《Yowai - Season 1》Chapter 3 - Last Day
Advertisement
The first class started, Yowai was just drawing on his notebook, still feeling uncomfortable around the students with the weird vibe. He kept on running in his mind everything that happened to him since yesterday. He was very confused. `I can't stop thinking about this...` He mulled. `First, I feel weird after eating at the cafeteria, next, the picture from ten years ago is somehow on the stairs of my house, then, I have this awful nightmare with my room going crazy, and last, I can't walk around some students at my school without feeling pressed on and have my mind run thoughts by its own.` `My vacation creates the impression to get potentially worse and worse by the moment.` "Can I go to the bathroom, sir?" A guy from Yowai's class asked, after pointing his finger up for a minute. "No, you may not. The class is almost over, hold it in until then." The disciple hesitated, "Okay then," be responded in a calm, yet despondent voice. Approximately five minutes later, the class ended. Yowai took a bit of time to stand up from his chair. All he did now was thinking about his last two days and try to get a clue about what it could be. "Hey, you look a bit pale, are you alright?" the same guy that asked to go to the bathroom asked Yowai after approaching him, instead of doing his toileting activities. Yowai returned to himself and replied "Oh, I am. No need to check for me." "Alright then, I guess," the guy said. Yowai took his stuff and left the classroom, then went to English class. On his way to the class, he had his headphones on, and he watched some funny videos. While doing that, a girl of which he never saw in school reached his path from behind, she slightly patted on his shoulder to get his attention. Yowai turned around casually, stopping the video in the proccess. "What do you want? I need to get to class." He didn't have even the slightest interest in talking with her. "I'm from the student council," she told him. Yowai didn't even flinch hearing that. All he wanted was to get to class, and continue his day normally. "I would like to ask you a question if you don't mind," she then said, totally ignoring Yowai not giving a shit about what her. "Well, I do mind, but if you'll do it quickly, I guess it's okay." "That's great! Now let's get to it. As you may or may not know, if our council president gets enough positive opinions about him by the end of the year, he'll keep on being the president for another year. So, I would like to hear your honest opinion about the current president." Yowai looked at her for a few seconds, then finally told her "I don't even know who the president is, nor do I care. If you really need an answer, I guess he is a good president if I didn't hear about the council screwing up this whole year." "Oh, that's unfortunate. I will still take that guess as a positive opinion." She responded. "Thank you for your time!" The girl proceeded to say. "Hm, what was your name again?" she finally asked "It's Yowai," he answered, already pissed off by all the time she took from him. "Oh, my name is Hayai, nice to meet you," she added. "Thank you again for your time Yowai. See you around, and good luck next year!" She then left him by himself, but only after she gave him a muffin like she did to everyone else that provided an opinion. After he took the muffin, he thought to himself `What a nice reward to get after helping another student!` then threw it to the closest trash can and kept going to class. Just before entering the classroom, another thought popped in his mind saying "Wait, isn't that dude from Geography class that asked me to go eat together with him yesterday the president? He and that irritating girl are quite alike, to be honest." A few minutes later, the teacher explained to the class that next year they will focus on Literary Analysis and Essay Writing to get their writing skills in shape. Of course, Yowai wasn't glad to hear about anything related to next year, or even school in general. He was having a sourpuss and mumbled to himself about how shitty it is, then as the study went on to the last English class of the year, Yowai took a nap until the class was over. When he wakes up from the high volume of the bell, he notices that it is actually the ring to enter the class, not go to the break, which means he's late, seemingly too late to even enter the classroom, as it's at the other building in a quite a long distance so he doesn't even bother to run there. As he gets to the room, approximately after 15 minutes of walking like he normally does, he attempts to join in, but the teacher instantly kicks him out saying "Stay out there until the class ends. You better be here when I come out again." And closes the door afterward. Yowai thinks to himself "Ugh, who cares. It isn't like I wanted to be there anyway." Then goes to sit on a bench close to the place. He continues to watch the video that he started before English class. Leaving all his trouble for some long minutes. As the class is called out to an end by the bell, his teacher came out and said: "It's a shame you couldn't join us in the last lesson of the year. Why were you so late?" Yowai replies saying: "Well, I fell asleep accidentally and only woke up when the bell rang to end the break, I tried rushing here, but with no success. Obviously he bluffs. At least the part about him rushing. Fortunately, the teacher believes him and decides not to give him a punishment, even though he slept. "I see, you can go eat lunch now, have fun in the summer." She then says and leaves the place. "Why the fuck does everyone mention the vacation or next year? It isn't something that special." He thinks to himself, looking a bit mad. "At least I can eat now, been waiting for that last meal at school the whole day." Yowai then thinks. He's heading to the cafeteria. Lucky for him, it's in the middle of the main building and the building he's in currently. "Where do you think you're going?" A group of students reaches Yowai while he's on his way to his faraway spot at the cafeteria, a short time after he took the special last-day-meal from the cafeteria worker. "I'm just going to take a sit and eat, please move." Yowai tells him then thinks: "Oh great, just what I needed on this shitty day. Getting oppressed by some unintellectual people. I am pissed off enough already." He tries going from the side but he's stopped by the group. "Well, you ain't going anywhere as long as we're here." The seeming leader of the group said to him, then they all started to insult him, dropping his food on the