《Sun Collector》Chapter #3 The Sun is Bright

I figured five is a good number to charge up to and see if I get any new skills. But when the number hit 5 nothing happened.
Apparently, my only ability was the power to get mana from the sun. But that wasn't entirely correct because it was lunchtime and I wasn't hungry.
I decided to test it by going to work without eating any food. Then I could see if I could really live off my own mana. Id never heard of anyone being able to consume mana before.
Anyways I went to work.
"Your late today," Said my boss.
"Sorry sir it won't happen again," I said.
Like I was retarded enough to say my family had been killed on a small island.
I walked to my normal station and started putting my fishing cages into the water. Everything passed surprisingly normally.
But the thing was even though the number on my arm ticked to zero, I never got hungry. Like I would kind of get hungry in the shade but as soon as the sunlight hit me I would be refreshed.
"Hey, boss can I have the day off I'm not feeling so well," I asked him as he came near my station.
"It's fine as long as your back tomorrow" he replied.
I nodded my head and walked back to the sandbar. Why would I work if alls I had to do to eat was sit in the sun? I thought to myself.
I headed to the library to record my newest findings into my journal. There was a stat appraisal thing at the library if I remember correctly.
It didn't take me long to get there.
After saying my greetings to the clerk and paying a small interest fee I walked immediately to the status apprisal stone.

It didn't shake or shine or do anything cool. It just revealed the user's status window too them. It was one of the island's greatest accomplishments.
Everything about my window looked normal the base stats were all the same. It was impossible to go over 10 without the use of ability so I had ten on everything.
The only interesting thing was a new mana stat at the bottom it read 0/infinity.
"Wow" I marveled to myself out loud. Id never heard of anyone having an infinity symbol in their status window before.
Below that read some abilities, three in total.
Sun Collector~Gather mana passively from the sun
Sun Sustence~Eat the mana that is gathered from the sun if not already full.
Sunspot~Release all stored up mana into the outside world
Normally people only got one ability with there to wish but I had gotten three. I couldn't tell if I was lucky or if this was just payment for a dumb set of abilities.
I knew the library had a balcony at the top of it. The best place to set off a sunspot I thought to myself with a snicker.
"The balcony is free to use to anyone right?" I asked the librarian while climbing up the stairs.
"Yes the balcony is open for public use,." he said
"cool"
I'm gonna go set off a sunspot with my mana. As soon as I got to the top I stared at my arm intently waiting for a one to appear. But a one never appeared I waited for at least an hour.
Until it dawned upon me my ability consumed more mana then was produced by sitting in the sun. The only way to cancel it is to eat food.
I went and bought a bagel and sat on the roof eating. After a short while, a one appeared on my arm.

With a thought, I activated sunspot. A loud bang went off in my hand and a flash of light blinded me. It was about as powerful as a firecracker that they would use at the parade.
The only thing was the light, for a brief second it felt like I was holding a mini sun in my hand and it looked like it too.
Luckily for me, I was the only one on the balcony. I had stared directly at the sun for a brief second. This is the dumbest ability set ever I thought to myself while crying my eyes out because of the searing pain.
At least I had grasped the full extent of my abilities I thought to myself. Or had I? Couldn't I infuse the mana I created into stuff after all mana was living.
