Fear radiated off of Alex as she shook vigorously. I had never raised my voice in this kind of manner. It not only scared Alex, it scared me as well. "P-please don't make me tell you." She stammered out. Before I released her and took a step back.

This was serious.

I stared into her eyes and gave her a pleading look. "Alex please. As my friend, I am asking you to tell me what I don't know." She bit her bottom lip and nodded. "Okay, follow me." She lead me into an empty guest room.

Once inside she sat down on the edge of the bed. She patted the seat next to her and gestured for me to sit next to her. I was having second thoughts about this conversation and was ready to say forget it and leave, but I knew the unknown would eat at me. I took in a deep breath and made my way towards her.

The moment I sat down she took my hand in hers. She took a deep breath then spoke, "Titus went through a rough patch after finding out you were his mate. And Lily was always power hungry." I knew where this was going and I didn't like it one bit. Neither did my wolf as she growled lowly in the back of my head.

She squeezed my hand reassuringly. "They slept together after Titus's visit from your pack." I ran my hand over my face and sighed.

I don't know what hurt more. The fact that he slept with Lily or the fact that he slept with another knowing I was his mate.

Tears began to blur my vision. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Alex wrapped her arms around me. I knew Titus could feel my pain, and would come looking for me after a while. "Titus can explain it better than I can. I-It's really not my place."

I shook my head. "I don't care." Tears ran down my face like a stream.

Brinn? Titus's voice ran through my head.

His voice made me cry even harder. Brinn what's wrong?

I stared into Alex's eyes. "You should go, Titus will be here soon. I don't want you getting in trouble." She nodded then stood, bringing me into one last hug before she left.

When the door to the room closed, I brought my hands to my face. I began to cry uncontrollably, ignoring Titus's pleads. It felt like my heart was being shattered into pieces. Only Titus had the power to break my heart, and that's exactly what he did.

I held my hand to my chest and my wolf howled out in pain. She felt the same as me...

Betrayed.

Broken.

The door to the room swung open, revealing Titus, Ryan, and Al. I stood and back away from the three. Titus walked towards me slowly. His face held concern and worry. "Brinnley?" As we stood there face to face I pushed my pain to the side as anger began to cloud my vision.

He reached his hands out for me and I snapped. I don't what came over me, but before I could stop myself a loud ringing noise echoed through the room as my hand came in contact the side of his face. His head snapped to the side.

Ryan and Al's eyes went wide as they held similar expressions.

Shock.

When Titus turned back to face me, his eyes were gold and his canines were out. Maybe it was the adrenaline running through my bones, but I refused to back down. I stared him in the eye, challenging him. "LEAVE!" He ordered to Al and Ryan, not taking his eyes off me. They both shot me looks of pity before they rushed out of the room.

"Stand down now! I will not ask again!" He shouted.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Did you sleep with Lily?!" He stared at me wide eyed. His expression quickly changed as guilt took over.

He directed his gaze to the ground. "W-who told you?"

Wrong answer.

"You bástard!" I yelled as I pounded my fist against his chest repeatedly. He grabbed my arms and pulled me back. I snapped my arms out of his grip. "I don't understand! Why would you do that to me!" I cried out before sobs racked through my body.

He pulled me to his chest. "I don't know Brinn. I was stupid and at the time I hated that you were my mate." I pushed him away from me. "I don't care!" That was not an excuse.

He closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened them they were filled with unshed tears. He dropped to his knees, grabbing my hands. "Please Brinnley. Forgive me. I am so sorry." He begged.

He was truly pathetic.

I shook my head, as I snatched my hands out of his grip. "No!" I snapped. His eyes went wide, surprised by my response.

"I will never forgive you! You did this! You ruined us!" I said through sobs.

He tugged at his hair in frustration. Something in him changed like a light switch. He was on me in an instant. He stood and pinned me against the wall. "YOU ARE NOT LEAVING ME!" He roared, his wolf surfacing.

Before I could comprehend what was going on, he sunk his teeth into my neck. I let out a bloodcurdling scream so foreign to even me.

When he retracted his canines, I immediately brought my hand to my neck. I stared down at my bloody hand. Everything began moving in slow motion as the shock of events replayed in my head. The last thing I remembered was the door being knocked down before I sunk into darkness.

I held Brinn's limp body in my hands. I lost control. It's something I haven't done in a long time. I tried my hardest to pull my wolf back but he was too far gone. He panicked at the thought of losing his mate. On instinct, he claimed her.

My mother and father rushed into the room, taking in the scene in shock. It didn't look good. My mouth covered in Brinn's blood. While blood traveled down her neck. "What did you do?!" My mother exclaimed in horror.

"I-I lost control. She was going to leave me." She didn't say the words but I could see it in her eyes, her true intentions. The first chance she got, she would've bolted.

"She found out?" My dad asked, slightly alarmed. I nodded slowly, ashamed.

He shook his head. "You knew this was going to happen! You should have fúcking listened when we told you to leave that whóre alone! Now look at what you've done!" He spat out.

Anger boiled inside of me. This was an argument my father and I had had far too many times. I knew I fúcked up, but I didn't need him reminding me of it every chance he got. "You don't think I fúcking know that!"

He let out a low growl. "Watch your tone! I am still your father!"

"Stop it both of you!" My mom interjected. We both took deep breaths and nodded.

"Get her to your house. I'll send Taylor over to take a look at her."

I nodded then picked Brinn up bridal style. I had done this to her. I hurt her in ways a mate shouldn't. This was all my fault and I didn't know how to fix it. The damage was done.

I did not care for Lily. Everyone in the pack knew of her real intentions. At the time, I didn't want Brinn as my mate, she was just a pup and it upset me that we were even mates. I felt ashamed in myself to know those were the thoughts that went through my mind at the time. I just needed someone to be there. And Lily was. After it had been done I knew I made a mistake and knew there was no going back. It wasn't fair to Brinn and I felt horrible for it. I was constantly hurting her and that was the last thing I ever wanted to do.

Many pack members gave me confused looks as I walked down the halls. I ignored them and continued on my way.

Once I reached our bedroom I placed her gently on the bed. I pulled the covers over her small body. I paced the room back and forth and ran my hands through my head.

Taylor walked into the room in a rush. "Alpha." She bowed then got to work. I sat against the chair in the far end of the room. I didn't want to hurt her more than I already had, so it was best to keep my distance.

After I got confirmation she was okay I was going to go on a run. My wolf needed to be let out and I didn't want Brinn to be around when that happened.

I probably sat there for a good twenty minutes before Taylor called me over. I sat up and walked towards Taylor and my beautiful mate. Taylor placed a bandage over Brinn's mark. Brinn's hair was sprawled around her head. And her eyes were glued shut. He chest rose and fell at a steady beat. She made this cute scrunching motion with her nose every once in a while.

"Alpha. She's doing fine. She just needs to rest." I nodded.

"You may leave now. I'm sure you have other wolves to attend to." She nodded then left the room.

I stayed by Brinn's side for as long as I could, but eventually my wolf was becoming a pain to handle. I mind linked Ryan to keep an eye out for Brinn while I was gone.

When I left the house I immediately shifted into my dark grey wolf. I pumped my legs against the forest floor. Everything around me was moving in full speed. I caught sight of a deer and instantly dug my teeth into his flesh.

I knew at that point,

This would be a long run.
