《Unveiling the Arcane》Caden

My brother and I watched the unusual girl walk out of the room without even a glance in either of our directions. It was strange for us to not be fawned over by girls, especially Aiden considering his species. We were even acting strangely considering Aiden actually approached a girl and I didn't rob her blind. She was peculiar and far too alluring to be a normal person. She wouldn't have been able to walk onto campus if she was just a person after all. The wards wouldn't have allowed such a thing. She would have passed right over campus from one side of the ward to the other without ever touching school grounds. I glanced over to my brother and knew we were both thinking the same thing which was par for the course of our lives. We just became very interested in getting to know this new girl.
Sure, the school year had just started but there was no mistaking her for anything but the new girl. Sage had just started school here with a bunch of other students that had been attending the same boarding schools since elementary school. There was no doubt she would stick out like a sore thumb. Though it was doubtful that girl could ever blend in. With that long naturally blonde hair down to her hips and those sparkling bright blue eyes there was no way she could ever go unnoticed. She was beautiful in an almost understated way. Other girls worked hard to make sure they looked good, but I doubted that Sage cared what other people thought about her appearance. That just made her even more attractive and I really wanted to spend more time with her.
"I don't know why but I have a very intense need to get to know Sage better." Aiden interrupted my thoughts, making me smile.

"I want to own her." I gave him the half-smile he was so well known for.
"She's a person you can't own a person. Let's get to science before we decide to stalk her," Aiden said.
His continued conversation about Sage made me pause. My brother was never one to hold idle chit-chat about random topics. If he felt the need to say something, you knew it was important to him. The fact that he wanted me to act appropriately with Sage spoke volumes of itself. Generally, Maddox said more than Aiden and he wasn't even born with the ability to speak. I looked back the way that Sage had left before glancing back at Aiden. "If we start a fan club, I call dibs on being the president. We all know what happens under the desk in the oval office." I winked at Aiden.
He smirked at me as he looked back towards where Sage had disappeared thoughtfully. Aiden was almost acting like he had a whole personality hidden in his body and I wondered if Sage would accept a job to stalk my brother to see if this side of him would develop more. I enjoyed seeing my brother happy and interested in something going on in the world around him.
Sage Fleur was going to become our new best friend if I had anything to say about it. I guess it was an okay substitute for owning her; for now. Hopefully, she would be able to shake things up and make my brother a little more interested in life for once. I smirked to myself at the plan forming in my head while my brother and I headed toward our physics class.
