《Come Back To Me, Kiwi.》Chapter 28 - Dad and Photos

I was in the kitchen getting more cake for Dad and I felt so happy that I'd baked a tasty cake. Dad enjoyed it and that was enough for me. I quickly cut another perfect slice and I headed back to the couches where Vivi was now smiling brightly.
Dad was great. He made everyone smile. And I loved that Vivi was smiling now. It made me feel extra happy and safe around him.
I sat down on the couch and gave Dad his cake. He smiled at me and thanked me, leaning forward and kissing me on the cheek. He was very gentle and that was nice.
My heart was pounding and my hands were shaking, but I was still comfortable enough to stay where I was.
"How's Momma?" Vivi asked.
"Hazelnut is good. She almost had a tantrum when she found out I was coming here and she wasn't coming." Dad laughed.
"Hazelnut?" I giggled.
"Her name is Hazel so dad calls her Hazelnut." Vivi explained.
I smiled, that was pretty cute. It was kind of like how Vivi called me Kiwi.
"Like how you call me Kiwi." I smiled.
"I think we're obsessed with food, so we pick food names for our girls." Dad chuckled.
I smiled, feeling even more comfortable now.
"What about Remi? Did you convince him to start thinking of a relationship?" Vivi asked.
"I talked to him and he insisted he didn't have to worry about it and that it would just come.... but I've already started scheming. A plan is in action, don't you worry." Dad said, devouring half the slice of cake in a matter of seconds.
"What plan?" Vivi laughed.
"I may or may not have planted a Juliet at Ferrari Law.... he'll run into her eventually." Dad laughed.
"You're trying to set him up?" Vivi asked in surprise.
"No. I gave a girl a job, that's what I did. She applied and for some weird reason your idiot brother let me carry out the interview, so of course I gave her the job. And she works in the same division. Her office is like five meters away from Romeo's." Dad laughed.
"What's her name?" I asked quietly, wanting to contribute to the conversation.
"Can you guess?" Dad asked.
"Juliet?" I giggled, knowing it was wrong. That was a little bit too much of a coincidence.
"Yup." Dad said.
"What? You're lying." Vivi said.
"No. Her name is Juliet." Dad confirmed.
"So Remi is gonna have his own Romeo and Juliet love story?" I giggled, remembering how I had to read that story when they put me in that makeshift homeschooling program thing at the facility.
"Hopefully, if my plan works out." Dad laughed.
I chuckled, hoping that Remi's story didn't end the way Romeo and Juliet ended, but hoping he and Juliet actually got together and had a happy life.
"Dad, why don't you tell Kiara about yourself?" Vivi said, knowing I wanted to get to know Dad.
"Well, I like to take pictures... hence the camera." Dad told me.
I smiled and he patted the couch a little closer to him than I was sitting.
"If you come closer I can show you some of the pictures I've taken." He told me.
I slowly inched closer and he moved the camera which was hanging around his neck. He held it close to me and he flipped through. The first picture I saw was of Momma with a beautiful sunset behind her.

"Pretty." I breathed out.
"Isn't my wife the prettiest?" He laughed.
I nodded, smiling because I definitely agreed. Momma and Vivi had the most beautiful hair in the world. Momma was a very, very beautiful woman. From her pretty hair to her pretty eyes. She was gorgeous. I wondered if she actually liked me.
"She's excited to spend some more time with you, Bunny." Dad told me.
"Really?" I asked, kind of surprised to hear that.
"Of course. We're all excited to get to know you better." He smiled.
"My parents are super excited too." Dad said.
"Your parents?" I asked.
"Yeah, I don't know if you noticed them in the background in the villa that day, but they were super excited about you." Dad said.
"What do I call them?" I asked.
"Nana Isabella and Papa Matteo." Dad told me.
"Are they nice?" I asked softly.
"They're the nicest." Dad told me with a chuckle.
His chuckle was the same as Vivi's, which was pretty cute. Vivi got his dad's chuckle.
I smiled and I inched closer, letting Dad wrap an arm around me and flip through a bunch of photos with me. I saw Fifi and Uncle Rico and Even Remi in some of the pictures.
Then I saw another lady, and when I asked who it was, Dad told me it was his sister. She was Aunt Emelia. She was very beautiful too. I loved her curly hair. In the picture, Uncle Killian, the one Vivi told me was an orphan too, he was holding Aunt Em in his arms.
"Is he her husband?" I asked.
"Yeah, he is." Dad smiled.
"He was pretty mean to Vivi." I frowned.
"He was just trying to see if you'd get mad at him for being mean, and trying to prove a point to us all. He was trying to show everyone that you cared about Vivi and show them that Vivi never hurt you. Otherwise you wouldn't defend him." Dad explained to me.
"What is he like?" I asked.
"He's really quiet and shy." Dad told me.
"Like Uncle Rico?" I asked, looking up at dad.
"No. Uncle Rico just takes a while to warm up to people, he struggles with his emotions, like Vidal." Dad smiled, looking at Vivi.
"But Vivi is your son." I said.
"Yeah, he just came out a lot more like his uncle than his own father, but that's ok. Theo, Uncle Rico's son, he's more like me. Life has just done some mean things to him and he's hardened up a little bit." Dad explained.
"That's why he was grumpy with me and Vivi." I said, nodding and looking back down at the photos.
"That's Arabella." I said.
"Yeah. She's Sophie and Rico's daughter." He said as he flipped to the next photo with her and the two little girls from my first day at the mansion with Vivi.
"They're cute." I smiled, looking at the little girls with their Momma. They looked just like her, except that they were blonde.
"They are." He smiled.
"Can you teach me how to take pictures?" I asked, then I retracting in shock, not believing that I just said that out loud and with the utmost confidence too.
"Aw, my little Bunny! Of course I can." He smiled, kissing my forehead and giving me a warm hug.

