accurately.

“Very well.” Manticore allowed himself to be ‘pushed’ away from the area, Girtablullu chasing after him as Manticore once more climbed to the top of a roof.

It wasn’t a short fight. Far from it, it was most definitely one of the longer ones among the fights going on through Breakout Day…

Manticore and Girtablullu were running across the roofs and while it was dangerous, both sides could admit that the encounter was becoming ‘monotonous’.

Manticore would pick up some weaponry, Girtablullu would dodge, they’d find a battle among the prisoners and Management, interfere for a bit, leave, and repeat.

It was a long, repetitive fight, and both sides were actually struggling to maintain their focus, occasionally reacting on nothing more than base instinct to survive a counter or unseen attack.

In fact, it was long enough that Manticore was mid leap when his earpiece buzzed, letting him know a message was going to be shared, taking a pot-shot at Girtablullu to maintain distance and get more ‘time’ to listen to the message.

“Report… we have lost an Area.” Manticore felt his heart turn cold as he listened, focusing on Girtablullu’s attempts at attacking him, while also listening to Aaron’s words.

It was… a sad, and depressing thing to hear, one that had Manticore wishing that he was not in Area two, instead that he was with his fallen comrades…

But he wasn’t. And Manticore still had a job to do, turning to face Girtablullu on a larger building, the roof wide enough to give either Chained ample room to move…

“Oh, you stopped running?” Girtablullu noted with interest, then raised a hand to the side of his head…

“Oh no wonder. You all probably have communication systems as well right? So you know what happened… feel angry?” Girtablullu asked, the lack of tone not even allowing Manticore to feel that the Babylonian Chained was gloating…

Girtablullu wasn’t, he was simply asking, in a matter of fact way.

It didn’t stop Manticore from feeling angry though, the assassin rocking on his feet slightly as he held his knives at the ready.

“Very. They were my friends after all.” Manticore said, and Girtablullu’s response was a widening of his stance, his gauntlets getting ready to be used.

“I get it.” That was all Girtablullu told Manticore before the two charged one another again.

As the Scorpion Man said, he understood, consummate professional he was, he also had friends, and he would also be angry at those who killed said people.

Granted, the only death Girtablullu cared about at the moment was Uridimmu, the Mad Hound was an interesting guy, not quite a friend, but Girtablullu did look forward to their spars and working together.

No clue how Uridimmu died though, and that was a tad worrying… but it was not a worry that Girtablullu could focus on, smashing his gauntlet towards one of Manticore’s knives, the assassin pulling the weapon back at the last moment.

A smart move, smashing a thin blade against a blunt force instrument was not a good idea, and Manticore had to maintain his weapons if he wanted to fight.

The result of the attack was Manticore pulling back his hand slightly, Girtablullu almost stumbling if he hadn’t accounted for the lack of resistance, and then another blow was coming.

Both of the fighters were fast, and tried to give surgical strikes, to the liver, aiming for the throat, under the armpit, occasionally dropping low and aiming for the ankle.

It was a dangerous ‘dance’ where the first one to make a major mistake would likely die, and every time a smaller mistake was made it would be punished with a bruise or thin cut, injuries slowly accumulating on both of the fighters.

“Report, Sun Wukong and Jormungand are engaging.” Manticore heard within his earpiece, filing away the information as ‘kind of important, but not now’.

The fight came first, Manticore dropping and kicking at Girtablullu’s knee in an attempt to crush it, the Babylonian Chained twisting so that the leg was brought behind him, whirring tail stabbing at Manticore, the Greek Chained rolling forward instead of back and bumping Girtablullu backwards, both taking the chance to maintain and create distance.

Girtablullu’s tail spewed out that fog of his, and unlike before, this time Manticore ran in, kicking at where Girtablullu was and getting an impact.

Girtablullu did not expect Manticore to run in, Manticore had spent the entire fight not wanting to get into a disadvantageous confrontation, and now Manticore was rushing headlong into one.

It was dangerous, and it was simply because it was dangerous that Girtablullu was kicked back, coughing a bit from the impact on his stomach, but still raising his hand in time to block an attack from Manticore using one of the gauntlets.

The fight within the smoke was a very different one to what was going on outside of the smoke, neither fighter able to fully see their opponent, only reacting on the vaguest idea of instinct.

‘If I were him, I’d do this’ and ‘if I do this, how would he react?’ were questions being constantly and repeatedly asked during the fight…

But there was a clear advantage on the side of Girtablullu, that being his helmet. Part of its functions were allowing him to see properly through the fog… it wasn’t working very well, not after he had gotten pelted with a brick to the head.

That function of his helmet was barely working, but it was working, Girtablullu would experience short, inconsistent flashes where could see Manticore clearly, and then adjust himself.

In comparison, Manticore had none of that as an advantage, having to rely on luck and experience all the time…

Noticing something was going wrong, Manticore finally decided to move beyond simply ‘smashing his head against a rock’ and leapt back, Girtablullu hearing the movement and hesitating for only a moment before moving backward.

