《Hot Chocolate》chapter nineteen, playground.

"You're so good at this!" Dani squealed. She's acting liking Theo is Chris Hemsworth or something, patting his arm and jumping up and down. Don't get me wrong, she's a nice girl - good at volleyball too, but she's spent the past fifteen minutes craving his attention.

Theo and I are in a good place now. Simple banter just like last year. I found myself wishing I didn't have training afterwards so we could go straight for hot chocolate instead.

I secretly rolled my eyes and I bent down for the shuttlecock, trying to drown out Daniella's squeaks and giggles. I was standing back up when I felt something tap my arse, and glanced back to see a smirking Joey. My blood boiled as I stood back up and used all my angry to hit him across the face with my racket.

"Enjoying the view are we?"

"Ah fuck." He rubbed his temple and nose. I did notice but I acted like nothing happened and carried on with the match.

Joey practically sat out of the game, and Dani just watched Theo in awe. I don't really mind though, tapping the shuttlecock back and forth with Theo helped calm me down. I ended up winning, but I think he went easy on me.

"Aw, we'll win next time." Dani gave Theo a rub on his back like he was a six-year-old about to throw a fit.

"Yeah..." he shook her off, "Hey, Cam." He sped up to catch me as I put my racket back with the others.

"Hey."

"You okay? Joey's being a prick-"

"I think he's the one you should check up on." I giggled, gesturing to the injured boy slumped in one of the seats on the stand.

"I don't get why you're making a big deal, this is what all the girls wear to training-"

"I'm not." He said defensively, "but the others were talking about you so I just tugged down your hoodie a bit..."

All eyes on me, great. Well I can't say I don't love the attention...

I groaned at his attempt to cover his tracks, still mumbling about Matt and Joey. I stopped paying attention and grabbing the hem of my hoodie and pulling it off, leaving me in my white sports bra. I tossed it onto one of the benches and bent down slowly, popping my arse in his face as I picked up a volleyball. "Don't be late for basketball."

"Hm?... oh right- still on for hot chocolate after?"

"Yeah, see ya." I avoided eye contact and strolled over to the other girls.

Everyone's been testing my patience this afternoon. I took Theo covering me as a joke, but then knowing the boys weren't just staring but also talking about me, and then Joey tapping my ass - sent me over the edge.

The only good thing about being angry is channeling it into determination, especially in sport.

"Doing good, Cam." Katie pat my back.

"Thanks."

"Keep that up Young and I'll have to make you captain - great work today."

I walked out of the hall with a smile on my face, wandering over to Theo's car and tossing my bags in his trunk. "Hey."

"Hey."

We we're quite silent at first, but soon forgot about gym and just talked. "God, you stink." I joked, lowering the window. I could smell the faint sweat from him but it was mainly his deodorant that swarmed the car.

"Shut up, I didn't have time to shower because somebody wanted hot chocolate."

"I'll run in and get two to go, we can sit outside or go to the park or something."

"You stink too you know." He informed me.

"Shut up."

I watched the way his thumbs moved on his grip of the wheel while he spoke. He always speaks with his hands but having to actually drive means he can't do that, so he just shrugged and bopped his fingers.

We pulled up outside of the café, and I hopped out, slipping into the small shop.

"Hi- two hot chocolates to go, please."

"Cream or marshmallows?"

"Just marshmallows... no cream today..."

"That was your fault not mine!"

"I specifically remember you shouting 'parkour!' before you jumped."

We sat in the basket swing, siping on our drinks, laughing about the stupid things we did here when we were younger.

"You told me it wasn't that far of a jump-"

"It wasn't! That's literally five foot tall." I gestured to the rock climbing wall across the playground that Theodore once gracefully fell off of.

"That's big when you're just a little boy..."

"You were thirteen!"

"I was a late developer okay?!"

I tossed my empty cup into the park bin and lay in the basket as Theo pushed his feet of the ground, swaying us.

"My finger's still bent, look." He showed me his wonky pinky finger, turned slightly outwards.

The sun peaked through the clouds as a slight breeze brushed off my bare limbs. I lay down and stared at the blue and white sky, my eyes trailing over where a plane has recently flown. "If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?"

He gave the ground a strong kick to keep us moving before lying down beside me, moving my hair so he didn't lie on it. "What's wrong with where we are right now?"

"Nothing, I just mean if you could be in any city or country in the world."

"Would you kill me if I said 'wherever you are'?"

His words twang something in my heart but I pretended it didn't, rolling my eyes and giving him a rough exhale.

I turned my head to see his was already facing mine. We lay centimetres apart, our breath combining. I stared into his deep brown eyes that pierced into mine, waiting for him to speak first because I definitely wasn't going to.

He broke eye contact by flashing his eyes to my lips before meeting my eyes again. I know that look well now, and I promised myself we wouldn't do this today. The swing slowed and we lay there inaudibly. He did it again, this time keeping his gaze on my lips for longer.

"What was that?" I whispered.

"What was what?" A smirk grew across his face.

"You know what."

"Well then you know what too." He edged his face closer, moving his hand to my waist.

It took every bit of self restraint I had, but I managed to pull my hand in between us, placing my index finger to his soft lips. "We said we wouldn't..."

"I know..." I felt his breath on my finger.

"There's people around..." My finger slipped off his lips, falling pathetically in between us.

"I know..." He gave me pleasing eyes, those irresistible expressions, his hands snaking across my hips, tugging me closer. "Just one wouldn't hurt."

I closed the gap and quickly left a peck on his lips before turning my face back to the sky.

It obviously wasn't enough for him because his hand moved to grab my face, tugging it to his as he latched his mouth onto mine.

We moved slowly, our lips gently pressing, contrasting to the tight grip he had on my face. His tongue inched forwards so I opened my mouth, allowing him entry. Our breath flowed together, turning into smooth groans.

I waited for him to pull away or let go of my face but he didn't. He was making the most of his one kiss.

He sat forward, using his free hand to hold him up as his other kept my face held close to his so I couldn't break free, even if I wanted to.

I felt him lean his body on mine and I almost forgot where we were, until he let go, our lips discontinued, moving his hands to both side of the swing as he climbed off.

He pulled the swing back before running forwards, almost tipping me out of the swing.

"Theodore!" My fingers looped into the netting below me, holding on like my life depended on it.

The basket almost did a full 360°, my life flashing before my eyes as I squealed. I peeked my eyes open to see Theo sat down on the park bench, giggling as he watched me suffer.

"Please- stop it! I'm going to fall out!"

"Nope."

We spent all afternoon in the playground until we both decided we needed to get home and start our homework.

"You can always come back to mine...?"

"Not today."

"Fine." He complained as we pulled into our estate. "Is Zoe home?"

"Nope."

"You want to come over for dinner?"

I considered his offer for a second. "Is your Dad home?"

"Oh yeah, I forgot about him. How about: I make dinner and bring you over a plate?"

"You always have a solution huh?"

"Always."

"Okay fine, see you later."

He waited and watched me unlock my door and go inside before pulling into his garage. I went straight to my room and hung up my uniform so it doesn't crease and turned on the shower to warm up.

My music echoed in the bathroom and I could barely hear the notification that flashed on my phone.

Matthew ~ *hey, can I call you tonight?*
