Jada

Jada is a dwarf standing 3’ 10" and of stocky build. Her skin is well aged and wrinkled and dark, tattoos can be seen on the backs of her hands and creeping up her neck and arms. She is usually dressed in heavy fabric layers in earth tones, with a shawl wrapped around her shoulders.

Jada is the owner of Jada’s Junk, a run down and forgotten magic tool shop that Prime and the others use as their base of operations. Jada is retired and collects rent from Shea, who has an apartment over the shop. She allows Prime the use of the workshop in return for stocking and managing the store and collects 50% of the profits from sales.

While most people assume that Automata are high-end magic tools, thanks to the marketing efforts of the Trone Automata Factory, Jada knows the truth thanks to her area of expertise.

Jada was once a skilled artificer, specializing in the production of "Organic, Free Range" Automata; using only souls that were willing to be bound to an Automata shell from local graveyards and willing to work off the cost of their new bodies. Jada fought against the rise of Trone, working to educate anyone who would listen. When Trone gained favor and a lucrative production contract with the Kingdom, they discredited her and worked to have laws passed that obfuscate the true nature of Automata. The Trone Automata Factory crippled her business and barred her from being able to produce Automata again with the new laws.

The years of trying to fight against the Factory and its agents eventually wore her down and she gave up, settling into the run-down shop in the "Low Rent" district.