That moment of hesitation was what led to Girtablullu flying backwards from the explosion that then occurred, rolling on the roof a bit before falling, the roof caving in from the force of said explosion.

Manticore himself didn’t escape unscathed either, breathing heavily and falling down into the building with Girtablullu, he didn’t have enough time to escape the blast radius himself after all.

Both fighters wanted to continue their offensives, but neither found themselves very capable of doing such a thing, still trying to stand after falling into the building…

Manticore was the first to recover, throwing one of his knives at Girtablullu, the Scorpion Man buckling his legs to fall under the apparently bladeless knife… it had most likely broken during the explosion, or possibly the fall.

Girtablullu managed to raise a heavily dented gauntlet to his face, Manticore’s foot knocking Girtablullu onto his back, the Greek Chained following after to continue the attack.

Coming close enough, Manticore struck with his tail, Girtablullu rolling to the side and onto his stomach, his own tail swiping at Manticore, prompting the Greek Chained to stumble backwards.

It was a bit of irony that the two technical fighters were both concussed, both injured, both tired, and now both were forced to resort to actions that wouldn’t be out of place in a bar brawl, with the addition of the extra limbs of course.

Stepping forward, and stabbing downwards, Manticore tried to kill Girtablullu as the enemy tried to stand, the Babylonian Chained managing to throw his arm against Manticore, Manticore now seeing that the dented gauntlet Girtablullu was wearing was now dented shut, it could not be opened and shut like before.

It was now a blunt weapon, no longer capable of being used as a vice, and clearly it was a demerit for Girtablullu, his arm sagging with the weight of both Manticore’s arm and the broken gauntlet.

Lifting his left hand, Girtablullu drove his other gauntlet into Manticore’s stomach, the assassin groaning in pain and stumbling backwards, tail stabbing into the ground to keep him from falling over.

It was good that Manticore still stood, it let him use his wings as a shield when Girtablullu raised his broken gauntlet in an overhead smash, the impact having a crack sound emanate from Manticore’s wings, the assassin shouting at the pain, at least one of the wings broken from the impact.

Girtablullu’s own attack threw him off balance though, and Manticore drove a knife into the exposed shoulder of Girtablullu, the Babylonian Chained letting loose a cry of pain of his own.

Both were too tired, too wounded, to dodge and escape the attacks of the other as they did before, blocking was something that was barely accomplished without falling over, and yet the strength of a Chained could not be denied, their attacks were overwhelmingly damaging, even weakened as they were.

Girtablullu reached over with his left arm, wrenching the blade out, and letting it clutter to the floor before stomping on it, breaking the blade and removing Manticore’s last weapon.

“…Fuck.” Girtablullu groaned out, huffing, breathing heavily with the occasional freezing, jerking breathing which showed the spikes of pain he felt, the very act of breathing exacerbating his wounds.

“…same…” Manticore groaned in turn, his wings cradled against his form, he couldn’t fold them as he did with them injured, one even had the tip dragging on the floor as he stood, his legs spread and tail keeping him upright.

“I definitely…didn’t expect… this much… pain.” Girtablullu groaned, his leg twitching before he took one pained step forward, Manticore slumping forward, his tail removing itself from the floor and arching over his head, pointed at Girtablullu.

Manticore didn’t grace Girtablullu’s words with a response, just taking a step forward in turn.

Both knew they couldn’t keep this going, regardless of what happened in the next moment, it was definitely going to be the end of the fight.

Both stepped forward, into striking range, and Manticore lashed out with a fist, aimed precisely for Girtablullu’s throat.

Girtablullu’s upper body swayed, and he managed to dodge the punch, launching one of his own with the dented gauntlet on his right arm, Manticore catching the hunk of metal before it go into his side.

Both stumbled, Girtablullu from dodging, Manticore from blocking, and then threw themselves forward with a punch from each, both landing against the stomach of the other, a wet cough coming from both, Manticore spitting out some blood, and were he not wearing a helmet no doubt Girtablullu would be doing the same.

Then their tails moved, both aiming for the chest of the other, the tails hitting one another and resulting in even more knockback, both fighters stumbling back.

Manticore then ‘burped’ a ball of fire at Girtablullu, knowing the attack wouldn’t do much to Girtablullu without his smoke being available for the explosion, but it was a distraction, Manticore falling forward into a crouch.

Girtablullu missed Manticore’s crouch, raising his broken gauntlet to block the flame, he did manage to see what Manticore was trying to do though, Manticore’s tail going forward, and Girtablullu raising his own in turn.

There was contact.

Both fighters stared at one another, a still moment as the dust settled, and then Manticore coughed, blood dripping from his mouth as he fell back onto his rear.

Girtablullu raised his left arm, slowly, and oh so painfully, to remove the scorpion tail which had punched through his left shoulder, each bit of movement driving a spike of pain through his skull.

