《His Angels》chapter twenty

Today was pajama day which is the day I was looking forward to the most. I mean going into the worse place ever in your pajamas just makes it a little bit better.

I brushed my teeth and tied my hair up in a messy bun. Was I going to fix this? Hell no.

I put on mascara and walked downstairs.

"Excuse me miss, go back upstairs and get dressed," Levi demands.

"It's pajama day today."

"Oh. Well then come have breakfast." He puts out all the plates and I gobble that shit all up.

Since I didn't have to shower this morning I had extra time so I went into the nursery just to stare at the babies.

Yes, I'm weird. Do I care? Nope.

They obviously were sharing a room now but when they grow up they'll get Taylor and I's room. Claire is currently looking for apartments and I have to start soon. By the time Taylor graduates they'll be 2 or 3.

I grabbed my backpack from my room and went downstairs to wait for Taylor. Once he is done we get in my car and go to school.

I had to switch my shoes because I was driving with my slides and I wanted to wear my fluffy slippers.

I walked into school and got greeted by Kylie and Kyle. No sign of Rex anywhere.

"How are you?" Kylie engulfs me in a hug.

"I'm fine. Ainsley gave birth." I told them.

"Oh my gosh! Boy or girl? What's the name?"

"2 boys and 1 girl." They both gasped.

"Triplets? There are 6 of you Knightlys now! NO MORE!" Kyle screams causing a bunch of people to give us a glare.

"What are their names?"

"Kai Parker, Dakota Rain, and Aria Rosetta."

"Can I come to see them after school?" Kylie asks with pleading eyes. She loves babies just as much as I do.

"They won't be able to have visitors until tomorrow so you can come over then."

"Awesome. I might smuggle one of them home with me."

"Levi will tackle you to the ground before you could make it through your door."

"Curse him and his overprotective-ness for babies." She stomped her foot playfully.

"Have you seen Jax's sister?" Kyle's friend Connor walks up to us.

"Jax's sister," I whispered to myself. Oh, Journey.

"No, but I'm gonna go see her now!" Kylie says pulling me towards Jax's locker.

Jax spots me and he had a hint of guilt in his eyes.

It's probably from lying about Journey being his sister.

I'm upset too but I wasn't gonna let him know that. He's basically lying to the whole school about Journey and it just makes me sad. I know I shouldn't be sad but I just can't help it.

"Hey," I spoke softly.

"Hi." He replied with a smile.

Journey holds her arm out reaching for me.

"Hey, baby." I took her in my arm. She was wearing a blue unicorn onesie.

"Don't tell anyone yet." He whispers. I nod.

"Oh my goodness! She's so precious." Kylie says and tries to get Journey to come to her but Journey cuddles into me.

"Yeah, I don't think she likes you." I joked.

"What? Why? I didn't do anything!"

"I was joking." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh. You'll come to me soon you little baby. I'll make sure of it." She tickles Journey causing her to giggle.

"What is she doing in school?" I turned around and asked Jax.

"I couldn't find anyone to babysit her so I just took her. The principal is fine with it." I nod.

"How are you gonna focus on the work?" Kian asks Jax.

"She's a good baby."

"Last time I babysat her she threw a piece of cake at me." Kian pouts.

"How about I take her? I have straight A's and I'm ahead in most of my classes." I asked and he looks a bit hesitant.

"Okay. If she misbehaves just text me and I'll get her."

"Don't worry I can handle her."

The bell rings sadly. He kisses her forehead and tells her goodbye.

She goes back to cuddling herself into my chest.

The day goes by quickly which let's thank god for that because I hate it here and it's now time for lunch.

I had to stop by my locker and put my book back.

"Hey, baby." I heard a voice behind me.

"What do you want?"

"I miss you."

"Shut up."

"Calm down." Rex chuckles. I just glare at him.

"What's wrong?" He asks.

"There's nothing wrong with me but I should be asking you that."

"Nothing is wrong with me either. What makes you think—"

"The way you've been acting lately. I've never seen you act like that since the first day I've met you."

"Well, maybe I'm changing. If you can't deal with it then you can't be in my life anymore."

I bit the inside of my cheek to stop tears from coming out.

"After all we've been through this is how this is gonna end?"

"You're acting like we were in a relationship." He rolls his eyes.

"No, we had something more than any boyfriend I've had. We were best friends. We were really close and I've done nothing but be there for you and support you through everything." I picked up my bags from the ground. "If this is how you want it to be then so be it."

I turned around and started walking down the hall.

"Wait, I umm—." He says his voice shakey.

"See you around I guess." I kept walking and I didn't turn back around.

I wanted to cry so badly but I wasn't. At least not in front of everyone here.

Man, I'm gonna miss him.

I walked over to Jax's table and handed him, Journey.

"Hey." He puts Journey on his lap.

"Hey, guys." I waved at Dylan and Kian.

Dylan just stares at me like he was observing me.

"How was she?" Jax asks me.

"She was good. She stayed quiet the whole time and she went down for a nap during second and third period. She is definitely a deep sleeper." I told him.

"You're such a good baby." He picks her up blowing raspberries on her tummy.

"Aww, you're so good with your sister." A girl says. A group of girl behind her nods.

"Thanks." He says and I fiddle with my fingers.

Dylan grabs my hand and shakes his head.

"Don't do anything." He whispered.

"I wasn't." I pulled my hand away.

The rest of lunch went by quickly. Kian and I played with Journey and Dylan and Jax were talking about sports and stuff.