floor as well. They say stuff like "You're a piece of shit with no friends! LOL."; "Why are you even alive still? Seriously, kill yourself!" And much more of this type. Then, someone said something that made Yowai just freeze on the spot and look at the floor with his face down. "I bet your parents are ashamed of you, having such a miserable kid must be damn irritating." That thing was. Everyone laughed, unreasonably. Yowai still has his face directed to the floor. The bullies think he's just too shameful to look up, but that's not the case. "Oi, why don't you answer? Can you not talk from the humiliation? Well, all we said was true. Someone just needed to tell you that directly." The leader says, he's getting a bit closer to Yowai's body and tells him: "Or is it because of your parents? Don't think I don't know about them." After that, Yowai slowly pulls up his head and looks at the leader, although his face is somewhat different. He has a cold look, one that could even make an elephant run away in fear. His body looks like it has some kind of an evil aura around it. I mean, it's not like you can see it, but you feel it... The vibe of it is just all over the room. While the group is frozen in absolute fear, except their leader who is confused about why is everyone like that. Then, after a few short seconds of silence, Yowai's dropped tray with food starts levitating, along with the bullies' phones and such, the same way the things in his room did that night. But now, it seems like it's controlled intentionally by Yowai. Half of the group run away in fear, screaming "WHAT IS THIS MONSTER?!" The other half are all still frozen, again, except the leader who says "Is this some kind of magic? Ah? Do you think it's funny or something??" Yowai ignores his question, then tells everyone in a strange, deeper voice: "You all better get the fuck off before things will get bad for you, believe me." The other half that stayed frozen slowly start to escape, probably for their lives. Anyone could tell how serious Yowai was at that moment. "Wait, everyone! Where are you cowards going? He's just some nerdy kid!" The leader yells at his group, he's not affected at all by Yowai's presence and threat. Yowai tells him: "It's your last chance, flee." While looking ever more scary than before. "Ah, fine. You won this one, but don't worry, we will get you again, sooner or later. And it's gonna be soon, trust me." Then he leaves, clenching his hands in the process. Yowai comes back to normal. His face is still cold though. He picks up his food, thinking: "It was dangerous right now... But I also felt strong in a different way. A good way if I'm honest." After putting all the food back to the tray, he looked up at everyone in the cafeteria, he sees that they're all shocked and look at him like at a beast in the wild. "Oh, sorry for this you all, go back to do your things, don't mind me." And they all do, totally ignoring what just happened. Yowai then thinks to himself: "It's too much, I've got to check it out... All these things that happen to me lately, they're too weird." The bell rings, Yowai is annoyed by the fact that his food was on the floor and that he didn't even have time to eat. "FUCK! I'm hungry as heck right now, but there's that last Geography class and I want to hear more about the 'Hirta' island." He then remembers that the class is in another building. That means he's probably going to meet the bullies again. He knows the leader, he won't just give up after Yowai made him look bad in front of the whole cafeteria. Yowai tries to rush to the class, avoiding anything in his way... He understands that he has some strange powers he can't just use on everyone, they're too dangerous. "Well well, who do we have here, just a few minutes later? I didn't think me saying we will get you soon will actually work this quick?" The bullies caught him, just before he's got into class. The students in the group other than the leader are still a bit afraid of him, but it seems like the leader calmed them down saying Yowai just did some magic tricks on them and they all fell to it. "Listen, guys, I really need to get in... I already missed one class today and I'll get screwed if I do again." He tells them, being damn irritated by everything they did. "Well then, you should've thought about it before you got beef with us. Let's go to a quiet place." The leader then replies, slightly smiling afterward. While getting led outside the building, just behind the office, Yowai cynically thinks "Awesome! This day is the best! I'm missing another class, just when the year is about to end. Great." A few seconds later, the group leader says "Okay guys, it's here." And they all stop. He then tells Yowai "I hope you're ready for this faggot. It's going to be painful." "If you say so. Let's just do it quickly." Yowai replies to him. "Dude, why the heck am I being confident right now? A group of about 9 students wants to kick my ass... How can I be so calm?" He then thinks. "I guess we will, but I want to have you myself first." The leader tells Yowai. Then turns around and says "Stay out of this guys. I'll take care of it. Join me when I tell you." They all nod to him and he walks up to Yowai, although surprisingly, Yowai isn't scared at all from the bully's big muscles, enormous body structure and huge hands the guy has. All he can think of is him going back to class as soon as possible. Hoping that the teacher will even let him in from his long tardiness. "Well, that's not what I should think about in this situation... Let's focus."

Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.

8 142I Have to Text my Ex, or the World Explodes
Do you have an anus? If you do, here's a great little nonsensical story for you to turn off your brain and read while you're stuck in the toilet with nothing to do. Here's the premise of my new story: Andrew Garage thought he was the Chosen One.Stuck in a time loop that reset whenever a meteor crashed to Earth, he was determined to save mankind and get himself out of the loop. On his seventh try, he finally eliminated the catastrophic meteorite with an Antimatter Gun.However, a self-proclaimed Goddess suddenly appeared and sent Andrew back into the loop again because he saved the world 'the wrong way'. As Andrew bitterly scavenged for solutions, he found out that the reason the meteor kept crashing into Earth because. . . he kept ignoring his exes' texts. Great for people with anuses and people who want to destroy meteorites. Not recommended for people who expect actual logic like NOT winning the lottery five times in a row.