“I told you… I would win.” Girtablullu spoke, looking at the dying form of Manticore… the rod of metal sticking through his chest leaving him unable to breath, no doubt having a fully punctured lung, maybe even a nick in his heart.

“…” Manticore’s lips moved, but nothing was said, the assassin holding onto the rod of metal, gasps leaving his lips as he felt himself dying bit by bit…

Manticore hadn’t expected it, and that was why Girtablullu won. The two fighters both had hidden cards that were slowly revealed throughout the fight, Girtablullu’s smoke, his gauntlets, Manticore’s wings and fire breath, the two sharing the ‘tail’ trait…

But their tails weren’t just flexible skewers or blunt weapons, both fighters had more to it than that.

For Manticore, his sting poisoned those hit, and even now Girtablullu’s vision wavered, as a Cybernetic Chained he was much more susceptible to poison than a Biological Chained…

But for Girtablullu, the spike of his tail, which could also spew the smoke he used as cover, could also be launched. It was what allowed his victory, Manticore moving first, but Girtablullu was able to retaliate with a strike that left little to no sign it would occur.

“This… doesn’t feel… like a… victory though.” Girtablullu stumbled over to a wall, leaning his back against it and sliding down to a seated position, looking at the dull eyes of Manticore.

“…Report… killed Manticore… dying though.” Girtablullu reported to his communications, already feeling his vision growing dim, a growing pain in his chest, each beat of his heart giving more and more pain… until it all began to dull.

Within Area thirteen, Jaeger looked at his communicator, still a part of Management communications due to their not knowing that he was a traitor yet.

Jaeger had heard the announcement, and blinked, recalling Manticore, the assassin that Jaeger had very rarely used to contact Aaron, handing supplies through drop points.

Manticore was not one of Jaeger’s ‘acceptable’ Chained, and he wasn’t truly friends with the man either, but Jaeger would honour his current alliance with Aaron.

“Got a report here. The fight in Area two was a draw. Manticore and Girtablullu are dead and dying respectively.” Jaeger spoke into the phone he used to contact Aaron, leaving it to the ‘commander’ to report the results of the battle.

“…Fuck… I see… thanks for letting me know.” Jaeger didn’t say anything more than that, putting the phone down to the side, and then looking up at the opening door.

“…Hey. What the fuck are you doing, just sitting here?” the man spoke after a moment, inhaling some smoke from a cigarette and then dropping it, crushing it as he spoke.

“Oh? I could ask you a similar question… what are you doing here, when Gilgamesh ordered you to interfere with Area seven or one, Leviathan?” Jaeger asked the second highest ranked Chained amongst Gilgamesh’s forces, the ‘biker’ like man scoffing.

“…Yeah, that was a dumb question, wasn’t it?” Leviathan ‘asked’ as he ran a hand through his hair, having grown it out during the past few months into a ‘rocker’ look.

“…yeah, it was.” Jaeger agreed, standing up slowly, the power-suit he wore flexing across his form while letting his left hand drop to one of his guns.

“We both understand what’s going to happen here.” Jaeger added, and Leviathan nodded.

They were both disobeying orders, and for the same exact reason.

“Yeah… we’re going to be trying to kill each other.” Leviathan nodded, dropping his right hand and raising a canister filled with his blood, the canister opening and leaving his hand covered in blood, the ball lengthening and narrowing until a blade of blood covered his hand.

“There was never any other option for us.” Jaeger agreed, raising a baton in his own right hand, not willing to use a blade against someone who used bleeding as a weapon.

“Too true… you hear about Manticore?” Leviathan asked, almost conversationally, and Jaeger nodded.

“I really wanted to be the one to kill that guy… but seeing as he took out someone with him, I guess I can accept that the guy was a badass.” Leviathan spoke, and Jaeger narrowed his eyes, wondering why this was being mentioned.

“Where was I going with this again? …oh yeah, I got it. Manticore wasn’t surprised when I showed a ‘new’ power. So that had me thinking…” Jaeger spoke, then he gestured with a hand, a group of people entering the room behind him, and Jaeger’s eyes widened, recognizing that they were some of Leviathan’s own mercenaries.

“Odysseus probably figured out what I can do, better than I did… so I spent a lot of time figuring out what the best thing I could do would be.” Leviathan then raised his left ‘hand’, Testament, and clenched it, the bodies around him bursting into gore and viscera, the blood swirling around him.

“Then I remembered that weird form Typhon showed against you back then… why can’t I do that?” Jaeger’s eyes widened as the blood pressed against Jaeger, covering his form entirely…

An armour of blood.

Jaeger cursed under his breath, realizing that Aaron’s theoretical ‘strongest Leviathan’ was actually becoming a reality… at least he wasn’t doing the ‘army killer’ Leviathan.

This fight was going to be… well, difficult was an understatement.

Quarter past seven in the morning. There were still over seventeen hours left for Breakout Day.