He was so happy that I asked him that, I didn't necessarily know why. Maybe it was because I showed that I was comfortable with him, or maybe it was because he was getting an excuse to hang out with me. Either way, he was happy and I was glad I could make him happy.
"Kiwi, do you want us to take Dad to the little pond we found? Then he can show you how to take pictures there." Vivi suggested.
"Yes! Will you come with us, Daddy." I said, and them I clamped my hand over my mouth.
Daddy? Where did that come from? Have I lost my mind?!
What is wrong with me? If I keep blurting things out like this, he's going to think I have a big mouth and he's not going to like me or want to be around me.
Dad's eyes started tearing up as he looked at me.
"Oh, My Love." He smiled, brushing my hair away from my face.
I didn't understand why he was getting emotional. I felt happy because I knew he liked being my Dad. I always wanted to know what it felt like to have a father, but I never got that chance. Now he was accepting that position.
"Oh, Sweetheart, come here for a second." He said, hugging me as a tear fell from his eye.
"Why're you crying?" I asked him.
"I've always wanted a daughter. I've never had a girl call me Dad before. Now I have you." He told me, kissing my cheek.
"But Arabella is almost like your daughter." I said softly. "Didn't she make mistakes between you since her dad stole your face?"
Daddy burst into a huge fit of laughter, kissing my forehead and letting me go.
"She didn't make mistakes. By the time she could speak, she knew how to tell between us. But you're right she is like my daughter. But you, you are my daughter." Dad told me.
"I've never had a Dad before." I said softly, surprising myself because of how forward I was, even though my heart was beating out of my chest and my mouth was getting super dry. I was very nervous still, not wanting to mess anything up. But things were going well.
"Well now you do." Dad told me with a smile.
"Come on, off we go." Vivi told us, reaching out for my hand.
I took it and I took Daddy's hand, pulling them both out the door and letting Vivi lock it before I dragged both of them out of the building. I was excited to take pictures.
The walk to the pond was nice. Dad held my hand and he was super caring and sweet the whole time. He held my hand and he brushed my hair away from my face whenever it started blowing into my face.
"Vidal. Go model." Daddy said as soon as we arrived at the pond.
Vivi walked up to the pond and suddenly he was in model mode, which was horrible for me, because I just wanted to run up to him and kiss him. He looked so good, with that weird look he was sending our way. I took a few pictures with Dad and then, they took pictures of me. After that, Dad just started taking pictures of the little pond and the beautiful scenery around us.
"Vivi? Can we get ice cream?" I asked, and I noticed dad who was standing behind Vivi gesturing something for me.
I eventually realized he was telling me to pout, so I did exactly that. I pouted up at Vivi and asked again.
"Please, Vivi?" I asked him.
"But last time we went for ice cream your stomach was hurting for so long after that." Vivi argued.
"Please?!" I asked again, widening my eyes more this time when I pouted.
"Let's go. We'll get some lactose free ice cream for my Bunny, hopefully it won't hurt her belly." Dad said.
I smiled and looked at Vivi, pouting at him one last time until he finally relented.
"Alright, let's go, Kiwi." He smiled, making me jump at him and hug him tightly.
I was happy with Dad and Vivi, they were a good Duo to be around.
When we got to the shop, I insisted we get Momma some ice cream too, and I told Vivi to tell her to come over for when we got home. Maybe then I could get my haircut. I felt bad when Daddy said she almost threw a tantrum about not being invited. I didn't want her to feel left out. She was going to be one of the people I was closest to in my life. I wanted her to be a part of this.
Something was going on with me. I was happy excited and scared all at once. I was beginning to overwhelm myself. But I kept pushing through. I loved spending time with Dad. It was just hard to get through my internal feelings.
I held it all together. We arrived back at the apartment and I put Momma's ice cream in the freezer and while I looked like I was completely fine, I was internally in a state of complete panic. The panic grew out of control within me until it reached its peak when Momma walked through the door. I ran to the bedroom and shut the door, sliding to the ground against it. Vivi immediately pushed the door open, pushing me along with it. Then he scooped me up into his arms.
"Hey, you're ok, Kiwi." He said, connecting our foreheads as I completely lost my mind. I was hyperventilating and just completely out of it. I couldn't relax, no matter what I did.
"Hey, Princess." I heard Momma's shaky voice from outside the door, causing me to gasp and freeze. "I know you're scared, baby. But I swear, I'd never hurt you. I don't know if my word means anything to you. But I-I think I'll j-just go and come back another time, alright Princess?"
My heart broke hearing her voice tremble like that.
"M-momma." I said, shooting up out of Vidal's lap and towards my Momma.
Sure, I was being impulsive and running off of some weird love I didn't yet understand. But I just didn't want Momma to be hurt and I wanted my Momma to make everything feel better.
As soon as I saw her I collapsed in her arms and she pulled me close.
I completely lost it, crying and blurting everything out. I'd never felt that way before. It was a weird kind of mental breakdown.
