Ch#13 Assassination
Jack groaned with pain, when he looked up, what he saw was a burry image of Muzaz slowly walking toward him.
“Pixie why didn’t I see him, how can he be so fast” asked jack
Pixie looked extremely anxious as she looked at jack “master it’s not that he is very fast” she said “it’s just that you were unable to see him, or more specifically your senses were intervened with”
“My senses? But how?” jack transmitted, but when he concentrated his heart went cold he felt that aside from the pressure he felt from Muzaz there was another formless force that specifically targeted his eyes and ears how sinister and ruthless he thought.
“I think that there is someone else here in the crowd, someone with a psychic ability” she said, gravely.
“A psychic?” jack was bewildered “but why would they target me, am I that strong” said jack
“I don’t know” pixie shrugged her shoulders “I think they don’t plan to beat you” she said in an ice cold tone “I think they plan to kill you”
Jack felt completely afraid “kill me? Why”
Pixie glanced back at Musad “I think it has to do with your friend Musad, he doesn’t seem to be of ordinary origins”
“Musad” jack also glanced into Musads direction but all he saw was blurry silhouettes of people clapping cheering and shouting.
“So you are telling me that, he hid something’s from me” said jack
“Probably” replied pixie
Jack sighed as he thought about Musad and his situation well everybody have some secrets he thought also that old man did warn me about this.
Jack bit his tongue in an attempt to sober himself up, he looked towards Muzaz his expression piercing and determined.
“Want to kill me huh” he murmured “well bitch it aint gonna be that easy”
Muzaz looked shocked as he saw jack standing up and looking at him with his piercing gaze, he felt a twinge of wariness toward him… he truly is extraordinary with a strong body and such an impressive will power and a mysterious backing, no wonder Mr. Watson wanted me to kill him, and without any suspicions also sending that psychic over… that guy is truly frightening he shivered as he thought about the psychic… well too bad for you kid no matter what you are going to die today

“Oh you’ve got some ability brat standing up after getting a punch from me” Muzaz said as he approached jack who looked pale with blood dripping from the side of his mouth. A sinister smile etched on his face well brat lets have some fun before we kill you he thought
“Hey pixie the psychic he can’t do anything to you right” asked jack
Pixie looked at jack a bit confused but when she saw his seriousness she nodded” yes, his intervention does not interfere with my sensory abilities” she replied
Jack eyes revealed a hint of excitement as he heard pixie “so, pixie can you predict for me the trajectory of Muzaz next attack” he asked
“well master, although in normal circumstances I might be able to do that by analyzing the movements of energy particles, but right now he is way too far from you and there is also a psychic energy in the surrounding, although it does not interfere with my senses but to calculate the trajectory will be close to impossible” she said
Jacks excitement seemed to have died down “so, you are saying that you can’t?” he questioned
“no master, what I meant was that you are very far form Muzaz if you close the distance between him and you, the interference from the psychic will be much less due to the density of energy particles near Muzaz, so In that case I might be able to predict his blows trajectory, but the downside of that will be that you yourself won’t be able to see Muzaz due to the short distance” she said” but why do you want to know? Would you have found a way out master?” she asked excitedly
Jack looked at his hand which was holding a pitch black pendant his eyes flickering with excitement and determination. “Yes” he transmitted “well maybe, I thought that if this pendant is so legendary it must at least be able to with stand his blows”
Pixies brows were pinched together as she contemplated “hmmm I think master must be right, but I still think that it’s a bad idea” she transmitted
Jack smiled “don’t worry pixie I have a feeling that it will work, just trust your master” he transmitted

“Ok” pixie nodded her tiny head her eyes red with tears “pixie will do her best” she said
“Alright let’s play” jack murmured as he stared at Muzaz, all the talk and planning took a few breaths of time as they were information transmitted through their brains.
“Well kid looking at you, I can see that you have some ability” he said “so considering that I am an magnanimous man I shall give you a chance at living” he said while opening his arm wide looking honest and forgiving
Jack eyes slanted as he snickered, hmnf acting all good and honest, you think I am a dumb donkey to fall in to your trap.
“What do you mean” asked jack looking conflicted
“Hmm a good boy, all you have to do is kowtow to me three times and shout I am a dog that doesn’t know his worth” he said as a cold look appeared in his eyes
Thought so jack murmured
“Alright, do you want me to say it out loud?” asked jack
“Well of course” said Muzaz as he smiled coldly
The surrounding all burst into laughter, as they jeered and threw curses at jack
“That brat is going to get it now” said one of the boys
Jack was just 2 meters away from Muzaz as he felt that the invisible strain on his eyes and ears have been removed “pixie you ready” jack transmitted as he operated his senses to the limit.
“Yes master” pixie said as she clenched her tiny fists.
Jack closed on Muzaz to get a good view of him as he bent down, but instead of kowtowing he spat in front of Muzaz “the fuck do you think you are prick, you want me to kowtow to you, you must be dreaming you piece of sh*t, you want me to be you dog, hmnf why don’t you go and eat my crap” spat jack as he looked straight into Muzaz eyes
Muzaz looked a bit baffled as he heard jack, then a frighteningly cold killing intent burst out of him as he started to pressurize jack
“The f*ck did you say, you want to die… brat” he said coldly
“Why would I” said jack as he sucked in a large breath “ELDER SAVE MEEEEEE!” he shouted
Shit how his voice can be so loud thought Muzaz Got to finish him before the elder comes
Muzaz lunched at jack punching at his head with a full force blow, jack only heard the whistling of the air and a overbearing pressure envelope him his heart shuddered with fear but a cold smile was etched on his face.
“Where” he asked
“At your head master take 2 steps to the right and the trajectory will be to your chest at the pendant” pixie transmitted back
Hearing pixie jack moved two steps to the right making his chest fall into the punch range instead of his head, when the punch connected there was no voice no sound as if it didn’t touch with a body rather a pillow
Jack was blown back as he landed on the ground on both his feet his eyes flashing with excitement it worked it freaking worked he thought
“ELDER HELP MEEEEEE!” jack shouted once more.
Before Muzaz could comprehend what had just happened, he was shook awake by jacks loud shout, so he once again launched himself at jack with a punch aimed at his head but just like before the punch landed on jacks chest and nothing happened, jack was blown away as he landed on the ground with a single foot and a knee to support…
Shit where the elder is, if I am blown one more time even if nothing happens to other parts of my body my legs will definitely break he thought
“ELDER HE IS GOING TO KILL MEEEE!” jack shouted with all his might for a single last effort.

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
