I managed to tidy around two pizza boxes before I remember why I didn't drink.

My eleven am class.

So yet again, I was late.

Which leads me to where I am now, frantically running around my dorm room trying to be on time.

I keep running round swearing whilst Axel just lays on the floor.

"You know, we didn't hook up or anything. You don't need to freak out and run away." He says, his voice quiet due to his hangover.

I ignore him.

"I'm so dead." I groan, as I pull on my shoes.

My mismatched outfit consists of leggings, a red t-shirt with some sort of football sign on it. Plus, some black ankle boots.

I'm pretty sure the t-shirt is one of Rob's old one's.

Not quite Gucci.

Grabbing my bag, I run out of the room.

And that's how my first morning with Axel ended.

••••

Opening the door to my classroom, Miss Poppy immediately makes eye contact with me.

She gives me her signature death glare and I immediately regret wearing red.

It's like I'm asking for a punishment essay.

I look around the room and realise that the chairs are set in a square today.

I scan the room, looking for Emma but I can't seem to find her. I assume she's hungover judging by how drunk she was last night.

Setting my sights on a free seat. I walk over and sit down silently, refusing to make eye contact with anyone.

I can feel the whole class's gaze on me as I sit down. I immediately shrink with the attention.

Public attention. Ew.

As I sit down, I feel someone tap my shoulder.

"Here's what you've missed." A deep voice whispers as a piece of paper is handed to me.

I turn to my side to see a guy looking at me kindly.

He's obviously tall, but not too tall. Maybe around six foot? His brown eyes immediately capture my attention and his messy brown hair keeps it.

Where were these guys in high school?!

"Thank you. Is it anything important?" I ask, silently praying that I've not missed much. I am forty five minutes late though, so the chances aren't high.

At least I turned up.

"Not really, Miss Poppy is just droning on." He says back, our voices still quiet.

I look around the classroom to see Miss Poppy leaning over someone's desk explaining the new theory. The students face is bored, like every single other one in the class.

"Well, if it's not important, then I don't need it." I decide, giving the guys piece of paper back.

I don't even know his name and I'm talking away.

Literally anyone could be a creep and I wouldn't notice.

"I'm Dean by the way, if I hadn't already said so." He smiles, like he was reading my thoughts.

"Skylar." I reply, smiling back.

Why do I keep smiling?

"So you in for dance or just an easy class that turned out hard?" He asks, turning around in his desk so he faces me.

"Dance." I clarify as I turn round too. "You?"

"I'm choreography, I can't dance very well but I can plan them well." Dean shrugs. "I love seeing the realisations on people's faces, who wanted an easy class, realise this is - in no shape or form - an easy class."

I laugh and nod, totally agreeing. "Seeing the hope die in their eyes when they see dance isn't that easy is weirdly brilliant."

"It isn't easy! I don't know why everyone thinks it is." He groans in annoyance.

"They clearly think that when we're dying in finals week it's from having too much fun and not exams." I say.

"It's like they think we just turn up at parties start twerking and then boom, college degree." Dean says, annoyance laced through his every word.

I begin to laugh but a high pitch voice interrupts us.

"What's so funny Miss Black? Anything you would like to share with your fellow classmates?" Miss Poppy asks, standing right beside my desk.

She's got a hand on her hip and an eyebrow raised, looking a mascot for all of the stressed teachers.

I immediately turn the right way round in my chair and shake my head. "No Miss, sorry."

Why am I apologising?

She wasn't even teaching the whole class when I came in, yet a five minute chat is too far.

Teachers will be the death of me.

"Good, now...." Miss Poppy walks back to the front of the class.

Dean and I both roll our eyes at each other, directed at Miss Poppy, before turning back to the front.

Dance really isn't easy.

••••

"So you live close to here?" Dean asks, as we walk out of that god-awful class.

Although, every class is god-awful.

"Yeah, in the dorms. I'm in the senior building." I shrug, mentally slapping myself for telling Dean where I live so easily.

"Cool, I'm in a apartment around three blocks from there. You'll need to drop by sometime, I'm having a party soon." He explains.

