《The Alphas Secret Wolf》Chapter 12

Slamming my hands on the desk I decided to stop and take a break. I've sat in my office for hours trying to figure out what kind strategy I need to do to get rid of these rogues.
After patrolling the territory myself and coming back to my office, I received a mind link from patrol telling me they smelled rogues near by. I sent out a search party to see if they can capture one and bring it back for questioning but my men were unlucky.
I heard someone coming up the stairs and that could mean only mean someone out of the three people I allow on this floor were coming to speak to me.
It was either My Father, my Beta Jeremiah or my third in command Joshua. When they were close enough I knew who it was because of their scent.
Knock.... Knock... Knock.
"You may enter." And just like that I saw my father walk through my office looking troubled. I was instantly on my feet.
"What is the matter? Did something happen at the meeting? I specifically told you to contact me."
He silenced me with his hand but still took his time to answer me. He sat down on the opposite side of my desk and poured himself some coffee.
I sat down waiting patiently for him to explain. He looked up at me from his coffee and took a sip. He sighed and began to explain what happened.
"To answer your previous questions, nothing is the matter, but yes something did happen."
I nod my head at him silently telling him to continue.
"Do you remember alpha David?"
I ponder through my memory but I do remember from when I was 10 he came over with his older son the future alpha.
"Yes, you invited him over one day with his mate and son. Why?"
"He was at the meeting today." To say I was shocked was an understatement.
Alpha David hadn't attended any meetings, ceremony's, and celebrations since his mate died. It made him weak just like it made my father weak. He up'd and moved with his children, leaving his territory to his beta who said he's the alpha for now but he was not taking it permanently.

From what I've heard alpha David visits the territory sometimes but doesn't stay. Loosing his mate took a tole on him. I vowed id never love a mate, or anyone for that matter. It was a waste of time to get attached. And for what? To have it one day be ripped away leaving you broken and fragile? Never.
"Why was he there? Is he reclaiming his tittle again permanently?"
My father and Alpha David were good friends. His mate was my mothers Bestfriend. So when he left without a word to my father or my mother it hurt him.
"No I don't think so. It seems he's heard of the rogue situation everyone seems to be having. His daughter was attacked the other day. She's fine because 'she is an Everlast'" my father smiled at that.
Giving him a questionable looked he said
"Those were his words. Not mines. At least a little bit of the David I once knew is still in there cocky as ever I tell you that." He smiled again remember his best friend and how he missed him.
"I didn't know he had a daughter. Any other children?"
"His oldest and soon to be alpha is Nathaniel. Then there are the middle kids who are also twins. Daniel and Alexander I don't know what their rank will be. And lastly his youngest and only daughter Evangeline." My father said while sipping his coffee.
"What do you mean soon to be alpha? He is my age am not correct?" I ask my father because it's really unheard of an Alpha waiting to pass down his tittle. Usually at 18 the oldest son is to have the tittle while his father steps down.
"It seems Alpha David has kept that part from him."
Speechless. That's all I am right now.
"I.... I don't..... I don't understand... Is that possible? To keep the title and pack away from his own son?" Im a little upset because if that were me I'd feel like my father felt as though I was to incompetent to hand such responsibility.
"It seems it is possible. But he did have a little fight with Jeremiah."
Hearing this I jump to my feet.

