《Sun Collector》Chapter #23 New Dishes

The next day when I got up I checked the number on my arm it was 360. Not bad, not bad at all I planned to make grand elder a legendary ring before making the looter squads.
After all, he said that half of the resources that come in too the outpost come from him. If I could just upgrade his ability it would be of massive benefit.
I got up completed my routine and skipped out of the door. Today was gonna be a day off from sitting in front of those mirrors.
I wondered what was on the second floor of the ability library.
Nobody in the outpost stopped me because of the pin elder had given too me.
I passed the clerk and the numerous rings hanging on the wall.
Although now I could tell that they were all common and weren't necessarily good abilities.
Up the stairs and I came to a warehouse-type room with aisles.
There were numerous items on the wall.
All of them had prices underneath them.
I get it this was an item shop I knew that mana items existed but they were really rare.
They looked like they were less rare in this outpost because all of the outposts traded with each other.
The attended saw my pin
"Hello, esteemed guest are you here to purchase something?"
I replied "I'm just looking around but if something catches my eye I'm sure I could have grand elder purchase if for me."
He seemed to be satisfied with my response well then "Ill show you around."
There were items for many different uses all of them were combat or appraisal items. This was an outpost were ability decided everything.
I didn't need combat items or appraisal items because anyone who wouldn't let me know their abilities was not someone I wanted to help.

"Do you have any mirrors by chance?" I asked
"No, we don't have any mirrors. There is no sand at this outpost so how could mirrors possibly be made?"
It was worth asking I thought to myself.
"Thanks for showing me around if I need anything ill be back."
"Yes, sir ill always be here."
Apparently, his only job was to be an attendant. This was the fate of someone who didn't start on a path when they were young.
That was fun! I felt like eating in the cafeteria today I headed there and picked up my food.
I changed my mind I wanted to eat at the winery in the company of beauty.
When I got there morgan was on the job. Her ability ring had made her the most popular server.
As soon as she saw me she transferred her waitress jobs over too her friend and came and sat by me.
"Hello, benefactor I wonder what brought you here?"
She asked in a silky voice.
"I just didn't feel like eating in the cafeteria."
I answered honestly but she game me a quizzical look but I remained stone-faced.
"My boss said that if you came in I should try and get you in our debt again. Last time he and grand elder made a batch of upgraded 100 year dragon wine. They'ree trying to make a deal to sell it off to the materials outpost."
Her voice was calming probably because she was the only person I considered to be my friend in the outpost.
She had bet on me and carried me home when I was passed out drunk.
We would always be cool.
"So has your butterfly dance changed any?"
She smirked and whispered in my ear "Of course it changed my position in the restaurant changed so naturally, it looks like more of a noble dance."

"I wanna see it," I said resolutely
"Alright ill go get you some normal wine for your meal."
As she got up she seemed to drift through the air in a complex series of movements it seemed like her dance had gotten even more elegant. And it was even more alluring seeing it from the back.
I opened up my food box when I unfurled the note there in black ink.
The name of the dish Lucky thousand-year fire oxen.
This time it had a passive bonus that came along with it.
As I was reading morgan came back with the wine and I got drunk again.
But this time I was able to make it back to my room by myself.
So it must have been normal wine. The bonus I got from the oxen was increased blood flow for an hour.
That's probably why I didn't pass out and was able to make it home.
The next day I checked my arm and I was up too 400 maybe the nutrition value of the food made a difference in the amount of sunlight my body could absorb.
I didn't really understand it but I knew I should make grand elder an ability ring as soon as possible because our futures were now linked.
I stayed inside in direct sunlight the whole day the only time I left the house was to grab my food.
This time it was a salad.

Keepers of the Neeft
The Indigo Empire has conquered half the world’s nations, their people, and their gods. According to its citizens, old and new, the rest of the world will follow. In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.

Tales of the Willful Autonomous Nanobot Generator
Due to over-engineering and poor parenting; a nanobot generator is sent into the wider universe, ready to solve any and all problems...though probably not the way that was intended, or even hoped for. This story is a first time attempt to use a literary device I came up with, where I use 4 randomly selected songs to write short stories. As such there really won't be any cohesive story thread between chapters. If this gets traction, the likelihood for reader polls to influence the next story are high.
