《Archangel》INTERLUDE - III - A conjuring of wings and horns (Two)

Raziel touched the hilt of his sword, and a loud scream echoed through the gigantic hall.
All demons and angels came to a halt after hearing the sound, and stood there, hands ready to get their weapons or release their focused power, but not moving a single inch beyond that.
Raziel’s sword, Adversary’s Bane, had an essence on its own. Only allowing Raziel specifically to carry her around, and everyone that stood against him was dreadfully shredded by its blade. It was beautifully proved when he left the unaccountable battles of the great civil war without a single scratch.
Everyone who heard the shriek of his sword, knew it only meant death and destruction.
But Michael chose to dare, and unsheathed his own sword, that posed equal threat to the enemy.
“I don’t think you’re leaving here alive... Brother.” Michael snorted.
“You really are willing to make me break my vow, just because of a petty, selfish, meaningless war?”
“Talk. Through. Your. Sword.” Michael said, as Metatron gave him the signal to advance.
“No one interferes!” The scribe shouted. “Brothers should solve their differences among themselves.
And so everyone in the hall kept static, silent, just watching as Michael released his threatening aura. The blackish purple smoke oozing from him and his sword as he moved forward, reaching Raziel in a flash.
All demons thought that this movement would be the finishing blow to cut Raziel’s head off, because they knew how fierce and merciless Michael could be, when truly immersed in combat. However, None of them there, besides Asmodeus and a few other demon kings, such as Baal, Beleth, and Zagan knew how fearless and skilled Raziel himself was in battle.
Because of that, all demons held their breaths when they saw the Unforgiving Flame colliding head on against the Adversary’s Bane.

A strong heatwave hit all the entities in the hall, real hard, even causing a few weaker, low ranked demons to turn to ashes in an instant.
“You did not lose your touch, brother.” Raziel complimented his equal with a blank face.
“And you are as arrogant as ever.” Michael retorted, striking Raziel’s lower torso with his knee, almost making his brother kneel. “But it won’t be as easy as defeating demons, you’ll see.”
But Michael soon felt a hard blow on his thigh, making him kneel hard on the floor. The blow was followed by a severely strong punch to Michael’s face, lifting him high above the ground.
“You forgot that me and my sword are one, and at the same time, completely separate beings.” Raziel spoke up, breathing heavily from the knee strike at his body. Michael was surely strong, he had to give him that.
But it wasn’t enough to bring the untouchable archangel down, and it was shown at that moment, in front of all angels and demons in the war room.
Raziel’s blade floated in front of him, in a protective manner as Michael fell from the ceiling, face flat off to the floor again.
The strongest archangel stood up again, brilliant golden blood flowing from his broken nose.
A scary smile crept on Michael’s lips as he spoke.
“I HAVEN’T BEEN HIT IN AGES! THANK YOU FOR THE FUN, BROTHER!” But then his tone became dead serious and deeply low, almost like a growl. “But now it’s my time...”
And like that, Michael vanished from Raziel’s sight, appearing at the next split second right in front of the Adversary’s Bane, striking it so hard and fiercely that sparks flew from each of their blades.
The Bane and the Flame clashed against each other violently, while Raziel watched and watched.

Michael’s aura grew thicker and thicker, the blackish purple smoke-like energy surrounding him densely as he stroke again, again and again, and with one last strike, Michael sent the Adversary’s Bane flying straight to the ceiling, sticking it right where he hit the place a while before.
Raziel looked a bit distressed at his blade, but it was a mistake. Because the next second he looked at where Michael was, he lost the other archangel.
“Looking for me, brother?” Michael sneered, appearing behind his enemy.
The punch came solid and fast, sending Raziel flying towards the door. If it weren’t for his armour, his back would be powder by then.
Blood spurted from his lips from the impact. However, he landed standing up, looking really furious.
“I don’t know who you are, but you’re not Michael!” He said, flying towards his enemy with incredible speed, landing punch after punch, just a hairbreadth from Michael’s body, trying to make him defend himself, giving an opening for the finishing blow.
However, Michael didn’t seem to be falling for that trick, just observing each and every of Raziel’s punches.
Their eyes were locked in a staring competition as fierce as the blows that Raziel was distributing, but suddenly, Michael felt an acute pain to his shoulder, looking utterly baffled, to see Raziel’s sword stuck into his shoulder.
A loud shriek came from Michael’s throat, a mix of pain and deep rage as he fell to his knees in front of Raziel, who smiled thinly.
Only to be greeted by a sudden explosion of energy coming from Michael, his aura then flooding the whole hall like toxic smoke.
“You... YOU...”
Raziel didn’t see Metatron’s hand giving a signal to every demon in the room.
The only thing he felt was Asmodeus’s claws trespassing his belly, shredding his armour like it was nothing, making him gush a mouthful of blood.
“You really think we’d leave all the fun to him, brother...?” The demon king snorted at the sound of the word, taking his hand from Raziel’s belly.
“What... Is... The meaning...” The archangel tried to ask, but no other words came to follow the sentence, as Zagan came in front of him, opened his mouth with filthy hands, and tore his tongue out.
Raziel’s screams could be heard through the whole hall, as Metatron spoke with a bit of sadness in his dark voice.
“We do not need an example like this. Eat him...”
And Raziel kept screaming, as all the demons came over him and started biting him in his whole body, taking huge chunks of the archangel’s flesh. And Raziel kept screaming.
Until only blood and silence remained.

Primal Adaptation
The story of a little soul that ends up tangled in the games and bets of entities that utilize beasts of any primordial planet as a game avatar to make the Perfect Primal. This tale is not only its story because it will also share its destiny with the entity that will help it in its journey, and together they will rise from their particular situations one way or another. Primal Adaptation is a history with some RPG elements in it, but the MC can't look at a status screen or skill page because it's a beast through and through. I have implemented an evolution system for all the creatures of this story, where they grow or mutate depending on what they consume. In this tale, you won't find a Deus ex machina to give the protagonist power-ups. Everything must be learned and comprehended before its use unless it's something it gets immediately, or the abilities get understood by instinct. In essence, it is survival and gambit for opportunities, be it from one MC or the other.