"WHAT! I told you to link me if anything happened!"
"I had everything under control. You had nothing to worry about. It wasn't a physical fight more of a verbal one."
I reign in my wolf because I can feel him trying to take over. It's times like these that I really hate my temper. Little things could set me off, which is why I'm known as a cruel person. I've never really been in control of my wolf but I'm not worried about him.
I take calming breaths and I can feel myself relax so I sit in my chair and look at my father.
"What was said?" I ask.
My father clears his throats and puts his coffee down.
"Well long story short Alpha David came into the meeting room and asked if he could speak to the council members alone in the hallway. It wasn't until a few minutes later that we heard yelling. Everybody in the room decided to get up and see what was happening thinking it was an emergency. When we got to the hallway Nathaniel was telling a council member to respect him and that he will not be talked down to. That's when Jeremiah had intervened and told Nathaniel he better watch his tone and to speak to the council members with respect then called him a mutt. Which Nathaniel replied to by calling Jeremiah a pup considering he is much taller than Him. Jeremiah then asked him to repeat it if he so wished to. Nathaniel didn't seem all that bothered by Jeremiah so he replied down boy. Took about three guards to hold Jeremiah back. "
At this point I was already shaking in my seat. Who dares talk to someone from my pack that way!? A beta no less!
"But that's not what shook us all up. He threatened everyone before he left including me. Though, it wasn't the words that scared me more like how he said it. "
I couldn't take it anymore so I shifted shredding my clothes in the process. My father backed away but he still remained calm.
"Braxton you need to calm down. I will continue if he shift back. I'll go get you a pair of sweats from your room."
Five minutes later my father returned with a pair grey sweats for me to change into. I finally calmed down and decided to change back. I took the sweats from my father nodding my thanks to him. I return to my seat so I can finish listening to what my father had to say about this so called threat.
"Continue."
"As he was leaving he turned around and looked at all of us saying if any of us disrespect him, his father, or his family again we would lived to regret it. And he would make it his own personal mission to slit our throats in our sleep." My father shivered at the threat which was surprising because he wasn't to scared of anything now and days.
"The words do not bother me it was the menacing tone he used and how cold his grey eyes were." My father said looking slightly scared. Maybe I should pay him a visit.
"Does he live around here?"
"Yes, I am told he lives further into the woods on an unclaimed territory that he bought. which is why I am here. I come to ask a favor. His father hadn't been the circle for quit some time. I'm scared the council will refuse his plea at giving him information of the rogues. He is an old friend and I wish to help him."
"No. He threatens you, disrespects my Beta and the council members? I want no part of that family."
"I thought you would say that. Very well, I will go on my own into the woods and to their home." My father gets up to leave but I can't let him.
"Fine. But Jeremiah and I will accompany you. Joshua will watch the territory until we return."
My father turns around and beams at me.
"Thank you son." I watch as
My father leaves towards the door but before he does he turns around and speaks.
"We leave the day after tomorrow." And with that he's gone.

In The Tall Grass
Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor. Development is going rather fast so I suggest to to read that if you like this story

8 218The Many Blades of Wuxia
Hundreds of years after the Heretic wars ended, life has returned to its blissful ignorant state that only peace could bring. Whilst the never-ending war between Man, Beast and Mutant rages on, most are not even aware of a war that happened between men. Its prophecies shattered, their remnants surviving only in obscure bard tales. One is about to grow. On the cracked face of the world, Essence storms and Beast Waves keep the citizenry locked atop the Emperor city of Qaelang. Knowledge of the past is as rare as the metals that flow into the hands of Sacred Artists and at the root of it all are whispers of a malignant force, ancient and terrible. Holding humanity back from achieving greatness, but hiding too are secrets best left untouched. Balance, discipline and order have held Qaelang secure since time immemorial, the powers within claiming to adhere to them. None are more fearful of change than the ones with the most to lose, but change is coming. Blade of Wuxia is a long character-focused epic fantasy with progression and growth. It's about a boy's quest to become powerful enough to save those he cares most for and give them a better life. It's set in a world of hidden pasts and uncovering them will set him on a path that shakes the Empire. As this is a rewrite that took on a wildly different spin, reviews are most welcome and help me do better. What can the reader expect? A Wuxia society set in a High fantasy world. People are only doing what they know and may have mistaken beliefs. A clever resourceful protagonist with human flaws A far-reaching hidden fantasy world, rich in history. Multiple points of view are used to follow the story to its natural conclusions, not every NPC has all the answers, but there is one MC in this book. Progression will take time and sometimes even unknowingly. MC is not trained in the ways and knowledge must be tempered against experimentation. Release Schedule. 2 chapters a week, family and work permitting. Only if I'm happy with the chapter will I release it. That being said I am open to revision should an articulated critical response show merit. This story is not completed yet but I do have a general idea of what the end looks like for both MC's (yes both) Ultimately feedback will be most influential on the progression of release as it's you guys I'm looking to entertain. Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.
