"We have every available officer within a 200 mile radius looking for them Bryan. And every single unit around here knows exactly what they look like and we will be keeping a close eye on the area around you for them. If anything happens we will contact you," Logan, our FBI connection, told me as we talked on the phone later that day.

I sighed. "Thanks Logan. I just really want these bastards caught because I don't want someone I'm connected to fearing for their life every time they step outside," I told him.

"I understand that Bryan. But know that if one of you kills them I'm not sure I can get you out of that mess."

"Trust me Logan. If we kill them you won't be able to find any proof that it was us."

"Take care Bryan."

"Bye Logan," we hung up and I slouched back in my chair with a sigh.

Very rarely I was in my office unless I had paperwork to deal with. I'd rather be out socializing with the club and being around them than in a small room doing paperwork and stressing about shit.

However, I needed to be in here.

I was looking into the documents that Hacker gave me about Scarlett's parents in hope that it would give us more information as to what they were involved in.

I was going to take every precaution necessary and if it's true that they were involved with major drug deals then those people could come looking for Scarlett and Spider, and they would come here.

Plus, Ripper's mother was still out there as well.

Sighing, I laid my head down on the desk and let out a small groan. Feeling something press up against my leg, I looked down and saw Leo looking back up at me. I smiled and reached down, scratching his head lightly.

"What am I gonna do Leo?" I asked quietly, obviously not expecting an answer.

A knock sounded on the door and I groaned quietly.

"Come in," I called.

Scarlett opened my office door, shyly poking her head in.

"Are you busy?" She asked.

I sat up and smiled, gesturing her in. "Not too busy, what do you need?"

She came in and sat in one of the chairs on the other side of my desk.

"Any luck with anything?" She asked.

I sighed and shook my head. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing." I put my face in my hands and groaned.

I was frustrated because not only was this now more serious than it was originally, but the woman who I'm quickly getting immense feelings for is still in danger.

I heard her move around to my side of the desk before I felt her place her hand on my shoulder. I didn't fight against her when she applied pressure to sit me back up. Instead, I let her push me into a upright position.

Before I knew it, she was moving to sit on my lap.

Her actions shocked me so much to where I was unable to even move as she placed herself gently and carefully on top of me, before wrapping her arms around my shoulders.

Feeling her warmth against me brought me more comfort than I thought it would and I relaxed against her, wrapping my arms around her to pull her close.

"What's this for?" I mumbled against her shoulder.

She shrugged gently against me. "I figured it would comfort you. Plus I wanted to do this anyways."

I hummed and closed my eyes, breathing in her faint scent of flowers. Immediately my body seemed to relax and the previous tenseness that I had just seemed to dissipate.

"I felt that. You were super tense," she muttered.

I nodded. "I know."

We sat in silence after that for awhile, just basking in each other's presence.

Honestly, at that point I didn't know what I would do without her with me. We hadn't known each other for very long but she had already made such a big difference it was insane.

I've been happier since she arrived, I've quit drinking alcohol as much as I was, and now she's helping with my stress with everything.

It was nice to have someone care.

I was realizing then that what Bethany and I had was not a healthy relationship. Yeah I thought that we were happy but being with Scarlett has made me realize that I wasn't truly happy back then.

And now just being around her has made me much more relaxed and happy, it was a nice change.

"You smell good," Scarlett muttered.

I chuckled and pulled her as close as I possibly could. "So do you sweetheart."

"I haven't showered today," she scoffed.

"Neither have I and you said that I smell good too."

"You always smell good."

"And so do you."

"Stop it!" She laughed.

I chuckled and pulled away so I was looking at her. "I'm just speaking the truth."

She rolled her eyes and moved to get off of my lap but I held her to me, keeping her from moving away.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"You calm me down. I'm stressed as fuck and you came in here and calmed me down within a few moments."

I sat up more so we were closer and kept my arms hooked together behind her. One of my favorite things about her was the fact that she thought about others before herself. And I've told her before to always make sure that she takes time for herself and to not always do everything for others, but she's such a selfless person. She loves doing things for others without a second thought and it lets me know that she's a true person. She's true because she isn't someone who only wants something out of someone. Nowadays people always want something out of you but that doesn't matter to her. A rare, pure soul is what she is and that makes me even more attracted to her.

"You need to take a break," she said.

"I'm taking one right now," I replied. She rolled her eyes.

"I mean get out of your office. You've been cooped up in here for hours."

I sighed. "I have work to do, and things to figure out. I can't just leave when I have to do a bunch of stuff to do that helps keep my club safe."

She sighed and absentmindedly played with the ends of my hair while she seemed to think.

"Can't you just take a break for like an hour?" She asked shyly.

I sighed.

"I guess so," not even a second after the words left my mouth she was off of my lap and dragging me out of my office with an excited squeal.

I just let her drag me down the stairs with an amused smile.

As soon as we entered and walked over to the bar I saw Lilly and Ripper talking with Kali, Miranda, Jessie, Smiles, Key, Ace and Spider. Smiles and Miranda were working behind the bar.

"Aye good job Scarlett you finally got the boss out," Spider jokes once he saw his sister dragging me behind her.

She sat me on one of the barstools.

"Stay," she ordered before going behind the bar and into the kitchen.

I rolled my eyes and looked over at the others who were already smiling at me.

"So..." Lilly grinned, "do I have myself a mom yet?"

Laughing, I shook my head, ignoring the slight pain in my chest at seeing her face fall.

"We're deciding that once this is over we will be in a more serious relationship. But for now we're just testing things out and seeing where everything goes," I explained.

"But you like her right?" Kali asked.

I smiled softly and nodded. "I do."

Later that night, Scarlett and I were sitting out on my balcony looking up at the stars. It was slightly warmer out that night than what it had been lately so we decided to use that to our advantage.

We were sitting side by side on a couple of chairs, our hands resting together in between us. Leo was by our feet with his head on his paws, enjoying the night with us.

"Do you ever think about what your life would've been like if it had been normal?" Scarlett asked quietly.

I thought for a moment.

"Well if my life had been normal than a lot of things that helped me to grow and learn as a person wouldn't have happened, and I would probably have two daughters right now, my ex-wife wouldn't have gone crazy and would've probably been the one in your spot right now," I paused and looked at her before smiling. "Plus I wouldn't have gotten the chance to be this close with you."

Scarlett laughed and shook her head at me. "You're so cheesy."

"It's the truth though!"

We laughed together before falling into another comfortable silence.

"You know," Scarlett spoke again, causing me to look at her. "Even if I could go back in time and erase all of the bad things that have happened to me, I'm not sure if I would."

"Why not?"

She sighed. "Just erasing the bad wouldn't change what type of person someone is. My parents would still be criminals, just not bring me into it. My ex wouldn't be going after me but if it's not me than it's another girl that probably doesn't have a bunch of angry bikers at her disposal," she smirked while nudging me. I rolled me eyes.

"But seriously," she continued. "I wouldn't change anything because I know that if I wiped them from my memories than they would be in someone else's, and no one deserves that burden to carry around with them."

I stood up and grabbed her to stand as well. Once she was right in front of me I pulled her into my arms.

"Two down, three criminals and a psychotic mother to go."
