《My Bodyguard.》Chapter 19- Misery Business

'This sucks ass.' Scarlette thought to herself as she put a blazer over her dress shirt. She's supposed to go on a date with Maverick that day without Marshall. She's panicking. Marshall told her how Maverick was his brother and the conversation that took place between them. She hated him! Especially after talking to her boyfriend like that.
She sighed as she stroked the long stray curls away from her face. She looked forward to having a date with Marshall, but apparently, Maverick's "tight schedule" demanded to see her that day. She carefully put her black wedges on to her small, delicate feet. She awkwardly walked out of her room, and to the living room downstairs, where her mother and Maverick were waiting for her.
Her mother's eyes lit up with excitement and Maverick just stared at her. She averted her gaze from Maverick. She hated that man with a passion.
"Darling, you look beautiful! Her mother gushed. "So much prettier than you are most of the time, why, you should dress that way more often!"
Scarlette plastered on a fake smile. "Thank you, mother, but I think I should head out with Maverick now."
"Yes, yes of course, sweetheart! Have fun, okay?" Her mother squealed in excitement, kissing her daughter's cheek. Scarlette flushed red as she made a beeline for the door, with Maverick following lazily behind.
"Drive." She said as she got into his car.
"Excuse me?" He asked, shocked that the he was given such an order.
"Just drive. Wherever the date is supposed to be, I don't care. Just drive."
Maverick smirked. "Okay. Okay."
She gave him a bitchy smile, amd the conversation died down.
"You know, like it-"
"Shut up Maverick. I know. I have to marry you. Like it or not. That's the way it has to be." She muttered bitterly.

"Well... It's good you know your place." Maverick said. "Your parents are counting on you. You don't want to dissapoint them, now would you?"
Scarlette shrank into her seat, her jaw set, trying not to cry.
"Whatever." She mumbled softly. "I don't care anymore."
Maverick shook his head. "Scarlette. This is supposed to be fun. Can't you just be happy? I'm saving you from your lonely ass life, and your overbearing parents. You should be thanking me."
She glared at him. "There is nothing to thank you about. You may get my parents off my back, but I don't love you and I never will, and I will never ever marry you."
SMACK.
He smacked her upside the head.
"You will not talk to me that way. The next time you do, it's going to be much, much worse. Understand?"
She nodded. "Okay..."
"You will address me as sir."
She lowered her head in obedience. "Yes sir."
"Good." He smirked. "Now I will be bringing you out everyday without your boyfriend, and I expect you to ear aprropriate clothing at all times."
She shot up straight in her seat. "M-my boyfriend? You know?"
"Of course I know. It's painfully obvious the way he longingly stares at you. Blech. So sentimental." He said darkly, malice lacing his voice. "Now my goal is to seperate you two for as long as possible. He will not ruin my plans to become rich and affluent. He will not. Can not. Intervene. Even if he tried, I'll have him offed before he can even tell you he loves you. So don't get your hopes up."
Scarlette sank further into her seat.
"Yes sir."
His mood suddenly changed, and smiled sweetly.
"Great! Now, let's head to the restaurant, and we can get to know each other there, alright?"
She nodded, ending the conversation. She looked out the window, and hugged herself. She couldn't believe what her life has become.
'Not only am I arranged to marry an ass, but I'm arranged to marry an abusive ass? Just fucking great. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo.' She thought to herself sadly. 'I have to get out of this situation... And run. Run far, far away from here. I just hope I'll get to run away with Marshall.'

Romance - plus Judgemental Powers? Completed
Blue was a red headed boy who desperately wanted a girlfriend. So he asked the class beauty to walk home with him. She very nicely refused him. So he asked another girl in the same class, one with an average rating in the social status ranking. She also refused him. So, still desperate, he thinks – “I’m probably at the bottom of the ranking for boys in this class, so how about I ask the girl who is also at the lowest ranking?” The girl’s name was Pink. She said yes. Gulp. “What do I do now?” was his reaction. Well, obviously, have a romance. And, along the way, they get one hell of a lot more than they bargained for. Like, for example, supernatural Judgemental Powers. How did they get those? And that was only the start. The two most insignificant students in their class become famous. Not just in their class or even in their school, but to the population at large. They end up breaking and making the top politicians and rulers of their country. But finally, of course, they get what they wanted. A committed relationship. This is an Esmeralda the Angel of Death story. It follows on from my previous novel “Maybe it would have been a good idea not to wish for a harem?”, however it is a totally separate story with only a minimal overlap in the characters. There is no need to read the first story to enjoy this one. Although you just might enjoy the first story also… This story has multiple characters and multiple Points of View. Every POV change is clearly marked with a new header. Inside each POV section, the POV character’s thoughts are in italics. This story has about 105,000 words (about 380 RoyalRoad pages). It is fully written and proof read (the poor man’s proof read using Word). It has 25 chapters, and will be published at the rate of roughly one chapter per day.
