《A Toaster Story》Chapter 5: Learn to Love

A mass of tentacles wrapped around the woman, their hold tight on her as they slowly lifted her off of her feet. She let out a yelp, struggling only slightly as the tentacles were uncomfortable around her. With a few twists in them she stopped struggling, not really powerless but resigned to her fate. Then she slowly began being lifted up and down, two other tentacles roaming around picking up small objects and throwing them around the small area.
With a huff, she was placed down on a chair, then untied from her tentacled embrace. The toaster was testing out it’s tentacles, gaining a skill called tentacle control for its hard work. Two of the humans were tossing small objects at the toaster for it to catch helping it grind up the skill before they went further.
They wanted to just continue through to the boss room, but the toaster kept whining about arms, and this was their compromise. The one that spoke about hentai convincing the toaster that tentacles were in fact more useful than a pair of arms. Though a few of them left the toaster confused, why would it want to have something called a harem? Also after being asked if the tentacles had any feeling, and confirming that they indeed do not have any sensitivity, the man looked at him with pity.
Bringing one of the girls to the side to explain things resulted in the man getting his face punched, the toaster would stay away from this so called harem if it the mere mention of it could get a person punched. The toaster spent the next hour practicing on simple things, before the skill evolved into Tentacle Precision, which it thought was enough for a boss.
New limbs aside, the others gained skill ups in throwing, and accuracy which they were satisfied with. The golem for some reason constantly breaking, and refilling its armor with its mana reserves, which had to be filled by the toaster from time to time. They knew it was time to finally face the boss though, since there was now a layer of smoke above them telling them that the fire was near.

The toaster cursed, “Damn my very first enemy, it still follows me now.” Apparently it disregarded the zombie it killed before that.
The humans went and faced the door, looking at each other before pressing at it, forcing the doors open a crack before it suddenly gave way revealing a basketball court. The humans were confused, “Why is there a basketball court here? This is supposed to be more dorm rooms.”
The brightly lit room was very spacious, the group coming down slowly as there didn’t seem to be any opposites down below. Wooden floors were polished to the point where each person was reflected on the ground. Bleachers ran on both sides with enough room for over a hundred fans should they show up which made them nervous that this boss might be a swarm of enemies.
This made the toaster happy though, it was ready for more enemies as it had its fireball skill. Even if it took some time to set up the gnomes seemed devastated by the effects of it. Plus for some reason the toaster really wanted to evolve that skill so it lost the question mark at the end.
Suddenly the lights in the court dimmed then a spotlight appeared, leaving the group pretty much blind. The spotlight circled the room as a voice yelled out.
“Welcome to the 5th game of the monsters everyone loves the most. The stars of our show tonight, let’s give a warm yell and praise to our friends the MonSta- erm, I have been informed that the team has changed their name due to legal reasons. So put your hands together for the Celestial Monsters!”
The spotlight focused on the doors leading into the room, and five very big monsters stormed out of the doors. Each one had different a color of skin, but all of them were muscular hulks, with big tusks coming out of their lips. The hentai addict whispered to one of the girls, probably trolls.
Doing a lap around the court, they finally got to a microphone that was hanging from the ceiling, the blue hulking troll grabbing it. “We, the Celestial Monsters, welcome our rivals tonight! We know that we will crush our opposition, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be civil. Can I hear a round of applause for the other team as well?”

Something went flying at the blue hulk, and the hulk instinctively grabbed the ball shaped object. As soon as it connected with his hand though, it exploded into a rain of fire, disintegrating the arm in a flash.
The toaster annoyed by all the running around yelled at trolls, “Are you a bunch of idiots? We’re here for a fight not a show.” Given enough time to prepare, each tentacle was now grabbing ahold of a fireball. It was nice that it could delay the release of its fireball by just not throwing it.
The troll missing it’s arm now, gulped at the sight and then there was a flash as the basketball court became a living hell for the trolls. They mostly didn’t care about the people who came in here, with their tough hide, and regeneration only fire could bring them any trouble. Luckily the people fleeing into this boss room had all been warrior types with no magic to speak of. This meant they could mess around the whole time and whittle away at the people.
Running for their lives the group swarmed at the trolls, with the toaster backing them up it was a one sided slaughter. The humans, and golem grabbing the trolls and slowing them down enough that the inaccurate floating toaster could hit the running trolls. Sadly the trolls had nowhere to run to, the boss rooms were sealed when an intruder came in.
Though when the humans looked back to the toaster they did not feel like the good guys in this situation. It was floating there, laughing while fireballs twirled around it, held by tentacles at it pinned them every which way.
When everything was said and done, they looked around not able to see any resemblance of the basketball court it was before. Instead the place was a charred, blackened war zone. The five bosses lay on the ground still burning as the two women looked at eachother.
“Let’s not remind the toaster he’s a monster too okay?” They both nodded in agreement.
The toaster took some convincing to calm down, and when they finally convinced it to stop the dungeon deemed it safe enough to reward them for their efforts. A chest landing on the ground in the center of the room.
This dungeon designed the items to help out each individual, it truly wanted to get rid of this toaster from the dungeon. It would take a lot of effort to repair the damage the little guy had done to it, and it was afraid that if it stayed here longer the toaster would bring down the whole dungeon. Years later people would wonder why the dungeon had installed a sprinkler system, but that was a story for another day.
The group, ecstatic to see the chest, rushed over and opened it. The toaster being firmly held onto by the top heavy woman which it didn’t mind as it was soft where it was. They found some weapons, a dagger, a sword, but the oddest thing was a strange black piece of metal.
Item Found: Mithril - Monster Upgrade Material
This magical material can be used to upgrade a monster that is mostly composed of metal, upgrading all metal pieces to the magical metal Mithril. This upgrade will allow magic to flow more freely through the monster.
They knew who this treasure was for as they updated their weapons to the new ones. As the toaster touched the black metal it suddenly turned a teal color, it’s body becoming the legendary metal Mithril.
‘This is an improvement’ The toaster thought, as it twirled it’s tentacles excitedly in the air, lifting up the top heavy woman in the air.
Skill Gained: Inappropriate Touching
You can lower the defenses of an enemy with your tentacles by only accident considering your knowledge on the matter.
‘Huh?’ The toaster was confused by this new skill.

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5

Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry.
