《Lives Of The Immortals - Rise Of The Strongest Magician》CHAPTER 003 - DESPAIR

He puts his quill down, puts his elbows on the table, interlocks his fingers and focuses his attention on me. Even though he is just sitting there looking gentle, I can tell that he is a muscular and intimidating man. The only people I can compare to his physique are the best warriors which I have seen in the capital.
Moreover he isn’t even wearing some kind of a fancy armor yet still this man seems far more intimidating than those top tier warriors. And eventhough he is looking at me normally with no malice in his eyes, infact I feel that he is looking at me gently yet still it makes me feel suffocated like I am just a speck passing by him.
He stares at me for a while and I stand still trying to match his gaze with mine but am unable to. So I just grab my makeshift weapons tighter to calm myself.
While I am at it I notice more details about him. His eyes seem kind. His hair suggest that he is old as all of it is just white even his stubble. However his physical appearance does not suggest him to be old in any way. The only wrinkles I see on him are at the edge of his eyes and even they are countable on one hand.
“Are you sure that ‘he’ is the one you mentioned?” He says to the one sitting near the window.
“Yes.” The person sitting by the window answers in a calm and peaceful voice while still staring out the window.
“I don’t believe it. How can this weak little boy be similar to my precious and special little princess?” The white haired one replies in a disbelieving tone while gesturing towards me with both of his hand and an expression that suggest that he is being lied to.

“Their paths are similar. Their choices are similar. As well as their destiny.” Answers the guy sitting by the window without even bothering to look elsewhere.
“And you are sure that you are not mistaken?” Asks the white haired man making a doubtful face.
The man by the window does not reply the white haired man. He finally stops looking out the window and stands up. He turns and approaches us. His every movement seems graceful. He seems familiar.
Oh! He seems to be the same man who rescued me.
At that time I did not get a good look at him because I was fighting to keep conscious but now that I am able to clearly see him, my breath stops. This man is not handsome. No. He is even beyond that. I have no words to describe him. Even looking at him brings me peace and makes me feel empowered.
He does not look like any man I have seen before. I think he belongs to some other far away country because he is definitely of a different origin.
But even so, he looks breathtaking to me. Especially his eyes. I have never seen such eyes. Not even the girl outside had such eyes. The eyes that she had were unique as they changed with her hair. However the eyes on this man are of a beautiful purple color and it seems as if the purple in his eyes is moving. However what makes it more special is that they are drawing me in them, promising me answers that I want and adventures that I seek.
He approaches me and looks me in the eyes.
Then he turns to the white haired man and says, “Yes I am sure.”
“But still! Why would you take him in? Wouldn’t it be better to leave him out there?” The white haired old man says, clearly looking displeased with me for some reason.

“Because I do not want to leave him astray like you do your daughter.” The handsome man replies calmly.
The white haired man promptly replies in an annoyed manner with a sour look and hands folded on his chest while looking sideways, “My daughter is fine. You just don’t know her like I do. You are worrying uselessly. You’ll see.”
“Do as you wish my friend for I have warned you.” The handsome man replies in his usual calm tone.
However the atmosphere in the room suddenly got cold eventhough nobody in the room moved even a muscle, even I am holding my breath.
I can sense a feeling of despair arising within me and I even know that the reason for it is the white haired old man.
