Sadie's POV

How can a school run out of dorm rooms? I thought schools had to accept the amount of students the dorms can fit. It's not possible! I even made sure to apply first thing in March when registration opened, there's no way I didn't get a dorm room.

I guess that's not completely true. I did get a dorm room.

In the guy's dorm!

I can't believe they're even allowing this to happen. Who was in charge? What person in their right mind would place an innocent girl like myself into a vile, hell-hole like this dorm? There were a million things wrong with this place!

For one, the obvious, I am a girl! For two it stinks so bad I'm worried the stench will soak into my hair and clothes and I will never rid myself of the putrid smell.

I tightened my grip on the two suitcase handles and swallowed the lump in my throat.

I had one of two choices. I could either suck it up and live in the guy's dorm this year at the most elite high school in the country, which was also four hours away from my hometown, or I could go crying to whoever is in charge of this 'elite' school and get sent home to my old high school.

What kind of 'elite' school doesn't pay attention for over boarding students in the dorms.

I didn't have a choice, it was time to buck up. If I wanted to stay then this was the price I was going to have to pay.

I took a quick, deep breath before pushing open the double glass doors leading into the main floor and lobby of the Wellington dorm. The first thing on my to-do list is buying at least a dozen scented candles and keeping them lit 24/7. I stepped up to the front desk where a handsome blond was spinning around in the office chair he sat in, not paying attention, headphones plugged into his ears and air drumming to the beat that was blaring loud enough for me to hear. I almost cleared my throat but noted that wouldn't get me anywhere with this wannabe drummer so instead I reached over the counter and tapped his shoulder. The guy came to an abrupt stop and turned to look at me, eyebrows raising in surprise. Probably because no sane girl would step foot in this germ infested building.

"If you're looking for the girls dorm it's down that way a bit further," He said pointing to his right, my left. Right, because they didn't just kick me out of there and sent me over here.

"Actually I'm here to get my room key, my name is Sadie Michaels," The blond stared at me like I had just spoken Chinese. "There should have been an email sent to you,"

"You do realize this is a guy's dorm right? Boys. No girls allowed," He said, still looking at me with a blank stare.

"Just check your email," I said shifting my weight from one foot to the other nervously. Maybe this was all a big misunderstanding and I wasn't even supposed to be here. Back home I go, I guess. The cute blond sat back down in his spinning chair and tapped away at the keyboard on the computer.

I waited for what seemed like 20 minutes but was really only about 20 seconds. 20 agonizing seconds.

The blond glanced over at me then back at his computer screen before grinning devilishly. He stood up, reaching for a pile of golden keys that were labeled with room numbers.

"My bad, looks like I got that email ten minutes ago. I'm Sid, allow me to show you around," The blond, Sid, slipped around the counter and grabbed one of my suitcases from me, leading me to the elevator. He was tall, at least 6'3" if not taller. The elevator doors swooshed open and he ushered me inside, pressing the number 8, the highest floor.

"I hope you enjoy it here, although I must admit your time here will most likely be pretty short," He said with a cocky smirk on his lips.

"What do you mean by that exactly?" I asked, knowing he was about to make some smartass comment about how I couldn't survive this place. I would do anything to stay away from my home town and the high school I had run away from and I mean anything. Including staying in a guy's dorm.

"Well I doubt the guys are going to be pleased with the news of a girl moving in. They'll probably try to run you off, which would be the nicest thing they could do," I kept my eyes on the digital floor numbers blinking at the top of the elevator wall. Floor 5, floor 6. "If that doesn't work then you'll have my respects but the guy's won't stop trying to run a girl from the dorm. This is our sanctuary and just because you were late registering for this year doesn't mean we all should suffer for it,"

Before I had the chance to put this cocky know-it-all in his place the elevator doors sprang open and he was pushing the suitcase he had taken from me into the hallway and then pushing me out of the elevator as well. In front of me was a long hallway riddled with guys, rough and rowdy, pushing each other, rushing back and forth between rooms, having spitting contests out the only window in the hallway and tossing a football down the whole length of the hall. The guy that was catching the football nearly ran me over.

Maybe this was going to be worse than I imagined it being.

"Here's your stop sweetheart, let me know if you need anything," He looked me up and down quickly and flashed me a smile. "Welcome,"

Then the doors were closing and I was left alone, completely aware of the eerie silence that had fallen over the hallway now. I glanced around and was met with multiple different emotions, anger, confusion, surprise. Some glared and some checked me out, not even hiding that they were, while most just stared with mouths open.

"Who the hell are you?" One of the guys asked. He pushed past a few guys and came face to face with me. He was tall, muscular with a light tan, dark green eyes and brown hair. He didn't have a shirt on, showing off his flat stomach, and the sweatpants he wore hung low on his hips. I found him terrifyingly attractive.

"My name's Sadie," I said, hoping my voice didn't sound as weak as I thought it did. I'm sure this pack of crazed boys could smell fear.

