《The Lost Characters [Vanilla Dark Fantasy]》003-I should have said black!

—Very good, excellent presentation, Adam— Achilles said with a smile—Do you know why you came to school?
—To get my black robe! And to be able to be a professional harvester! — Adam answered excitedly.
—That's the attitude of a true student! —said the teacher with a kind smile— To achieve that you only have to learn one language of your choice, luckily for you: I know three languages, so you're going to have many options, but as a gatherer with learning any of the 3 you should be fine.
Achilles got up from his seat and pulled out a wooden box. Inside the box were 4 books inside with covers of different colors: green, yellow, red, and black. Achilles took 3 of the books and closed the box.
He then put the three books on the table and began to explain what each one is about:
—This Green Book is good for learning the language they use on the upper floors; so it is quite useful if you plan to move upstairs. The red book is useful for traveling to the lower floors, but I wouldn't recommend studying this language. Do you know which one is yellow?
—Yes! —Adam replied with the happiness of a child who knows the correct answer — That is the language we use in the flats where my parents live and where the school is.
—That's right, Adam! —Congratulations the teacher — That's why this is the most useful language for you, likely, your parents have already taught you a little and that will make you get your black robe faster. Which of all do you choose?
—Yellow!— Adam yelled, somewhat impatient, to get his black robe.
The professor nodded and put the other unselected books back in the box. Then, the teacher took the book that was left on the table and handed it to Adam, while he said:

—Your first task will be to ask your parents what the first page says. Then try to understand the others using what you learned from your parents with the first sheet. But don't ask him what the next ones say! Understood?
—Of course, professor!—Adam replied, somewhat excited.
—Well—the teacher said happily, seeing such a cooperative boy— Otherwise, you can leave earlier today, but use the time you're saving by going earlier to do your homework. Good luck on the road, Adam. And the next time you come, try not to waste time flipping through books you can't read on the way. You can see the dust on your shoes.
Adam looked sheepishly at his shoes, tried to hide them with his robe, but his robe wasn't long enough to do it. With a blush on his face, Adam waved goodbye as he left the classroom, leaving the teacher alone.
—A curious young man...—The professor murmured, while Adam closed the door of the room.

Summon Imp!
Travel with a newly born demon as he grows and learns in his own world as well as in other worlds as he gets summoned again and again. Usually to die or kill for others in strange and exciting places, but it's never certain what the next one will bring. It has its perks. With each new world comes a new story with new experiences and new lessons. There is always more to see, more to learn and more to know. Maybe, someday, it will all make sense. For now he will just work hard to become stronger, to be useful and, hopefully, survive that way. A coming-of-age story, but different. Things start to slow down to a crawl. Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...

Heart of the Dungeon
A lazy, wingless, blabbermouth of an imp, smearing goat’s blood all over the crystal – that is the unpleasant view this new Heart wakes up to. “I’m your Prime!” the imp says. The Heart reluctantly agrees. In an unknown world, filled with dangers, it needs every help it can get – even if said help is not…optimal. The Heart tries its best to succeed, even after being tricked by shrewd traders and having less than useful minions. Rival races settle in the Dungeon, causing even more headaches. The heroes, as they call themselves, sets their aim on the ‘new and defenseless’ Dungeon. The heroes are always lurking in the shadows – well actually, they are standing in the open, under the sun, hiding nothing – but either way, their evil intentions, no matter how they claim to justify them, only cause needless death. “Am I really that precious? Must you hunt me so fiercely? Why are you doing this to me?” The Heart does not understand their motives. Perhaps its lack of understanding has something to do with the fact the Heart has no physical limits nor material needs. Why take it from someone, when you can simply will it forth? Just pay for it with mana rent! To make things worse, the real dangers are not from above, nor from below, but from within…
