《The Babysitter✔️》Chapter||12

When I woke up, Jace was still sleeping on the floor next to Cal's bed.
This is the first time I woke up and Jace was still there... which reminded me that Jace had soccer.
I got up off the floor and then walked over to him "Jace, get up, you're late."
"I am?" He asked in a husky morning voice and pulled out his phone. As soon he saw the time his mouth dropped "Shit," he muttered.
"Maybe you can still make it. if you go get dressed really fast..." I rambled.
"Its okay," Jace smirked, "I don't think coach will kick his star played off the team for missing one practice.
"Its not even 6:30, and you're already cocky," Cal butted in with a smirk, now that he was awake. Naturally, Jace threw his pillow at cal, so I left before it turned into a 'pillow fight'.
I went into Hal's room and woke her up before going downstairs to make breakfast. I fried some bacon and eggs and set them out on the table "Breakfast!" I yelled up the stairs and Cal, Hal, and Jace all came trotting down.

"What are we waiting for?" Cal asked as we sat in the car after school.
"I'm waiting for Jace, I don't know if he needs a ride."
"There he is," Cal said and pointed over towards the school. There stood the blonde girl that Cal and I saw Jace locking lips with a few days before, and she was fuming at him. Jace stood there, with a straight face, as she screamed at him. Then when she was done, she stormed off.
After a few seconds, Jace saw our car and walked over and got in the back seat since Cal was already in the front. When he got in he let out a sigh. "What was that about?" Cal asked.
"I was trying to nicely tell Vanessa that we are not a couple and I do not think of her the same way that she thinks of me."

"Wow she didn't take it very well," Cal said sounding surprised.
"No kidding," Jace said and put his head in his hands.
"Hey, lets pick up Hal and after her soccer practice we can all go get ice cream," I suggested.
Jace laughed sarcastically, "I hate to break it to you Lex, but I'm on a strict diet, and sadly ice cream isn't a part of it."
"Sorry Jace, you're going to have to make an exception today," I commanded
"But..."Jace started
"No buts," I said sternly, "we are getting ice cream if you like it or not!"
We picked up Hal and took her to her practice. Hal's coach invited Jace to help her coach on the sidelines, she was a college student with wavy brown hair. Since Jace was coaching, Cal and I sat up on the bleachers and I helped him with his homework.
As I was sitting on the bleachers, I noticed the coach was looking at Jace too much for my taste... and it bothered me. Seriously, she was supposed to be coaching the kids.
After an hour, the practice was finally over, so everyone got in the car and we went to Baskin Robbins. We all ordered, and to my surprise Jace got two scoops in a waffle cone. "What happened to that diet?" I teased him.
"Hahaha, very funny," he mocked.
Cal saw one of his friends inside the ice cream shop, so Jace Hal and I went outside and sat on a bench to eat our ice cream. Hal sat on Jace's lap and I sat next to them. "So how was coaching Hal's team?" I asked, "The coach seems really... Nice."
Jace laughed, "It was really fun to coach the team, but Mary the coach is really annoying, she wasn't focused at all."
"Oh," I said. I don't know why but it made me kinda... Happy that Jace didn't like Mary.
"Oh? Whats that supposed to mean?" Jace asked with a smirk.
"I don't know," I said as I wiped the chocolate ice cream off of Hallie's mouth with a napkin. A few minutes later, Cal walked outside to where we were sitting, "Are you ready to go?" He asked.

"Yep," Jace said and we all stood up.

After putting Hal to bed, I took out my Calc textbook and started to study for my quiz the next day. As usual, I didn't understand any of it...
I debated wether or not I should just fail, or go ask Jace for some help. Eventually I put on my big girl panties and walked upstairs to Jace's room. I tapped on the door and then walked in. Jace was sitting on his bed strumming on his guitar. "Hey Jace, do you think you could help me with calculus if you aren't too busy?"
"Yeah sure, I can always make time for you Lex," He said with a chuckle and stood up. We walked down stairs and sat at the dinning room table where I had all my books spread out.
We had just finished and I actually understood the material now. "Thank you so much for helping me," I said and hugged Jace without thinking. I quickly pulled away and we made eye contact, he looked a little surprised. "Sorry I just got a excited that I actually understood the...." I rambled and started to blush.
"Its okay," Jace smiled as he leaned in closer to me, and for some reason I felt myself leaning into him as well. Just as our lips were about to meet, my phone went off. Jace and I immediately pulled apart. "Shit,"Jace muttered under his breath.
I picked up the phone not bothering to check who it was, "Hello," I said.
"Hey Lex," greeted Tyler's voice.
"Oh, hey Tyler," I said happily. Just as jace heard me say that he looked up
"So how are you?" He asked strangely.
"I'm fine, Ty Ty, how are you?" I replied.
My brother was so strange, but I loved him so much.
"So, um I need advice." He started.
"Of course you do," I sighed, "Why else would you be calling me?"
He ignored my statements and continued on, "So remember that guy you dated?" He asked.
"I've dated a few guys." I reminded him.
"Right, remember Ben?" Tyler asked.
"Yes I remember him." I replied gritting my teeth.
"Well, he has a sister..." Tyler trailed off leaving me to piece together the rest.
"I will not make amends with that asshole." I stated firmly, but wavered towards the end noticing Jace moving from the corner of my eye.
"Please Lex" Tyler whined, and I could quite vividly picture him pouting with his wide eyes and a face I could not resist. That image was wiped from my mind as I felt hands on my shoulders and a pair of lips on my neck.
I reached my hand back and hit Jace on the shoulder, turning to look at him as he smirked at me.
"Stop." I mouthed at him.
"No Tyler, you know how things ended." I said firmly.
Jace kissed the spot at the start of my collarbone, and this time, I hit him hard. "Jace for the love of God stop touching me!" I shouted.
Crap, Tyler.
"Jace?" Tyler asked enraged, "What the hell is he doing? I'm gonna kill him tomorrow."
"Wha-" I began to ask.
"Forget tomorrow, let me come over now." Tyler seethed.
"No Tyler, stay at home, I'm fine. Jace is just trying to mess with you." I insisted.
"Are you sure?" Tyler asked protectively.
"Yes, I'm sure. Now go to sleep. I love you, goodnight."
"Yeah Yeah, love you too." Tyler muttered and hung up.
After I hung the phone up I looked at jace "Really you asshole?"
"What?" Jace asked holding up his hands defensively.
"You know what." I replied. "Now I'm in trouble with Tyler."
"So? He doesn't control you. Plus, to be fair he called at a really really bad time." Jace huffed and I let out a laugh.