"Do you want to tell us why you're in our dorm? The guy's dorm," I swear these boys acted as if I was stupid, not being able to tell this was a guy's dorm right away. This guy was even taller than Sid, way taller. He towered over my 5'4" structure easily.

"There wasn't any room for me in the girls dorms," I replied, not knowing why exactly I had to explain my situation but figuring if I did he'd leave me alone. Hopefully.

"So what, you're just supposed to live here with us now? Is that even allowed?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"I guess it is now," A couple of the guys behind the tall one laughed. I wasn't sure if it was good laughter or evil laughter but I'll go with evil laughter.

"Do you at least play any sports, little girl? Or are you one of those prissy princesses like down the way?" He nodded off towards where the girls dorm was.

"Basketball and I run in track," I said quickly, hoping this conversation was coming to an end soon so that I could go to my room and curl up in a ball until classes started tomorrow. Why did playing sports have anything to do with this anyway?

"I guess that makes you a half jock, sort of," He huffed rolling his eyes and uncrossing his arms.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Why would me playing sports change anything? The guy groaned and shook his head.

"Do you know anything? This is a jocks dorm, made specifically for tri-sport athletes. Every guy in this dorm has to play at least 2 sports but almost all play year round. You're just lucky you even play a sport," He leaned in a little closer to me, but not too close. "We don't like games off the field so if you plan on bringing drama in here you might as well leave. Don't think you belong here but if you stay out of our way then you just might survive,"

Now I glared up at him. Who did this guy think he was threatening me?

"I don't do well with threats," Now I crossed my arms and he copied.

"Deal with it sweetheart, you're in our turf now so either play by the rules or get out," Although I doubt this guy would ever lay a hand on me it was a good thing I didn't like drama and wasn't planning on bringing any around. That was a big reason I even left my old school.

"All I need is a place to sleep, other than that you won't even notice I'm here, got it?" The guy's eyes seemed to light up at the fact that I wasn't backing down to his absurd threats.

"What room are you supposed to be in?" He demanded, the light that previously flashed in his eyes was now gone, replaced with the dark hard gaze just like before.

"824," I nearly dropped my keys before I was able to read the label on the little golden key. My hands were shaking, no matter how hard I tried to keep them still. Not from being scared, but from being beyond angry with this guy. Who did he think he was anyway?

"Of course," The guy mumbled as he tossed my key back at me, whirling around and stomping down the hall, disappearing into what I assumed was his room. The tension seemed to wash away as soon as he was out of sight and everyone went back to what they were doing before, minus a few who came to talk to me.

"Hey pretty lady!" A red head called out as he approached me. I was never into red heads, considering the ones I grew up with were complete jerks and hillbilly's but this guy was pretty attractive.

"Knock it off squid, she just got here don't creep her out yet," A black haired guy said smacking the red head, Squid, upside the head.

"I have an important question to ask you," A light brown haired guy with glasses and spectacular muscles said to me. "Could you possibly tell me howmuch a polar bear weighs?"

"Um, I have no clue?" He smiled at my answer and stuck out his hand for me to shake.

"Enough to break the ice. My name's Dyllan, it's nice to meet you. Sadie, right?" He asked shaking my hand gently.

"Yes, Sadie," I couldn't help but laugh. The horrible feeling in my stomach was beginning to fade away as more of the guys came and introduced themselves to me. Not all of them were as cold and mean as the one I previously met.

"I have much better pickup lines than that, trust me," The red head called out. "Anyway, I'm Squid and these are the twins, Jayden and Jace," He pointed at two blondes who waved at me with big grins and then pointed to a chubbier guy next to them. "This is Chunk,"

"It's really nice to meet all of you," I said politely and shook their hands. Jace kissed the back of my hand which was somewhat creepy but I let it slide for now. No drama.

"I'll show you to your room," Chunk said, eagerly beginning to lead me down the hallway.

"No, I'll be doing that," Dyllan said stepping in front of Chunk and cutting him off.

"Why can't we?" The twins both protested at the same time. I was starting to feel overwhelmed.

"I think I should be the one to escort her to her room," Squid joined in the argument. I never imagined five guys would be fighting over who would lead me down a hallway to find the room I'm supposed to be living in for the next year. Then again I had never imagined being forced to dorm with guys either.

"You know, I think I'll be able to find it on my own, thanks though," I mumbled, tired of the bickering and pushed past the guys to find my room. I could hear the guys blaming one another for me not accepting their offers but in reality it wasn't hard to walk down a hallway and find a labeled room that matched the label on your key.

"824, huh?" I heard someone ask as soon as I found my room. I turned to look at who was talking to me, he was shirtless as well. I guess none of the guys around here could seem to find their shirts. The guy had dark brown hair and was leaning against the door frame of his room, across the hall from mine. He was hot too, almost every single guy I saw in this dorm was hot, what gives?

"Yeah, guess so," I didn't know what else he expected me to say.

"Good luck, Kent can be kind of an asshole, just warning you,"
