《The Runt & The Alpha》Chapter 49- Home.

Laughter filled the room as Dawn twirled around in circles. She had been doing this for about two minutes now. It amazed me how much fun she was having just by spinning.
"Dawn, you're going to get dizzy!" Genevieve stated, from her spot on the couch, Jacob sitting next to her.
"Yeah, princess come here." Jacob held his arms out for her but, she giggled and came running to me.
My heart melted as I picked her up to sit on my lap, her beautiful big brown eyes looking up at me. She was so beautiful and I couldn't believe this was my brothers daughter. She was my niece, I was an aunt.
"Don't let daddy gets me!" she squealed, hiding her face in my shoulder, holding onto me tighter.
Jacob smiled at me as well as Genevieve. I was really glad to be here at their house to spend some time with them. As yesterday's madness at the ceremony was just stressful. But, being here filled me with a new type of happiness. Landon had alpha duties to tend to but, he said he'd meet me here later on.
Which I was also excitingly waiting for, I miss him. Even if it had only been a couple hours, I'm always around him. So it's weird for me if he's not there when I turn my head.
"I'm going to get dinner started." Genevieve said softly with a smile, she got up and was about to walk away but, Jacob grabbed her.
"Kiss?" he asked, with a pout and Dawn shook her head, scrunching up her nose.
"Yucky." she covered her eyes and I laughed.
Genevieve leaned down, to kiss Jacob while I looked away. Hiding myself in Dawn's shoulder, rubbing her back.
"Don't loot! It will hurt your eyes." she whispered, I could only coo at how adorable she was.
Mia shouted, I blushed at her words but, in my heart I did too.
"Alright, Dawn why don't you come with me so aunt Layla can spend some time with dad." Genevieve said, and I looked up from her shoulder, to see her hand offered out.
"But, I want to spend time." she murmured, with a pout.
"Hey." I said, she looked at me, her arms crossed, "When you come back we can spend all the time in the world, go help your mom." I tickled her sides a bit, and kissed her cheek.

She giggled, "Otay!" she jumped off my lap, running to take her mother's hand and they were off to the kitchen.
"She loves you already." Jacob stated, with a grin on his face, shifting so he was facing me.
"I love her already." I laughed a bit, doing the same.
"I'm happy you're here." he said, "I just really want to make up for all the time we've lost." his tone sounded stressed.
"We will, don't worry." I gave him a reassuring smile.
He sighed in content, "Good, so please tell me what you've been doing for the past eighteen years besides the you know." his eyes shaded over, the anger he had about what happened to me surfacing.
"I draw." I replied quickly, to change his mindset, "And I read, there's this book called Animal Farm it's my favorite." I smiled, thinking of how I read it to Landon.
"That's amazing, maybe one day you can show me some of your drawings." his tone laced with genuine excitement and I nodded, while he leaned over placing his elbows on his knees.
"Of course, maybe I'll even draw you." I laughed a bit and he did too.
"I like to read as well, although Animal Farm is a great book, I go for more of a Diary of a Wimpy Kid kinda book." he sounded really proud as he said this.
I laughed, "Seriously?" I covered my laughing face with my hands.
"Easy." he laughed along with me, "You don't like my choice of books." I removed my hands, putting them in my lap.
"Oh, I totally do, but, I like mine to be a bit more serious." he rolled his eyes playfully, which made me smile more.
I love that it was so easy to talk to him, it felt right. I've never opened up to someone as fast as I have him. He was my brother but, sometimes it can be hard for me. Yet, he felt like, something I couldn't quite put my finger on.
"Fine, favorite movie, go." he leaned back, a smile on his face.
"Easy, Cars." I nodded my head, triumphantly.
He shook his head, "Really, my choice of books aren't serious enough for you, yet you watch cars who talk." he replied back, lightheartedly.

I laughed, "Okay, fine then what's your favorite movie?"
He mumbled under his breath, looking away and I narrowed my eyes, "What was that?" I questioned.
"I said..." his words kept trailing off and I just knew it was good.
"You're going to have to speak louder." I teased.
"Beauty and The Beast." he spoke, shamefully.
Mia was practically dying of laughter.
"Really and you tease me on my movie?" I asked, barely getting it out.
"It's all Dawn's fault." he crossed his arms looking identical to when Dawn did it, grumbling underneath his breath.
"I thought I heard your beautiful laugh." I looked up and seen Landon coming through the hallway.
I jumped up and instantly went into his open arms, feeling sparks spread throughout my body.
"I missed you." I mumbled, looking up at him he smiled, kissing my lips slowly.
Pulling away after a minute and leaning down to whisper in my ear, "I missed you too my love." There's the butterflies, he kissed my forehead before pulling away.
Landon looked to Jacob, "Hey." he greeted, they had first officially met each other yesterday since finding out the news.
"Hey." he greeted back, just as Genevieve came into the living room, a hopping Dawn behind her.
Her arms opened wide, "Dinner is ready!" she screamed.
My eyes widen at her outburst, which only made me love her more. Soon we were all sitting around the table eating dinner. Dawn occasionally saying how much she loves corn. And Jacob and I talked a bit more about everything. But, once Jacob and Landon started talking there was no way to get them to stop.
It was like they were fated to be friends, since they had so much in common. So Genevieve and I settled for our own conversation. And once dinner was over the guys took their talk to the living room. While us girls stayed to wash some dishes. And Dawn was taken upstairs for a nap.
Genevieve groaned, "It was totally Jacob's night to do the dishes." I laughed a bit.
"Yeah, I think he's in love with my mate." I joked, while she passed me forks she just scrubbed so I could rinse them.
"You think, pretty sure their planning on eloping even if he's married to me." she joked along with me, laughing as well.
Mia grumbled.
"So, how are you feeling about Brad and the others being gone?" she questioned, passing me a plate to rinse.
"I feel kind of safer more free in a way." I replied, putting the dish in the rack.
"I agree." she smiled, bumping my shoulder, I smiled as well, "What about Chester, do you think he'll do as you say and live up to what you've given him?" she asked, starting up on another dish.
"I hope, I mean his wolf has hurt me I know that but, a part of me is rooting for him." I sighed, feeling stupid for even saying that, "That makes me sound so stupid doesn't it?" I rinsed the plate off before placing it in the rack.
"Of course not, you see the good in people and that's okay, but, if he doesn't live up to what you see in him, use it as a lesson." she turned to me with a smile on her face.
"Thank you." I said, gratefully, "It means a lot." she winked at me.
"No problem." she replied.
We continued with the last few dishes before going to the living room. Both of them looking up at us as we entered the room. They stood up and came over to us. Landon gathering me in his arms, Jacob doing the same to Genevieve. I squealed as he picked me up, pecking me on the lips before setting me down.
"Ready to go?" he mumbled against my lips, brushing aside some hair.
"Mhm." I nodded.
They walked us to the door and I gave Genevieve a hug before Jacob. And as I was hugging him, I figured out what that feeling, I felt when I was talking to him was.
It felt like home.
