In order from left to right Human 1 is a 5ft 7 slightly chubby male with black hair, brown eyes, and a wicked pair of short swords, Human 2 seems to be the leader and is a 5ft 11 thin male with blonde hair, green eyes, and a mean look backed up by a giant glowing axe, Human 3 is a female who probably worked as a librarian or teacher she is 5ft 8 with black hair and sharp light brown eyes covered by glasses her weapon is a giant staff with skulls carved into it.
After revealing themselves almost all of the mercenaries began to move back with the exception of John, Riley, Drven, Sven, and Elden.
Human 1: “Kukukuku! Look upon us and tremble we are humans! Not only that but we also possess immense amounts of power and we are employed by demons those who wish to give up now are going to be allowe-“
John getting ticked off by these guy’s antics removed his cloak and stepped forward to face the humans currently threatening the caravan. It came as a massive surprise to everyone on both sides as again with the exception of John’s group everyone was looking at him in awe.
Human 1, 2, and 3: “…”
Human 1: “erm- that’s unexpected eehehehe we weren’t informed that there were other humans..”
Human 2: “Erm suddenly I feel less like fighting these guys… ehehe”
Human 3: “Pff, c’mon you wusses he’s probably new to this world, besides we all have different powers there’s no way he’s stronger than all three of us and this army of monsters.”
From this interaction John realized the female is clearly the brains of that bunch, which figures considering she looks the oldest, after sensing the danger coming John quickly readies for battle.

Human 3: “Oh it seems we forgot to introduce ourselves just so you know who defeated you my name is Chel”
Human 2: “I am Drax the strongest of these three!”
Human1: “Oh erm my name is Hirama.”
John: “Look guys we don’t have to fight y’know I’m just trying to escor-“ *KABOOM*
Chel launched a massive dark explosion right into the center of the caravan and in the next instant all hell broke loose.
John, noticing the oncoming projectile, immediately set up a massive wall of dirt to protect himself and Riley while simultaneously creating a dirt pillar for Drven to shoot enemies from.
Chel: “Damn he survived…”
Drax: “Easy Chel we can’t expect him to go down that easily keep bombarding them.”
Chel: “Easier said than done get in there and kill them!”
Drax: “Alright Hirama let’s do this!”
Hirama: “if you say so…”
And so it began the one armed cloaked bodyguard pointed towards the caravan and all of the Monsters charged.
John: “ALRIGHT Riley; I’ll obstruct the terrain and provide shields for you, Sven; take out as many as possible with your fire magic! As for the rest of you, CHARGE!”
On John’s command Riley ran straight ahead glowing a bright blue while readying up her throwing knifes, John began to glow orange while manipulating the terrain around the monsters slowing them and disrupting their movements while giving Riley protection and stable footing.
Drven began shooting arrows providing cover for the various mercenaries who began to confront the monsters.
Meanwhile Sven began to launch various fire magic spells towards the various small monsters eliminating Groups of them all of once.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5
