《Tales of Idiots.》7. Water Crabs

Water Crabs.
A sliver rank monster that is a head taller than the average person and had one giant claw... Amongst the silver rank monster, it is one of the weakest. While its giant claw can snap a person's spine, they are slow due to their claw's weight and has a hard time turning around. They are also quite weak to blunt weapons, their exoskeleton can break if they get hit with a blunt weapon. In fact, they are so weak that they can be taken down by a party of iron rank.
They are also said to be quite tasty.
However, all of this is only when they are alone. Water crabs are either prefer to be alone or they are with a group called cast. When there is a cast of them, then they're a real sliver rank threat.
"Argh!" *Crack* "Got another one!" Basil yelled trying to lift a water crab whose brain was crush by Basil.
"So in total, we have six dead water crabs," Drake noted. The four had been going after water crabs that were alone.
"Chad Punch!"
"Seven now."
"I still can't get over the name," Lester said shaking his head. "So, we get 25 gold coins?" Lester said unsure counting with his fingers...
"35 actually."
"Does the guild really enough money to pay for bounties?" Lester ask.
"They should since they're funded by the government and they sell the monster part we sell to them like goblin ears to alchemists, so they should have enough money," Drake said.
Nodding Lester said, "So we just cut off their claws for proofs right?"
"We cut off the small claws since they're easier to carry since we're close to the river which means we're not that far," Lupin said.

"What a waste of good food." Basil lament.
*Few Minutes Later*
"All done," Lupin said. "Let's head back."
"Help!"
Lupin's ears perk up, the wolf beastman turns and faces the other three adventurers and said, "Did you hear that?"
""No.""
"No, and why?"
"'Cause, it sounds like someone calling for help."
"HELP!!"
"Ok, that's definitely a cry for help," Lupin said.
"Someone's running towards us," Drake said looking to their left.
"Oh fuck." Lester said looking towards the same directions as Drake.
Someone was running towards the adventurers with a cast of water crabs after them.
"Run," Lupin said.
Seconds later, the adventurers were running away from the water crabs along with the stranger. "Why did you have to run towards us!" Lester yell.
"There was no ways to run to!" The stranger yell.
A water crab came out of nowhere and slams into the ground missing the adventurers, it got up injured and began to chase the adventurers. "Fuck, we got flying crabs!" Lupin cursed.
"Why don't we just run into the forest!" Drake yells dodging flying crabs.
*Boom* Another crab flew towards them and missed again.
"The forest?" Basil ask.
"Since water crabs can turn around right and since they're all rushing towards they should be able to only go in one direction and since the forest is to our right, we should be able to escape the crabs if we run to the forests!" Drake explains.
"That sounds good!" Said the stranger.
"We'll run into the on a count to 3! Lupin yell. "1, 2, 3!"
The five basically jump into the forest. The swarms of crabs crawl past them. After catching his breath, Lupin asks, "Who the hell are you?" to the stranger.

The stranger straightens up and brushes himself free of dust and said, "My name is Cyan Dye, the soon-to-be platinum rank adventurer!" Cyan a young human, maybe the age of 21 with blue hair, and wear a red leather jacket, black pants with metal knee pads, and combat boots. He was wielding two pistols.
Lester look at Cyan skeptically and said, "And what rank are you?"
Cyan look down on the ground embarrassed and said, "Bronze rank but I will be a platinum rank in no time."
Basil pat Cyan's shoulder laughing and said, "Hahaha, I like this kid!"
Cyan perk up. "Really?"
"Yeah! What inn are you staying at?" Basil said.
Cyan scratch his head embarrassed, "I haven't found an inn to stay at since I just got here."
"I have a place to recom—" Before Basil could finish what he was said he was cut by a booming sound.
*Boom* *Boom* *Boom*
What was revealed in front of them two giant crabs, one with a giant claw and one was smaller than the other. But they have one thing in common. They both have a crown on their head.
The Royal Crabs are here.

By cold steel and elemental sorcery, they brought peace to a warring land on the brink of destruction. As the flames died, the realm needed strong leadership, and who better than the champions who had saved the kingdom? But when the people sought out their saviors... they vanished. Matt, Blake, Jen, and Carl: the four mysterious companions, who together had deposed an insane ruler and saved countless lives, were gone—spirited back in a whirlwind of magic to a sleepy suburb in Mellbridge, Oregon, never to return. The friends found themselves home in the real world, exactly as they'd been the night they were taken, as if no time had passed... except only three came back. Hi there! This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. Right as Rage
Only 15 years have passed since the miscreant god, Villi, stole magic from the gods and gave it to mortals. In response the mortals seem to be doing their best to squander this gift. The Kingdom of Abrune regulates it, the church of the Sacred Hierarchies outright condemns it, but one 'wildman' from across the sea begins his journey after being cursed by it. Vakdragnar's curse manifests when he loses his temper. It has driven everyone he’s ever cared about away from him. Out of options and money, he travels to the city of Tirough and quickly finds himself on the wrong side of the law. He is persecuted despite his intentions to do good. How can you stand against evil if everyone you’re trying to protect thinks you’re the villain? And if this curse is truly a part of him now, what if they’re right? **************************************************************************************************** Right as Rage is a story I’ve been excited to write for some time now. I hope everyone is as excited to read it. This story is going to be told over several arcs, with each arc containing 7-12 chapters, and an interlude or two each. I plan on submitting new chapters once a week on Tuesday evenings.

The Strangers
Brian Jeffries wakes up in a bed that is not his own, in a room dimly lit, surrounded by a large group of others just like him. This group of twenty-five finds themselves teleported to the land of Exandria, a world of swords and magic, of elves and orcs, of dungeons and dragons. A strange old man informs them that they are the newest members of the Adventurer's Guild, a group that takes contracts all around the world for gold and glory. For these normal humans the choice is simple: Serve or be executed. The captives are split into parties and sent out on their first jobs. Follow Brian and his newfound allies as they learn to become professional adventurers, complete contracts for the Guild, and maybe find a way home. To honor the source material's Dungeons and Dragons roots, I will be rolling dice throughout the development of this story. Everyone has a character sheet. From combat encounters to social interactions, everything that can be rolled will be rolled. See how a natural 1 can turn the tide of a battle, how a successful intimidation check can subvert a fight, or how deception can reveal critical info. No one is safe and anything can happen when you put your fate in your hands, take a chance, roll the dice. A Critical Role Fanfiction
