《How I Slayed A Dragon》Chapter 7

(May 13)
A bit of time has passed, not much has happened though.
I continued training with William and Briggs, and I honed my skills further.
That did remind me that I met this noble knight, She was an A rank like Briggs and she was beautiful (Not as beautiful as my wife of course).
Her name is Cornelia, she was one of the knights who once trained under Briggs and she taught us a lot of things, and not gonna lie, she and Briggs seem.... like a nice "fit" if ya know what I'm saying.
She's also interested in Briggs, she sneaks glances at him from time to time. She also blushes when Briggs touches her or compliments her.
It seemed like everyone around them knew she liked Briggs except Briggs.
That aside, she trained under Brigg's command for over 10 years! She's good with using the rapier and she's fast.
I can't beat her in a sparring match either, and I still can't beat Briggs either.
William is still making me meditate every couple days and making me control my dragon essence, it's going well.
In fact the other day I made a fireball!
And if I added dragon essence into the fireball it became bigger too!
It's about the size of an apple but when it blows up right in front of your face it packs quite the punch I do say so myself. I could toss it and do long range damage or I could punch someone and shove it into them close range for extra damage.
On May 6th, Briggs, William, Cornelia and I (and a couple solders who are kinda irrelevant to be honest) went outside the city walls to train and hunt wild monsters.
I practiced my fireball against some devil horn boars, which were E - D rank in one or two shots. When my Chakra ran out, I would then use my dragon essence so I could train both my human Chakra energy and my dragon essence.

All was going well until a roar was heard throughout the forest we were in, and an ogre appeared.
Although it was unexpected and some of us panicked, it wasn't too much of a problem with Briggs and Cornelia backing us up.
Briggs told us to try and defeat the ogre ourselves and they would watch and step in if they see we need help.
Now, ogres are C ranked monsters however normally it would take several C ranked knights to beat a single ogre, but I've gotten stronger and I've watched a knights take down ogres before.
They were very unpredictable and have no set pattern, so how do you fight it? You create a pattern or an opening by distracting it.
There were 4 other knights with me then, one of them were C ranked and the others were D ranked.
We surrounded the ogre but with quite a bit of distance in between us, and the ogre roared.
He grabbed a tree and ripped it straight out of the ground and charged at one of the D ranked solders, and the solder panicked.
Quickly, I signaled the attack and we stuck at the ogres back with all of our attacks, I used my fire balls and the others used their weapons.
The ogre turned around and swung his tree while turning hitting the other C ranker which sent him flying back. He was a bit hurt but he was fine.
The ogre was at least twice the height of a normal man and his body was massive. He wasn't slow but he wasn't good at quick turns so I charged at him and he swung the tree down at me.
I rolled out of the way and slid under him and stabbed a knife i had on me right into the ogre's "private area." Lets just say he's probably never gonna have kids again... that is if he survived.
Since he wasn't good at quick turns as he had too big of a body he wasn't able to reach me and couldn't attack me.

My attacked had distracted him enough for the other solders to approach the ogre unnoticed and chopped at it's knees causing it to drop on one leg.
The ogre was in pain, and it was mad. It threw the tree he had in it's hand as hard as he could towards the grouped up solders.
The other C ranked dude rushed out and kicked the tree mid air barely changing it's trajectory a bit and it grazed the faces of the solders. The solder's flinched but they knew that this was battle, and it you couldn't stop until it was over.
The ogre hand flew out and to grab me, I tried dodging out of the way but he got my arm. Using my other hand I created an instant fireball and exploded it right into the ogre's arm, since the blast was directly next to ogre, a chunk of it's arm flew out and burnt meat splattered.
Its bones were visible through the blown out hole in it's arm.
During this time, the other solders had run around to the ogre back and stabbed at it's legs in hopes of stopping it from moving.
The ogre obviously didn't just sit there and let it's leg get sawed off and it kicked the solders away.
While it turned towards the solders, it had forgotten about me for a second which allowed me to run up it's arm and chuck a couple fireballs at it's head. At that moment the other C ranked reached the ogre and leaped up and shoved his sword straight threw the head.
However the ogre didn't die even after that.
It suddenly roared again and swung it's arm at me which sent me flying back. The other C ranker, managed to dodge the ogre's attack and with the sword the was already lodged into the ogre's skull, he ripped it out and continuous stabbed into the ogre's skull.
He stabbed in in and out, in and out with all his might, and blood squirted out like a fountain until the ogre finally dropped dead.
The other C ranked solder, his name is Kevin by the way (forgot to mention), dropped onto his back and panted heavily as well.
Well that was fun, Briggs and Cornelia congratulated us and that night we had a small party.
We drank beer and we partied and sang.
Cornelia and Briggs got drunk together.... the ship is sailing boys!
We left the two alone and me and the other solders went outside for some fresh air.
Kevin was pretty cheerful, he and I talked quite a bit about our wives and our family. The other solders, Brian was there too, goofed around and just had fun. We split off at around mid night and headed home.
The next couple of days were normal training, killing monsters and defending the city, meditating and learning with William. Nothing special.
However yesterday I heard a rumor about the Flame Witch and that she was going to hold a festival. the Flame Witch was one of the only 8 SS ranked beings, and she was the most publicly known. She was also the only one who's location is not hidden, all the other 7 SS ranks have all gone missing and no one has seen for a long time.
All the cities in her territory is holding a festival, and this is my first time experiencing this so I don't know what to expect. This festival was suppose to be held once every 50 years by the Flame Witch and she might even publicly appear!
Wow, meeting one of the 8 strongest people in the whole world in person...
I can't wait for this festival!

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.
