"So what's the problem?"
Peter took a sip of his coffee. Setting down the cup of coffee down, Peter began talking. "The problem is the high-ranks amongst the guardsmen are being bribed," He said.
Silent filled the room.
"So what?" Lupin asks breaking the silence. "Doesn't every guardsmen has someone that takes bribes?" The wolf beastman said before drinking his own cup of coffee.
"Yeah, doesn't that happens all the time?" Lester said.
"Doesn't Riverwood have all guardsmen to make some sort of oath to not takes bribes or does that break the laws or else they will be teleport into a prison cell?" Brick asks.
"What?" Lester asks confused. He turns to Peter. "That's true?"
Peter shook his head. "No, that's not true. If that was true then we would have everyone to make the oath," He said. "The problem is not just that the higher-up is being bribed, the problem is that they're being bribed to have the guardsmen turn a blind eye from the disappearing people."
"Disappearing people?" Lupin asks. He turns to Drake. "You heard anything about this." He asks Drake. Drake shook his head. "And what does that have to do with us?" He asks Peter.
"I thought it had nothing to do with you guys at first," Peter said. "You see, two months ago, some informants noted that some strange men in black suits with a symbol of black ashes on their shoulders that were armed appearing in the slums, and every time they appear, dozens of homeless, and orphans disappear and they thought I should investigate it," He explains. "I did and found clues that lead to the missing people being taken to Bronach. I decided that it was bigger than me and reported it to the higher-up."

Peter then starts to frown. "However, when I reported it to the higher-up, they told me to stop my investigation on it or else I'll be fired. They then proceed to erase everything about the missing people. He said.
Peter took a sip of his coffe. "I was lucky that they didn't thought of killing me," He said.
I didn't stop and continues investigating both the missing people and the higher-up. After all, people were still disappearing in the slums. A week after the assassins attempting to kill you guys, I managed to overhear a conversation between the captain and someone and recorded it," He said. Peter then put his hands into his pocket and pull out a magic stone and rub it.
The stone shines.
"What are you people doing? Why are some of your people causing trouble in our street!" A voice shout from the stone. It was angry.
"What we do is none of your business." Another came from the stone. It was raspy and sound annoyed. "Keep out of our business and we'll keep delivering the goods got it?"
"...Yes."
"Good. Anyways do not let anyone near west of Riverwood or else. Got it?"
"Yes. I'll do as you said."
"Excellent. We'll be sending someone to Riverwood. If someone said, 'When there is light there is darkness.' Do as they said...Someone is listening in."
"What wher—"
The magic stone dims and stops shining.
"...And that's why I'm here," Peter said putting the stone into his pockets. He then looks over the room. "I need your help. Someone that is involved with the assassins that were sent after you and are responsible with the missing people and are having the higher-up in the guardsmen to cover it up."

The other people in the room look at each other nervously.
"Have you asks the Flying Phoenixs or the Adventurer's Guild for help?" Cyan asks nervously.
Peter shook his head. "The Flying Phoenixs are not accepting any requests and I don't know if I can trust the Adventurer's Guild." He responds.
Everyone else looks at each other nervously again.
"I guess we'll help you," Lupin said. "We all agree why?" He asks looking at everyone else.
""Yeah.""
"Sure."
""Agree.""
Peter relax. He down his cup of coffee and set it down. "Thanks. I have to leave now so they won't get suspicious of me," He said. "What's your phone numbers?" Everyone pulls out their phones and gave Peter their numbers to which Peter return with his own phone numbers.
"I'll call you when I need to updates you guys or need you guys to do something for me," He said.
Peter stood up and walk toward the door. He opens the door of the inn and left, closing the door.
After Peter left, Drake sighs. "How annoying. Why did we had to get involved with this," He complains. Grumbling, Drake drinks his milkshake.
"It can't be helped. After all, it did have something to do with us and it's probably better to help Peter since he could give us information," Lupin said.
"Should we go back to doing normal things?" Basil asks munching on a piece of bread.
"Yeah, we should," Brick said. "Or else we will be put into an eternal slumber." He smiles and winks.
Everyone else in the room groans.
"Booooo," Cyan booed.
"Your puns fucking suck," Drake said.
"Oh, come on I'm just trying to lighten up the mood," Brick complains.
"Well, it was a horrible attempt!" Lester said.
"Fuck you!"
"Fuck you too!"
