《Bride》Chapter 6

After entering the restaurant, we go directly to the floor. The first thing I noticed was the lack of clients. Before noticing the flowering trees present in the room and the relaxing atmosphere that reigned there. It's almost magical. It felt like a fairy tale.
The room was completely empty except for one person with their back to us. We approached and I could finally see their face. A woman with ebony hair very similar to her son's, not to mention their crystal colored eyes.
Gabrielo's mother is breathtaking. Literally. I have rarely seen such a beautiful and elegant woman in my entire career as a fashion designer no matter how short it is. Even more so at her age. She glows and doesn't have a single wrinkle. She looks up in our direction and quickly approaches us.
- Mom, this is-
- Quiet! I don't think I talked to you. Besides not inviting me to your wedding, I'm only meeting my daughter-in-law now.
I am... Speechless. This woman seems to have quite a temper. Not to mention the way Gabrielo avoids her gaze.
- Nice to meet you, my dear," she says, turning to me with a smile. Who would have thought that my son would finally get married? And with such a beautiful woman on top of that.
She takes me in her arms and draws me to sit next to her.
- Tell me, what do you want to eat? She asks while taking the menu in her hands.
I watch her order along with Gabrielo and the waiters arrive in short notice. We start to eat with Gabrielo's mother who asks me questions from time to time.
- Now tell me... When will I have grandchildren?
I choked up when I heard his question. Children? Although I've never asked myself that question, it's always seemed obvious to me that I'd have children one day. Even more so now that I'm married. Gabrielo hands me my glass of water and I thank him while drinking the water.

- Things will be done in time, Mom. Alma is still young, not to mention the fact that her career has just begun. Give her time.
- It's true," she admits. Don't you want to have children yet? With my stupid son who refuses to face the truth, I risk dying before I can see my grandchildren.
Rosaria, my mother-in-law, has bright eyes and a pained look.
- Not at all ! I smile. It's just that we've never talked about it. I, we're going to have kids eventually, don't worry.
- Do you really think so?
- Absolutely!
Rosaria hugs me and Gabrielo sighs as he watches his mother's behavior. I smile as I see their relationship. They get along much better than I ever got along with my family. I kind of envy them.
- Alma dear, Rosaria calls, do not listen to my son. He didn't hear from me for over a month. His poor mother waited for him to come to visit her without him deigning to call me even once.
-Always in exaggeration, Gabrielo blows loud enough to be heard.
- I dare you to say that again," his mother threatens. If only you were like your brother...
I couldn't help but laugh as I watched these two bickering like children. Rosaria smiles at me and continues to criticize her son. I accidentally hit my bag and suddenly remember my gift. I hand it to my mother-in-law nervously.
- You really didn't have to do that," she exclaimed, thanking me. I arranged this meeting overnight, not to mention that I have nothing for you. We're going shopping to make up for it!
- I hear you like jewelry. I hope you like it.
Rosaria opens the box before discovering the earring gem. She lets out a scream as she turns to me.

- Are these the real thing? She asks as she alternates her gaze from the jewelry to my face.
- Of course they are. These are the Eternal Twins from Graff House. There has never been a piece of jewelry quite like it on this scale. A true masterpiece of craftsmanship in the field of jewelry.
She takes me in her arms and thanks me. I return her embrace smiling before loosening up. She turns to Gabrielo and rolls her eyes.
- I'll wear them to your wedding, she says, tucking them carefully into her purse. If my son deigns to lose a day in his life for an important event.
Gabrielo looks away and suddenly focuses on his phone screen. Ah. . Is that how it is?
- No wedding, no house," I said, smiling at him. What do you have to say? Do the right thing, or you'll be living as a bachelor all your life.
- Are you serious? he asked, scrutinizing me.
- Do I look like I'm kidding? I didn't sign a paper to not celebrate anything at the end, believe me.Rosaria bursts out laughing when she sees her son's dejected look. He gives her a glare that she wipes away with a wave of her hand.
- Very well. The wedding is on, he gives in with a sigh.
- I believe that I am going to leave you now. Gabrielo, she says by making him the kiss, take care of my daughter-in-law. Do not call me before having good news to tell me.In no time she leaves the restaurant, taking with her a dessert. What a woman ! Gabrielo turns to me and changes his seat to sit next to me.
- A wedding? He asks one last time.
- A huge ceremony actually. It is going to be time to go back to the office soon. Let's go," I say, standing up.
- Just a moment, ma'am," exclaims Gabo, grabbing me by the hips to sit on his lap. We had to talk about a certain apartment to buy in the next few days.
- Really? I said, pretending ignorance. I thought we had to get married first.
- Well, stop believing now because we're going now.
- Where to?
- On Maddison Avenue. A two-story penthouse. What do you think of that?
- I trust you on that. For now, let me go, I need to go finish a dress at an emergency wedding.
- Not yet, he refuses, holding me tighter to him. I can't believe it. I'm married and the only time I touched you was on the wedding night. What kind of fiasco is this?
- Yours," I replied with a laugh. Now I really have to go before the bride has a nervous breakdown. I'll see you later!
I quickly left the restaurant and called a cab to the ceremony venue. Two hours later, I return to my office to work. It drops me off quickly in front of Destiny's building. I go upstairs to start working on my latest sketch.
The door opens with a bang and I jump violently. Who is it that opens the door like that? Just as I was about to open the door, I met the gaze of the person in my office. What the hell is she doing here?
I thought we wouldn't see each other for at least a few more months.
- Is that how you greet your mother?
