《The Lilly Within the Ashes》Ch 21

I didn't have enough strength to look behind me to watch Jason slowly disappear from my vision. With being a worried wreak and seeing how scared Jason looked, it was a miracle that I was able to keep the tears from falling. When I knew we were about to turn off the road that led to the house, I was so tempted to ask the driver to turn back. But I didn't, and I knew it wouldn't happen if I asked anyway. The driver was under Jason's command to drive me to the cabin and to not return until stated to do so by Jason or Anthony.
The hour drive to the cabin was filled with Maria trying to cheer me up while I hummed in response and used every muscle in my body to not cry. Once arriving at the so called "cabin", I jumped out of the vehicle and ran up to the two-story mansion made of logs without saying a word.
I sat down on a couch and watched the driver take my luggage to my room while the guards posted themselves at the doors. The cabin itself was just as much gorgeous as it was on the outside as it was in the inside. The only thing I hated was the moose head hung above the fireplace. Its plastic black eyes stared directly at me, giving me the chills.
Maria entered soon after the driver returned from the top floor. She informed me she was going to make some stew for dinner causing me to nod my head without speaking a word. "Lilly stop being so sad! Think positive! We get to have a girl vacation!" I tried to match her enthusiasm, but all I could give her was a forced smile. It might seem like a girl vacation to Maria, but to me it was missing Jason and praying to God he would not get hurt.
Soon dinner was ready and Maria served the guards and driver before sitting down with me to eat. We talked about what we were going to do during our stay, like swim in the pond, make s'mores, paint our nails, and etc. But while she was excited for our upcoming plans, I felt relaxing and having a good time was wrong. Jason, Anthony, and the rest of the gang are probably going to go into war with my parent's killer. The only thing I wanted to do was pray and hope everything would be okay.

I went to get up to take my bowl to the sink but I very quickly felt drowsy and nauseas in a matter of seconds. I told Maria I was heading to bed and apologized for not cleaning up, but I was not feeling well. I wobbled up the stairs and entered my room, but before making it to the bed, I passed out.
-----------------------------------------
I woke up to ice cold water splashing onto my body, causing me to instantly wake up. Getting ahold of my surroundings, the need to vomit soon arised. I was tied to a chair, wet, and surrounded by the dead bodies of all the guards and the driver. In front of me was Maria with an evil glint in her eye. Not knowing what else to do beside projectile vomit, I screamed.
SMACK!
Pins and needles heated up my left cheek, stopping my ear piercing cries. "Shut up! God I had to deal with your screaming for so long! Do you know how hard it was to be nice to you?!" My bottom lip started to quiver and I felt my tears fall down my cheeks, but I held my sobs in.
She walked around my chair, kicking a guard out of her way, to only step in front of me again. Only inches from my face. "I was supposed to last a few more days with you, but luckily my boss wanted to speed things up. Glad I brought a little arsenic or it would have been really difficult to get rid of these morons." With that, she stepped away from me and kicked one of the guards in the head, moving his face to look right at me with his glassy, lifeless eyes. I couldn't hold it any longer and whatever was in my stomach painted the floor beside me.
Spitting out what ever was left in my mouth, I looked back at my so-called friend. "W-why?" I croaked from the tears and the burn of the bile in my throat. Maria rolled her eyes, and brought another chair over to sit directly in front of me. "Oh don't look so confused bitch. Now stop asking stupid questions and lets have a little fun before my boss gets here?" But I was confused and wanted answers. "But Jason is your boss." Another smack was sent to my other cheek, causing me to bite my tongue and leave a metallic taste in my mouth.

"I TOLD YOU TO SHUT UP!" She screamed so loud I felt her spit hit my burning face. I then noticed the butcher knife in her hand that I didn't notice before. "Now as I was saying, lets have a little fun."
I'm in a fucking meeting. I didn't know I had to do CEO shit as a mafia leader, but god damn it, it's for Lilly and the gang, so it must be done. Before this meeting even started, Charles, a new recruit, decided to be a smart ass and not know his place. "Why the fuck are we risking our lives for a dumb whore?" Slowly looking up from the papers in my hands I made the calmest look I could muster. The little shit already looked like he was going to piss his pants the moment he saw my face.
"Hey Anthony, you got a pen?" My right hand man looked at me with a look of amusement, and without questioning it, he gave me one of his fine-point metal pens. "Come here Charles." The shaking chihuahua walked over to me and sat down once I pulled a chair out for him. The room was dead silent with my men wondering what I planned to do. "That's a nice ring you got there. Can I see it?" He put his hand up for me to see the cheap piece of metal. "Thanks it was my grandfa-" Before he was able to finish, I grabbed his hand, and smashed the pen right through it and through the solid oak table.
His screaming echoed through the silent room of men. I forcefully grabbed his chin, making his eyes look directly at mine while he tried to squirm out of my hold. "Oh Charles, you have a long way to go. You see all the men in here?" I turned his head, to stare at all of them. Most looked completely fine with the situation, but a few looked at him with wide eyes. "These men know not to talk until I let them know what's going on. So if you waited, you would of found out that this meeting isn't only about saving the love of my life, which your puni-ass dick will never have, but it's also about saving my damn familia!" I quickly drew out my gun and shot him in the back of the head, killing him instantly. "Now, anymore questions or comments?"
The meeting went on for a few hours without anymore interruptions, until Anthony told me I had a phone call with a very pale face. Seeing just by his face, the call was important, and I sent the men to lunch.
"What." I growl into the cell. "Ouch, that's no way to talk to your brother. But I guess knowing you, you like to get straight to business." My face paled hearing my youngest brother on the phone. "I have your Angel with me. If you want to ever see her alive, I need you to bring me a contract that states you will be handing me the familia business." He soon hung up but sent a photo seconds later with a bruised and bloody Lilly tied up to a chair.
