Aariv let go of the goblin's corpse and flew up to a branch and wait. He had been hunting around the woods near the goblin settlement. He had been avoiding it ever he saw hobgoblins and ogre walking around. Apparently, hobgoblins are evolved versions of goblins, and ogres and goblins co-exist with each other. So, he was only hunting goblins that left the settlement.

Narrowing his eyes as he observes his surrounding. Over the past few days, he had noticed that there was an absurd amount of fanged rats around here. You could see them everywhere. They even outnumber the horned rabbit. "[Apprasial] said that fanged rat is known for being able to reproduce quickly like rabbits but to see this many fanged rat is just weird especially since there are the foxes around here which are much stronger than them..." Aariv muses.

He then had an idea why. He proceeds to use [Apprasial] a fanged rat.

Aariv now realized why there were much more fanged rats than normal. The fanged rats here were stronger than a normal fanged rat! A normal fanged rat leveled 5 when appraised has stats around 10 to 15, but one fanged rat level 5 around has stats greater than that than leveled 5 forest fox.

To double-check, Aariv began to appraised the other fanged rats and they all had stats higher than they should have. "This explains why you can't take one step before seeing dozens of them," Aariv said. "But why? Why are they stronger than they usually are? This is because they use stat points? [Apprasial] is unable to tell me the skills and stat points, only their name, stats and some facts about them." Aariv muses.

"Or is there a skill that boosts the fanged rats' stats?"

As he was questioning why the fanged rats were stronger than they're usually are, Aariv began to felt something that made his instinct go wild.

'[Danger Sense]?' Aariv thought as he active [Stealth] which was level 12 and wasn't MAX level like his other skill like [Novice Ice Magic Mastery]. He hid around the leaves of the tree and observe.

It was strong. It led its brethren into being the top of the food chain in its territory. It however had to admit that there monsters that stronger than it.

But it will grow stronger! It will soon kill those monsters and take the entire forest as its territory! Then it will be the ruler of the forest!

But something wrong is going on in its territory. More and more of its brethren had been killed. Someone had invaded its territory and is killing its brethren.

It will find the invader and kill them!

For it was a king.

Aariv found out that if he said title then it would show how many titles he has.

Closing the stats and titles, Aariv began to think. The fanged rat king wasn't as strong as him but its strength laid in its abilities to buff other fanged rats and have them follow its every command.

He also doesn't know what skills it has so it might have a secret skill that can kill him. Stats may be important but skills are even more important.

However...

Aariv has skills that he could use to kill the fanged rat king. The fanged rat king itself wasn't a problem to kill but the problem is the horde of fanged rat and if he got laid a trap that kills them all or at least kills most of them then killing the rat king was easy!

Besides, he wasn't gonna let the fanged rat live. Rats reproduce quickly and if they have a leader that leads them and buffs them and using their numbers they might overwhelm the forest, causing it to become a thorn to Aariv's side. And he'll get a whole lot of experience!

Aariv opens his stats again and dumps ten of his stats point in wisdom, six in endurance and seven in strength, and eight in agility.

He began planning for the trap.

Aariv, wait as he spots the horde of fanged rats led by the fanged rat king. The horde of fanged rats was running toward a forest fox whose legs were broken and one of its legs was torn off.

The horde of fanged rats lunges at the forest fox. As the horde of rats began tearing the fox apart. Aariv cut a vine which he was standing next to and the ground beneath the rats fell apart and they fell into a pit of spikes, killing many.

Aariv walks to the pit and looks down. The surviving fanged rats screech as they try to get out.

The fanged rat king saw Aariv and began screeching at him in angry catching the attention of the other fanged rat.

Aariv smile at it. "Sorry~," He said as he began launching wind bullets at the rats causing screeches of pain to fill the air. Though he had taken a break as he needs to recover his mana.

Setting the trap was easy as it was simple with the only problem was him have to rest to recover his mana. It doesn't matter if the fanged rat king had it a horde at its command. It was just a beast and its stats weren't high to complete with him. If the fanged rat king's horde was larger then he would have a problem as they could create a living bridge to get to him.
