《You're Mecha-ing Me Crazy!》Chapter 5: Do you even Otomech?

Two months have passed since the initial launch of [Otomech Full Drive]. It was at this time the hardcore players were starting to pull away from the rest of the pack. The top rankings were dominated by players from all around the globe.
Breaking News
“This just in!” A woman flashed onto the screen that hung from a wall, “the 6-man raid consisting of members from the top guilds were able to successfully clear the boss on the [First Moon] after three days. The materials on the [First Moon] are now accessible to the general public to start gathering.”
Murmurs and speculation on the event unfolded.
“Wow...”
“I can’t believe they already cleared it.”
“That was level 60 content...”
“60?! Isn’t that level cap?”
“Yep...”
Talk about the first clear spread throughout town like wildfire. Their reputation spread to everyone playing the game. As time went on, those six would later end up being known as the Six Gears of Full Drive.
* * *
Two weeks have passed since then.
I watched as the screen kept rerunning their story over and over again. Let me reiterate this fact again, it’s been about two months since the launch of [Otomech Full Drive] and everyone’s been racking up achievements in game...but...but...
“Hey, where’s my order?!”
“Coming!” I scurried on over to table four and brought over a tray of food. “Here’s your order, an Otomech burger with some fries. Thank you for your order!” I smiled as I headed back to the counter and continued to clean the area.
Hi it’s me Rama. It’s been a good month since I’ve been working at this restaurant in [Beginner’s Town] called the [Fuel Pump]. It’s one of the busiest places in town with rush hour being every hour. There was a reason for me working here...

Let’s rewind to the when I first arrived here in town.
After giving Guard Darion, Camille’s phone number, I was distraught, but not defeated. I used that feeling of despair and channeled it to energy and began starting the quests that were required of me to eventually get my Otomech. After being affected by Camille’s teasi-...teachings, every quest that I did, I carefully read every word and gave the NPCs my full undivided attention.
Not to toot my own horn, but I was good.
Too good in fact.
I completed every question to absolute perfection and more. It got to the point that the NPCs in town would just start giving me random errands to do under the guise of being “[Required]”. All these quests did help level me up to [Lvl. 20], but all the skill points I’ve acquired are utterly useless right now since I don’t have a mech. As time went on, I got lost in the abundance of quests and somehow ended up here.
Sigh...
“Rama!”
I turned around to see one of my coworkers standing right behind me. She was also an NPC of the game. She had short brown hair with jet black eyes. She was tinier than me, but had a big personality to compensate for it.
“What is it Sheena?”
She placed the dishes on the counter for me to wash.
“Did you hear?”
I grabbed the dishes and began washing them.
“Hear what?”
She had a big grin on her face and slowly inched towards me and whispered softly in my ear.
“One of the six gears is going to be here in town.”
I stopped what I was doing.
“You don’t say...” I thought about that for a second. “Why would one of them stop by here?”

Sheena started putting away all the cleaned dishes.
“That’s the thing, no one knows why. There are rumors circulating that there might be an event in the [Beginner’s Town] or something along those lines.”
“Ohh...”
Can’t say I wasn’t intrigued by this information. I get to finally see up close what one of the six is like in person. Maybe I can learn a thing or two from them.
“You know Rama, things have really gotten better since you took over as the manager.”
A big grin flung across my face as I gave her the thumbs up.
“Right?! I always give it my all”
Sheena giggled.
“By the way Rama, when are you getting your Otomech?”
I dropped the dish I was cleaning as a gloomy atmosphere hovered over my head.
Sheena leaned in towards me.
“I’m just teasing Rama.”
She held a nervous smile and she comforted me.
;(
“You’re right though...when am I going to get my Otomech?”
She tilted her head and thought about it.
“I know! Why don’t you ask the former manager/boss when she comes back?”
I had a sudden realization.
“That’s right! The boss.” I clenched my fist. “That wench...”
Sheena had a slight confusion on her face.
I had forgotten that it was because of that wench, that I was stuck here!
