Standing there frozen I stare at him while also praying that the ground opens up right now and swallows me whole.
He stands there shaking his head and glares at me, "Who the hell are you?" His teeth are clenched and the muscle in his jaw flexes.
I stay silent in fear of what might come next. He didn't seem like the kind of person that believed in accidents and forgiveness. I noticed I was still on the floor because the view from down here was much scarier considering he was towering over me. I stand and rub my sweaty palms against my dress noticing that he was actually very tall compared to me as he still towered over me.
"I-I'm um," I clear my throat so I don't sound weak, "I'm Ashley." I nod for no reason at all and stick out my hand for a handshake. I didn't realize how stupid that was though until after his eyes flickered from my face to my awkwardly outstretched hand and back. I decided then to lower it.
"Ashley," he growls my name like he was speaking about Voldemort. "Are you ignorant?" He asks and at first, I thought I heard wrong.
"Excuse me?" I said partly confused and partly offended.
"I said," he says very loudly and I flinch. "Are. You. Ignorant?" The small crowd of people that surrounded us erupted into snickers. Even though it was completely stupid and childish, my cheeks heat up and my throat runs dry from embarrassment.
"No," I reply my voice unintentionally quiet and I avoid his gaze just wanting this to be over. I try to walk away when someone pushes me back forcing me to stay in my place.
"Are you sure?" He replies taking a step toward me and I take a step back. "You must be. Because not only were you not looking where the hell you were going, but you also can't hear me when I talk to you." Besides the music still playing in the living room, the people around us were quiet. Some even whipped out their phones to get all of this on video I'm sue. With that realization, I swallow hard.

I can't believe this is happening to me. This has to be a nightmare. "I've never seen you before at any party. Who invited you, little girl?" Heat creeps up the back of my neck in embarrassment.
"Alright," I hear and Ryan showed up wrapping her arm around mine. "I think that's enough, Bain."
He shakes his head at Ryan. "I don't think she has." He looks at me now, "Have you?"
My voice is lost somewhere and I can't do anything but watch this humiliation continue.
He chuckles. "Please. She's pathetic. I should teach her a lesson. Seems like it'll do her some good."
What the hell was happening?
"Bain," Ryan shakes her head, "Come on she didn't know you were standing there, give her a break."
"Well, she should have been watching where she was going. She owes me for this." Bain points to his slightly bruising cheekbone. He stands straighter, his shoulders back and his overbearing dominance sucking all the oxygen out of the room. He comes extremely close to my face.
He grabs my chin a bit roughly and forces me to look in his eyes. "You're mine."
He then storms out of the house slamming the door and before you know it the music is booming again, everything that just happened erased from everyone's mind.
Ryan looks at me with a look of apology and then she sighs. "Let's go home."
