《The Legacy of a Pirate》Chapter 4 Home

"How do we stop this damn thing?!" I shouted at the top of my lungs as the ship zoomed across the ocean with no signs of stopping.

The ship generated massive waves behind it, and if one was to be caught in them, then they would ultimately be washed away.

"Woohoo!" Fay acted as if this was some kind of ride as she flailed her tiny arms into the air, the speed didn't affect her at all.

"Ugh..." I groaned as I was beginning to feel sick, but then Fay pressed another button. And immediately I detected signs of the ship slowing down.

"The booster has been deactivated..." The robotic voice said as the ship finally came to a slow halt.

"Why didn't you do that earlier...?"I asked as I slowly sank to the floor.

"Wasn't it fun though?!" Fay shouted with a smile on her adorable face.

"You little-"

The automatic door suddenly opened, and Liam was standing in front of the entrance.

"Gahahaha! Boy, what are you doing on the floor?"Liam laughed at my miserable state as he stepped forward to help me back up onto my feet.

Once I gathered my bearings, I then rapid-fire questions at Liam. All of this happened in a matter of hours, and I needed to know what was going on here!

"What was that just now?! What's this on my hand?!"I yelled as I pointed to the skull marking that was still on the back of my right hand.

"--And who was that woman?! I saw that you actually went easier on her! Captain! Answer my questions!"

"Woah Woah Woah! Slow down with the questions boy!" Liam laughed as he placed his hand onto my shoulder to try to calm me down.

"You will get your answers later. But, in the meantime, we need to make it back to base."

"But Captain!"

"Ian, just listen to me..." Liam softly said with a stern look in his eyes.

"Fine..."I softly sighed as I nodded my head unwillingly. I then proceeded to walk out the bridge as I contemplated everything that happened recently.

(He only says my name when something is wrong...sigh...but that power...)

I clenched my fist tightly to see if I could feel that strange power at all but no such luck.

Liam's POV----

I waited till he was out of sight to talk with Fay, "Fay did he..?"

"Yes...I had no choice but to press the booster before he really went overboard. I don't think he is ready for that kind of power yet."Fay said as she knew what I was going to ask. She flew over to the side of my head.

"I know...but I didn't think they would find us this early! Damn it! And they sent her! Out all the people...I hope I didn't hurt her too badly" I sighed

"Once they know that she failed to catch him, they will send out more. We need to push the plan further ahead....Go keep an eye on Ian for a little while."

"Aye sir!~" Fay answered as she quickly flies out of the bridge to catch up Ian.

I then looked up at the ceiling with fury in my eyes, "I know you are watching...And I know you think everyone and everything will dance to your special tune. But just you wait...you will pay for what you have done!"

I gritted my teeth as rage welled inside, clenching my first until they started to hurt. After a moment I then returned to my usual demeanor.

I glanced down at my shirtless body, and ripped pants, "Gahahaha...Oh, I need new clothes!"

Ian's POV------

"Hey, brat why don't ya help us clean up the ship!"

I looked toward the sound of the voice to find a mop coming at me!

I caught the mop one-handed as I glare at the culprit, "Help? You just want to go slack off again!"

A short brown haired man who was the equivalent to an uncle for me named Derek. He was the first mate on the ship, but he rarely ever did his duties. The captain never reprimanded him for his actions, and I always found it quite strange.

Derek pushed his glasses up onto his face as he smiled at me, "I'm not slacking off. I just need to do something more important than physical activity. I mean look at me, I wouldn't be much help anyway."

I admit I always wondered how someone so weak-looking could be the first mate, but no one here treated him with anything less than respect.

"Now, get to work," Derek said as he laughed.

I groaned as I watched Derek walk off towards the quarterdeck of the ship. The cleaning of the ship isn't bad, but the little fairy who stayed by my side was a problem!

"Hey! Ian, look you missed a spot!"

"Hey! Ian, what did you think about that boost from earlier!?"

"Hey! Ian, I'm hungry let's go eat!"

"Hey! Ian..."

Several hours went by just like that, and I kept myself busy the entire time by helping other crew members clean up different parts of the ship, but I found it quite hard to concentrate with Tio being around me. A moment later I would finally take a break up in the crow's nest.

"It really isn't going to go away." I sighed as I held my hand up in the air, staring at the mark.

"Nope, it's there for life so get used it!" Fay chirped as she pumped her tiny fist into the air.

(Ugh...this annoying little...She has been bothering me all day! )

I knew Fay was keeping watch over me for some reason, but I didn't give it much thought at the moment.

"Fay when are you going back to Captain? I'm sure he needs you" I asked as I glared intensely at the little fairy.

"I'm b-bothering y-you?" Fay started to form tears in her eyes as she looked at me like an abandoned puppy.

(Damn! Those tears are so fake! Why is she being so clingy today?!)

"No, you aren't bothering me at all.." I sighed

"Yaay! I'll keep hanging out with you then."

Fay hugged my cheek with her little arms before she flew up to the top of my head and sat down on top of it. I stared across the ocean in deep thought for a moment. The sun was about to set in the horizon and image combined with the smell of the ocean soothed all my worries away.

"I hope this isn't going to be an everyday thing, Fay," I said as I leaned over in the crow's nest

"Hmm..it might be an everyday thing. You just don't know~"

"Damn it...Can't you-!"

The sound of a horn cuts the conversation short, and soon an island came into my view. The island was pretty large, stretching 40 miles long and wide. I could see different sized buildings standing on the stretch of land, and lights were illuminating the entire place.

The ship slowly came up to the docks, and the sounds of a busy city entered my ears. The familiar sound brought upon a smile on my face as my eyes slightly widen from excitement.

"The moving pirate city, Aldine... We are finally home."