"Oh, sounds cool! Could I bring my roommate?" I ask, knowing Rob loves that kind of environment.

"Yeah, bring anyone you want. The more people, the better the party." Dean grins, showing off his perfectly straight teeth.

"Cool, well I need to go, but I'll be sure to stop by."

Dean agrees and we swap phone numbers and he promises to text me the address, nearer the time.

All I need is an outfit.

Oh, joy.

••••

After another lecture, I walk back to my dorm.

Opening the door, I'm hit with a floral shirt to the face.

Literally.

Peeling it off, I see Rob sitting on the floor. He's surrounded by clothes, a desperate look on his face.

"I don't know what to wear!" Rob wails as soon as he sees me.

"Really?" I ask sarcastically. I drop my bag beside my bed, and climb onto it sitting cross legged.

"It's not funny! I have that date I told you about." He frowns.

My mind spins back to when Rob first told me he was gay and then freaked out because his family didn't support him.

I nod my head in remembrance. "So, you look good in what your wearing." I joke.

Rob, dressed in his Star Wars pyjamas, does not find this funny. He lets out a wail if despair and falls back onto the clothes that are coating the floor.

"It's fine, calm down! Where are you going for the date?" I ask, needing a starting point.

"Bowling. Like what the fuck, Drew knows I have no arm strength?!" Rob throws his hands up from the floor. "Maybe I shouldn't go, my family doesn't support it anyway."

I then stand over him, my hands on my hips.

"And you're going to let that fucking stop you? No! Get your ass up and let's get you a cute outfit! Let's show your family how their disapproval is not going to stop you doing anything." I declare, trying to encourage Rob.

It works.

"Fuck yeah! You're right!" He springs up from the floor and begins picking up clothes from the floor for a re-evaluation.

This leads to Rob and I's hour long search for the perfect outfit.

It was hilarious however, Rob usually has great style but damn he's got some quirky clothes.

"Why the fuck do you have a golfing outfit?" I ask, completely amused by the thought of Rob's stick thin legs in checkered shorts.

"I was trying something okay? Most teenagers go goth, I go golf." He shrugs as if it's no big deal.

I however think it's a massive deal and immediately begin hysterically laughing.

"Oh god, I would've paid to see that." I say, whilst wiping away the tears that have formed from laughing.

"Yeah, you wouldn't have. It was hideous." He shudders, as if reliving the memory.

"It sounds brilliant!"

••••

"I'm so fucking nervous." Rob complains, bouncing his leg while he sits on his bed.

He looks good though, after the whole golf fiasco we actually concentrated and got an outfit together.

His hair is gelled, but still messy. He insisted on it and after a while he admitted that it was because Drew said he liked it that way.

He also admitted that his real name is Andrew but only Rob is allowed to call him Drew.

Cue the fake gag.

"You'll be fine. Make a joke about balls because you're bowling and you'll be sorted."

"It's insane." Rob looks me in the eyes, from across the room due to us both sitting in our beds, with a faraway look on his face.

"What's insane?" I ask.

"How similar you and Axel are. He would literally say the same thing." He explains.

"Were you drinking tequila in the bathroom?" I ask.

"Not at all, need to be on my A-game for the first kiss." Rob winks. "We also haven't talked about how cozy you and Axel looked in the bedroom last night."

How did he even see us?

"That was nothi-" I'm cut off by a sharp knock on the door.

Robs eyes widen but I give him a reassuring nod. He opens the door and slips out before I can even see who it was.

Saved by the knock.

••••

That afternoon I go for a walk around the area, ending up at park.

I sit down on a bench and begin reading, although I keep getting distracted by people watching.

I'm smiling at a mum and her baby as my phone buzzes in my pocket.

I think I need another omelette. Come round to mine tomorrow at seven.

••••

Ooo, what's going to happen? Maybe blossom will make another appearance. Jk, wouldn't do that to you guys ;)

Maybe.

No Axel in this chapter, purely because he's been them a lot lately and he's going to be in the next!

So, instead I concentrated on her other friends!

What's our thoughts on Dean?
