Heading back to our territory, I noticed how her car wasn't parked at the hospital anymore. I hoped she had got home safely. Tyler drove through the streets and slowed down by a small yet elegant house. I glanced at him in confusion. What was he up to? He peeked all around the house looking for something. I kept looking at him. He better give me an answer.

"What?" I barked impatiently.

"Chill Linc." He jolted at my sudden outburst.

"Who the fuck are you looking for?" I asked in annoyance.

"I'm looking for a Mini Cooper Alpha!" He still kept looking into the driveway. "She's supposed to be home after work. Right?" He looked back at me.

"It's her house?" I looked around the house just like he did. There was no damn car in there.

"I know David's house, she should be here." He tapped on the steering wheel.

A part of me yearned to see her reach home safely. And another soared in happiness at Tyler's actions. I hadn't said a word to him, yet he knew what I needed.

Relaxing back into my seat, we sat there quietly, waiting for my mate to return home.

My Jeep was pulled up under a tree and the windows were tinted. Crossing my arms over my chest, I just kept staring out the window in complete silence, until I heard a quiet laugh. It was the buffoon beside me. He loved to rile me up on ordinary days when no one was around and after being caught red handed by him. May the goddess save me.

"Who would have thought, the almighty Alpha, sitting under a tree just to get a glimpse of his girl." He chuckled shaking his head.

Even Kai loved the teasing. He howled.

A growl left my throat to stop the both of their sneers at me.

"Fine!" Tyler put his arms up in surrender. "Let's do one more stop."

I couldn't remember the last time I'd been smiling so much.

As soon as we entered the library, she sat there with her legs crossed and her hair tied up in an adorable way. Surrounded by books, she looked exhausted. While I spoke to her father I felt her doe eyes on me the whole time. She thought I wouldn't notice. A few times when I glanced her way, she would been looking up at me fiddling with some books in her hand. So fucking cute!

It hurt to know she fought the feelings she had for me. It pained to even know she wouldn't glance my way. Biting her lips in frustration. I knew the mate bond was taking a toll on her as it does to me. Everyday and every night.

The little bits I learn about her, have become my solace. All the tension that has been building up since morning has finally eased. All because of her presence. Her calm attitude flipped when I commanded her. At the mention of the word "mate" I knew she surrendered.

"I can handle myself very well, Alpha!" Her little comeback. I knew she was fuming. I found it cute, only if she knew. She'll want to rip me in shreds.

We returned back to the pack house, where Benjamin and Matt waited for us.

"No sign of any mysterious activities in the pack when you were gone. We've been patrolling all around the territories and it's all well guarded." Matt informed.

"Anything else? Benjamin?" I asked my Beta .

"No Alpha."

"Leave the guards all around the borders. Everyone can resume to their daily work tomorrow. Inform the pack."

"Yes Alpha!" Tyler and Matt said simultaneously, before leaving the office.

Pouring myself a glass of whiskey, I sit on my chair studying a quiet Benjamin. He's never this reserved, it surprises me.

"What's bothering you?"

"Nothing man, just been a hectic day, that's all." He smiled weakly. I nodded at his response.

"Nina should be waiting for me... so um, I'll see you at the training grounds in the morning Linc."

"Sure!"

Amelia Lovecraft

"Eeek what?! No way! Where's Connor? I need to see you guys right now... Oh goddess! I'm so happy for you guys Selena." I was jumping in excitement over the phone call that woke me up this morning.

"Muffin are you alright?" My mum peeked through the entrance of my room.

"Yes Mama! It's Selena, she's pregnant." I made my bed and walked out the room with my mother.

"I can't wait to go see her."

"I guess you should Mia. It'll be a change for you too."

"Mmhm, where's dad?"

She pointed out at the backyard and he was watering the plants.

Sipping on a strong cup of coffee, I sat on one of the arm chairs closest to the window. I watched as mum offered dad a cup of coffee and how they laughed about something while continuing their chore. Laying back on the comfy chair, I snuggled into my blanket and relaxed. I didn't have to be at work in the morning since my shift starts later in the evening.

After attending to my all my patients, I walked into Alex's office to have a word with him.

I knocked on his door and heard a faint 'come in'.

"Hey!" I greeted him as I entered.

"How can I help you Dr. Lovecraft?" He teased. Over the days Alex has become a very good friend to me.

"I need a few days off Alex."

"Oh, is everything okay?"

"Yes, it's because of my friend actually. I heard she's expecting so I thought I could go visit her during the weekend. Umm, I could cover my hours during..." I was cut off.

"Mia, it's fine. Take the weekend off."

"Thanks!" I grinned.

"No dad, it's fine! I'll take the train to go see her." My father insisted of going with me all the way to the south to see Selena. We had to do a good six hour drive, to get to her pack. Driving that long would be exhausting so I preferred the train.

"You sure you'll be okay Mia muffin?"

"Yes dad." I rolled my eyes at him. He was unsure of me travelling alone, which I found absurd since I've done it so many times before.

"She'll be fine David." Mom spoke up for me and he sighed in return.

"Stop pouting like that Lilly, it's just a run." Amaya complained as we jogged up the hill with a very grumpy Lilly following us.

Lilly and Amaya have always been asking me to join them for a run through fields, and I thought I could join them today.

"Guys stop, I can't breathe. I think I'm gonna die." Lilly fell on the floor dramatically.

"Get up babe, let's get this done. I need to head back home, freshen up and go to the hospital." I pulled her up.

"How the hell does one have all this energy?" She huffed.

"I know, I'm a fabulous creature." Amaya jogged, she definitely was quite energetic this morning. I ran along with her in the beginning but now I'm accompanying Lilly, because I didn't want to leave her behind.

"Move bitches..." she howled before running far away. Lilly grumbled all along, I couldn't help but giggle.

As we were nearing the training fields, my heart began to thump. He would be here. Hence the reason why I never ran or came this way during these hours.

"Baby..." Lilly whined before running away to Logan at the first sight of him. He waved at us which we returned and carried on walking. I needed to get out of here as soon as possible. Jason, Amaya's mate was on duty so I promised to drop her off at her place.

"Okay it's getting really hot now." Amaya began to fan herself. All I felt was the cool breeze.

"What are you talking about?"

She motioned with her eyes to the warriors in training and the top ranking warriors barking instructions at them. Most of them were well built and very good looking I must say.

"Jason's going to be very upset if he finds out."

"Hush!" She winked, I knew she was teasing because she loved her mate to bits.

Walking past a bunch of werewolves, we heard them howl and whistle. Which made me very uneasy, looking straight ahead Amaya and I walked faster.

"Fifteen laps around the fields now!" Tyler growled at the bunch of guys who just embarrassed us. He stood with his hands behind his back, I followed his gaze only to see him looking at none other than the devil himself. The Alpha.
