《The Babysitter✔️》Chapter||19

I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs lingering in the air, and after stretching I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen.
Tyler was cooking food as Jace, Cal, and Hallie sat around the breakfast table, watching him.
"You know, I'm starting to wonder why you're the one who's being paid to be the babysitter." Tyler commented as he flipped an omelette onto the plate and placed it in front of Hallie. Then he flipped another on to a plate and placed it in front of Cal.
Such a show off.
"We didn't have to bring you along you know, just consider this the price you have to pay." I said laughing.
Tyler scoffed and shook his head, "You wound me, Lexi, you do."
"Shut up, Tyler."
"Anyways," Jace said steering us back towards something that mattered. "What do we wanna do today?"
We had three full days left in the cabin before we needed to head back home.
"I've been looking online, and I was thinking maybe today we could go into the town and look around the shops." Tyler said.
"And tomorrow we could go tubing." I volunteered.
"And we could go hiking on Thursday." Jace added.
"Sounds like a plan." Tyler said smiling.
"Let's get to it." Hallie shouted.
...
"Come on Tyler! We're leaving!" I called out as I hopped into the front seat of the mini van.
Tyler ran out while he put his shirt on and I rolled my eyes. Tyler had no sense of urgency and he was always making me late.
He hopped in the back on the other side of Hallie.
"We're off." He said as he backed out of the driveway.
"Like a heard of turtles." I mumbled.

I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder lightly. "Lex, Wake up." Jace said softly.
My eyes opened and I looked around the car finding it empty.
"Tyler took Hallie and Cal into some year round Christmas store to use the restroom. You ok?" He asked.
"I'm fine." I replied as I opened the door and got out.
The street was filled with one story shops that were selling various knick knacks and such. From what I could see there was a small grocery store, and a shoe store across from it.
There was a small restaurant called China Town, and a bit down there was a snitzel place.
A kid's clothing place where we could get Hal a cute dress, and there was a sports place for Tyler, Jace, and Cal.
Jace ran around the side of the car and grabbed my hand. I smiled.
Jace is so cute.
...
We strolled through several shops, looking at everything from jewelry to sports equipment.
After a few hours of shopping we were all famished, so we stopped at a little restaurant on the way out.
Jace and I both got salads, Tyler got chicken tenders, Hallie got grilled cheese and Cal got a sandwich.
The food came out and Tyler looked at Jace, "nice salad Johnson."
"Thanks Tyler," Jace said sarcastically, "I'm sorry that I'm trying to stay in shape for soccer because more people show up for my games than they do for your football games. "
"As if," Tyler challenged, "Even if that were remotely true, Everyone knows the ladies prefer football players."
"I don't," I piped in and earned a scowl from Tyler.
Jace snickered and put his arm around me, "that's my girl."
"Ew,"Tyler said with an exaggerated sigh, "you two being together is hard to get used to. Just don't have sex and everything will be fine."

I nearly choked on the water I was drinking when he said that, and we all started laughing.
"That won't be a problem any time soon," Jace joked with a hint of blush on his cheeks.
After we all finished eating, Tyler got the check, and we went out to the car.
Earlier, Cal won a bet he made with Tyler, so he got to ride shotgun while Tyler drove. I sat in the back seat with Jace and Hallie. After a few minutes Hallie was asleep, and Jace put his head on my shoulder and dozed off as well.
When we finally got back to the house, I woke up both Hallie and Jace and we all went inside.
Tyler went upstairs to take a nap, and Cal went to talk to one of his friends on the phone.
"Lex," can we go swimming?" Hallie asked me sweetly.
"Yeah sure," I sighed and went to go put my bathing suit.
When I came back down from my room with my bathing suit on, Hallie was ready, and Jace was sitting on the couch with his swim trunks on. "You're going swimming too?" I asked.
"Yeah, if you are," he said with a smirk.
"I am," I said and grabbed 3 towels, and we all went to the dock.
....
After we got back from swimming, Jace helped me make dinner. We made spaghetti and meatballs, and I thought we made a pretty good team.
"Come and get it," I yelled and a few seconds later Tyler, Hallie, and Cal came running in.
We all ate, and afterwards I ended up doing the dishes with Hallie while the boy's watched an Auburn basketball game.
"Thanks for the help Hal," I told her with a wink.
"You're welcome!" Hallie exclaimed, "Can you help me get ready for bed?"
"Yeah sure," I said and picked her up and brought her to her room.
After Hallie was tucked in, I went up to my room and got ready for bed as well. I decided to take a quick shower, and when I was done I wrapped a towel around myself and walked out of the bathroom and into my room.
I grabbed my pajamas and was about to go back into the bathroom to change when Jace walked into the room.
I immediately started to blush even though I was fully covered. "I can come back..." Jace smirked at my blush.
"No it's okay... I'm going into the bathroom," I stuttered and scurried into the bathroom.
What was that? Way to be smooth Lex!
I sighed and put on my pjs and brushed my teeth.
When I was done I opened the door and Jace was sitting on my bed waiting for me.
"I thought you were watching that game," I said.
"Basketball's not really my thing if you haven't noticed," Jace said matter of factly.
