Elder this is for you I said as I handed him the common tier ring.
"Can you show me how your legendary ring works?"
He smiled and said "You still don't understand the value of even a common tier ring.
"People in the outpost would want this ring, in fact, escape rings are the most coveted treasures here even if it is a common ring."
This old guy I guess I could always resort to my trump card.
"If you show me how it works ill make you a legendary ring."
Bribery, apparently legendary rings were the trump card of all trump cards.
"You got yourself a deal young man, now don't do back on it. I actually bring in about half of all resources in this fortress by myself."
He brought out a constantly black and white flashing ring from his chest.
He slowly inserted the common ring into the middle of his ring and it was ground into dust and absorbed by the constantly flashing ring.
So the more conditions and the more powerful beast or artifact that was used. The stronger the ability ring would come out.
With my curiosity satisfied I followed grand elder up to the main floor.
"Let's go to the winery to repay your debt," Elder said
I followed him all the way there all on my own.
The chains never activated once, probably because cannon man didn't even believe I was capable of running away.
The number on my arm had gone down too 26 but I wasn't mad.
I developed a whole new understanding of ability rings and I got to taste dragon wine for free.
When we got there we went to the back were the patio that overlooked the vineyard was.
There was an old man sitting next to the balcony sipping wine.

He was the only one outside so it was obvious he was the owner.
Before we walked up grand elder asked in a hush tone "you made him a mythic ring right"
"No, I made him a legendary one" Elder almost tripped and fell over and said
"From now on your outlawed from making anything above mythic grade. Your gift is too large and has implications you don't even begin to understand."
Alright alright yeash I was just trying to get more benefits.
We sat down and they discussed things I didn't care to listen too.
This time the wine was normal but that wasn't going to stop me from getting drunk again.
As soon as I arrived at the table the waitress switched out again and low and behold morgan was pouring me wine again.
I tried to get properly drunk but apparently, morgan was instructed to keep me at the level where I could still understand the conversation.
At some point, I'm pretty sure she was just serving me grape juice.
I began to get mad but just as I was about to say something, elder spoke.
"I believe you have something to say to my friend."
"I'm sorry for acting in an irresponsible way and drinking your wine without constraint. With the support of grand Elder, I was able to come up with a way to pay you back."
I handed him the ring I didn't examine it before but on it was a dragon swimming around in a wine glass.
As soon as the owner saw it his hands started shaking.
"Young man, you made a legendary ring for making wine?"
"Haha I made a legendary ring for sunscreen too."
He almost spit out his wine but managed to keep his composure.

He started to examine it before his jaw dropped again.
"Do you truly understand how great of an accomplishment this is?"
He asked with a flabbergasted look on his face.
"Not really, I just made your wine taste twice as good."
Grand Elder seemed to find all of this funny as he just sat there with a mildly amused look on his face.
"The benefit of hundred dragon wine is that it doubles the effect of all lower year wine consumed after it. That's it's only affect, its an amplifier for the rest of the wine. If you double it that means all other wines have quadruple the effect."
Apparently, even grand elder didn't expect this outcome as he just stared at me.
"Hey, morgan I also made you a present."
She looked tentatively at her boss and he quickly gestured her over.
I pulled out the butterfly ring and handed it to her.
It was sort of a party trick ring so it didn't need mana to work plus I had to put a requirement on it too because it was only of the rare grade.
Her face instantly flushed with excitement as she equipped it apparently it suited her just fine.
"If my eyesight didn't fail me that seems to be a rare ring. It seems like a great fortune has been encountered by your winery today" Elder said
"Indeed it seems so, does that ring allow alcohol that's poured by her to be more effective?"
They both looked at me with eager eyes.

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

Empress' Evolution
The bright red light of the flames swallowed her vision but soon that red light transformed into a blue hue and she was dragged into that light. ‘What’s happening?’ It was too bright and she was forced to close her eyes, she was blinded — even though she was already dead. After being pulled into the light she began to feel annoyed as her skin was irritated by some kind of rough sand. By the time she opened her eyes. She could see the full view of the sky. It was blue and there were clouds scattered about. ‘Ugh, is this Hell?’ She stated as she rubbed her head with her fluffy and furry ‘hand’. ‘Furry?’ She looked at her ‘hands’ and her mouth opened wide. Her hands had become soft and fluffy paws of a white-furred beast with purple spots. ‘What the hell?’ She touched her face with her paws and confirmed that it too did not belong to a human. Below, she felt something was moving, she can tell as if it was another limb connected to her. ‘Don’t tell me!’ Turning her head around, she found a seven-inch tail sticking out behind. ‘Phew!’ She felt relieved that it wasn’t what she thought it was. “These soft and paws, this cuddly fluffy hair, this cute tail — ah shit, did I become a beast after my death or have I been dreaming of being human as a beast all this time? If it is the latter that is one long and realistic dream.” === [It’s the former, stupid *] === Said a woman’s voice from in her head. === As always thank you for reading, also the image in the cover is not mine, I found it on Pinterest and thought it was cool and suitable. All credits got to the illustrator. Also, this is a new type of story that I have not read about yet. Basically I am writing an evolution novel without prior knowledge so I don't really know what is considered cliche in this genre.
