《A World Beyond》Chapter 14.5 There's Nothing Better Than Camping!

“Hey wake up…”, Hiro felt someone shake his shoulder a man called out to him once more, “Come on now wake up...”
The before he could open his eyes, he felt himself being flung into the air as a female voice shouted, “He said wake up!”
Hiro opened his eyes as he was swirling through the air before he fell into a shallow river below. He sat back up and looked back at his companions, “That was rude.”
The short red-haired female dwarf in front of him who had just thrown him all the way into the river along with his tent crossed her arms, “The ya shoulda just woken up!”
A purple robed white-haired elf walked up from behind the short female dwarf and patted her head, “Calm down Suri, give him a break.”
Suri hit the white-haired elf’s hand away, “Shut up Albis!”
Then sudden a blonde haired woman in silver armor walked towards the river and clapped her hands, “Now now, play nice you too.”
Suri turned around and her eyes sparkled, “Ah! Princess!”
Suri walked over and gave the Princess a hug, and the princess gently caressed her hair. Hiro walked out of the river, his body exuding a golden radiance causing his clothes to instantly dry and together with Albis he walked over and kneeled down, “Greetings, Your Highness.”
The Princess smiled wearily, “How goes the training Albis, Suri.”
Suri raised her head, and replied, “It’s been horrible, for a man whose inherited the memories and techniques for eight heroes all he can do is use his absurd amount of mana to brute force his way through everything.”
The princess sighed and shook her head, “Suri just because he possesses their memories doesn’t mean his body is capable of executing their techniques.”

“But this is the Hero we’re talking about! He should be stronger than anyone else, faster than anyone else, and his technique should surpass everyone else! If he’s not stronger than Albis, he should at least be stronger than me especially if he’s going to wed you, princess, right...”
Suri turned her head as she was still hugging the princess as she glared at her back at Hiro. Hiro was rendered speechless, and Albis merely laughed wearily before saying, “Anyway you’re highness we should really get back to training.”
Albis stood up and raised his hand causing his staff to fly out towards him from their camping grounds. However as Albis raised his staff to cast a spell, Hiro who was standing in front of him was suddenly flung back across the river.
Albis looked at this wide-eyed before turning his head, “Suri!”
“Let me have a go at it!”
“You went last time! Also, give us a warning next time! Are you trying to kill the Hero or something?”
Suri laughed as she easily held her massive hammer twice as large as she was on her shoulder, “No Hero is that easy to kill.”
Suri motioned her head towards the spot the Hero landed, and as he laid buried in the ground covered in his own blood a golden light began to gather around his chest. An amulet flew out from under his shirt and shone brightly.
Suddenly a golden Halo formed over Hiro’s body and all of his wounds suddenly disappeared. Hiro immediately got back up and a pair of golden wings unfurled from his back. He raised his hand causing golden rays of light to gather.
But as these rays began to take the shape of a sword a massive spear was suddenly flung towards Hiro to duck which interrupted the formation of the sword. Suri charged forward covered in a white light shouting, “Too slow!”

She swung her massive hammer and Hiro formed a golden shield on his right arm taking the blow and being flung through the trees. Hiro’s halo formed again healing his injuries, but before he could fully heal, several large axes and swords were thrown towards him.
Suri shouted, “Do you think someone would have given you the time to summon your artifacts in an actual battle!? You need to reach your optimum state in an instance.”
Suri dropped her massive hammer and it disappeared into the floor, she then stuck both hands into the dirt and pulled out two giant gauntlets and smashed them together, “You better get ready for a beating young man.”
Hiro finally summoned his golden sword, and he charged Suri, but as he flew through the forest he suddenly felt his world spin as he heard someone shout, “Wake up!”
Suddenly Hiro felt hit the floor and as he looked around Owen was there with several other instructors and they were in the middle of the forest. Owen looked at all the magical knight students he’d tossed down and said, “Surprise survival boot camp time!”
Hiro slowly got up and dusted the dirt off his clothes, as he mumbled, “How nostalgic.”

A Universe of Bloody Evolution
The Void was never meant to be opened to the Multiverse. The horrors waiting inside it should have never seen the light. And yet, the biggest mistake in the history of creation led to the impossible. In an event later known as the Outbreak, gates appeared in the first Universe, and with them, the Void was free. For ages the Void destroyed universe after universe, spreading its power in every direction, leaving only death and pain behind. But before every Universe met its end, it still had a chance. A small part of the population that survived the initial Outbreak and was granted a mysterious System to help them fight against the dangers that came from the Void. They were the Multiverse's last hope even if they couldn't stop the collapse of their own world. And so the cycle continued until the 36th Outbreak came. Leo Hale, a young reporter from Wolford, was one of the lucky ones to survive when the majority of Earth's population turned into monsters straight out of nightmares. Thrust into a constant battle for his life, Leo was determined to push forward and find his remaining family. Even if it meant sacrificing what was left of his humanity. After all, you either adapt or die. Story of progression and evolution with my take at the post-apocalyptic genre. Unlike most monster evolution stories where the monster rushes to gain human form, here I plan to do something quite the opposite. After all, in a world where almost everything wants to kill you, being human can be hard. Warnings are here to give me the freedom to write whatever is necessary. This is my first original novel. Also English isn't my native language so any feedback is welcome. Remember that even if initially this story takes place on Earth, fictional places, streets, etc will appear. Release Schedule: Monday - Wednesday - Friday Average chapter length: 2000-2500 words (There might be exceptions as is the case with some of the first chapters - most of them are longer.)
